Hey man, you're a damn fine drummer! Your gear sounds great too! I'm a Paiste player as well! Since your playing is tight, clean, and spot on, and your cymbal setup sounds great I have a couple questions for you. I'm looking to make some changes to my cymbal setup, primarily my chinas. I've come to the conclusion that the Paiste Rude line has sone of the best chinas on the market. I've never owned any of the Rude line, except for an 18" Rude Novo China. Unfortunately, it wasn't the sound I was going for. Regardless of that, I'm sure that Rude China are the way to go for what I want. So.... what chinas are you using? Actually, what cymbals are you using all together? I've been playing for 30 years, done some albums, some tours, shows, live and studio session, etc. I switch around my cymbals when I start playing with new bands and projects and I'm playing with my first deathmetal band since 2019. I need to make some changes and there's no stores that carry anything good to try out. Because of that I watch videos and find awesome drummers like you, who also use the same brand as me, and that have great sounding gear. Then, I ask questions. Currently, I'm using (all Paiste): -14" Sound Formula Reflector Heavy Hi-Hats -14" 900 Series Hi-Hats -20" Signature Series Dry Ride -19" Signature Prototype Crash -16" Signature Fast Crash -18" Signature Full Crash -10" Signature Series Splash -10" Signature Reflector Splash -16" Twenty Series Thin China -18" Alpha Rock China I absolutely need to switch out both chinas. After that, I'll switch my Signature Dry Ride for a 22" 2002 Ride. Then, I'll switch my 900 Series hats for something else. Maybe a 14" 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hat, or maybe a 15" 900 Series Heavy Hi-Hat. I'm not sure, I haven't thought about it much. Then, I'll switch the 19" Signature Prototype for something a little drier. Last, I'll switch out my Sound Formula Reflector hats. I LOVE those hi hats, but I want something a little brighter for my main hi hat, maybe a 14" Signature Series Heavy Hi-Hat. Anyways, let me know what cymbals you are using, especially your chinas. It would be appreciated!

First of all, thank you very much! 🔥 I will make a Video soon about all my Cymbals and Gear including a little example in which i will Play every single Cymbal! :) My Chinas are: 16" Wild Crash Rude 14" Blast China (fucking great and Small China) And for the Big China stuff i use the Paiste Signature 18" China! Those single foot blasts blow my mind, but interestingly is the technique, you look like you are barely trying to move, and succeeding. I'm so used to playing right up the top of the pedal, can you go into some details whats going on or point me at a video?
@@WerwolfDrums Sweet, I'm pretty heavy now on the heel toe which has put my kicks into orbit. Coming from the old school I'm retraining my grips for French grip, any recommendations?
The seemingly giving of zero fucks while playing this shit is what sets this apart. Barely any movement, and, most of all, no big belly dampening the snare. Technique in its purest form - as opposed to Ahriman‘s half random strumming
