He is really nice guy, got a chance to talk to him last Dark Funeral played in San Diego. He was just by himself smoking. He was very happy to talk to fans and take selfie's.
Yesssss finally a video with this guy, he's so fucking amazing. I wish there were more drum cams of him on youtube. I've seen him twice now with DF and he's flawless live, perfect replacement for Nils

In an interview, he stated that he sets his snare really low (below his knees), allowing him to rest his arm on his leg and prevent shoulder pain. Frost from Satyricon has actually developed tendinitis in his shoulder from setting his snare drum too high.

Great video!!! Hey which type of the drum tech mesh heads are on the bassdrums? Is it the real feel? Or the drum tech design?? And do you prefer the drum tech patch on them or not? Does the patch effect the rebound or is it better to have it without?
Many metal drummers say, that on high speeds no matter what rebound have drum head, only spring tension is back the beaters.

Cool vids! One question, why put both bass drum pedals into one bass drum if you have two? I think I've seen this in a live of Rotting Christ as well and I'm really curious, sorry if it's been answered before.
I believe that the drummer is used to the action of a double pedal rather than 2 singles...having the second bass drum makes the kit look bad ass. This is what i assume.
@@grantrobinson4537 but you have 2 pedals in both scenarios. In one they just lead to one bass drum rather than two

both are great, that's for sure.
Different styles, I think Dominator is more aggressive and Jaloma has more technique, but both are amazing drummers
i think the dominator is the dominator for a reason: he dominates.
i would say he is more dynamic, but u can't say who is better.
Dominator in my opionion is just way more brutal.. More power, aggression and he has just more spirit to his playing.. Jaloma plays pretty precisely and fast as hell but its that kind of playing you often find in technical death metal.. That fast, precise, technical kind of drumming that is impressive af but very often lacks in "spirit", groove and originality

Yes, Nils has almost a ”punky” style of playing, which is just ridicilous considering the tempos, and Jalomaah is more of a ”tech-blaster”, very pure and precise.
I think People saying Jalomaah has better technique, misunderstand the concept of technique a bit, it’s not as of they were set to do and play the exactly same thing and Jalomaah succeeded better, they both chose a different approach and style, nils a more aggressive and Janne a more ”techy”, but both are excellent drummers in their own way👍

I get that triggering is necessary at such high speeds, but you can barely hear the real drum sound over the samples anymore. Sounds like straight from a midi track. Which makes sense with the cymbals, they're all rubber obviously, but toms, BD and snare?
It’s mesh pads that’s why you hear just samples. It’s all midi because it’s an ekit. It’s easier to do these instructionals with and ekit opposed to an acoustic. Mesh is silent.

IMO the set is prepared for switching kickers. There are few on the floor, next to interviewers.
