      Our classic balisongs hand forged in batangas philippines are the best. These ones might have better material and dimensions but nothing beats the classics.

    Still needs consistency and polish, but I've got the basics of the trick down in like 20 minutes and I've only been flipping a few days. Excellent tutorial! I really liked how you broke it into chunks! The second thumbaround was confusing watching the full combo, but split up it's much clearer how it works. Thanks for the breakdown!

      @@himothytimothy111 Yup, I don't practice flipping anymore and haven't for years but whenever I pick one up I'm still able to do pretty much everything I learned without thinking about it (including behind the 8ball). Muscle memory from repetition is absolutely a huge factor in learning these tricks, just keep at it and once you get it you'll probably never lose it.

      Wow Wow there are different styles for sure, a combo could be aerial heavy, fanning heavy, or rollover heavy for example

    • @50bladesofgrey43
      @50bladesofgrey43  6 років тому +1

      John Garcia can you get it around your thumb and you get cut during the last last part or does it stall out on you when you try to get the last roll?

    • @parkerd2919
      @parkerd2919 6 років тому +1

      50 Blades of Grey Yeah! I can get it around the thumb on the second roll but I can’t stop the momentum of the blade and it always cuts my index.

    • @bluehornet197

      @@parkerd2919 try taping the edge of your blade it will stop you from cutting yourself or you can buy a trainer on eBay for like 10 bucks

    If you were a beginner and were choosing between the Replicant and the Alpha Beast, which would be easier to learn with?

    • @50bladesofgrey43
      @50bladesofgrey43  7 років тому +1

      Mark Collier hard call, both are knives intended to aid you in flipping. I think the replicant makes aerial tricks easier while the beast can make technical tricks easier but I wouldn't call the difference make or break

    Hey I had a quick question. So I've got the first two rollovers down, but I'm having trouble rotating the knife 180 degrees in order for the third rollover, and the knife is going too fast for me to see an easy way to do it. I'm using a standard replicant, so the handles are decently radiused, I just can't figure out how to spin the knife while it's moving. Any pointers?
    EDIT: I realized you aren't rotating the knife, you're rolling your wrist. I'm still having issues though, any tips on how to train that movement?

    • @nyathannyuwen8084
      @nyathannyuwen8084 7 років тому +1

      Tyler Woolstenhulme Ok, here is the thing, on behind the 8 ball, the first two rollovers are supposed to rotate around your fingers 360 degrees. This is why he is able to go into the last thumb rollover. He doesn't rotate is wrist.

    • @tylerwoolstenhulme6756
      @tylerwoolstenhulme6756 7 років тому +1

      But he does a little rotation thing from 0:11-0:13 which I assume is done to keep momentum going. I've actually been able to do it since I wrote this comment, but I'm sure my form is terrible.

    • @50bladesofgrey43
      @50bladesofgrey43  7 років тому +1

      Tyler Woolstenhulme glad to hear you got it down somewhat! You'll notice that I don't actually spin the knife while it's moving I pause for a brief moment before the final rotation and use wrist to rotate it slightly so that it spins open. It looks like one smooth continuous movement but the trick is comprised of segmented parts
      It will get better and smoother the more you do it from my experience. Just need to get used to the movement
