I can still remember exploring DOOM2 level 3 for the first time after killing everything and taking in the main "courtyard" area and being lost in this amazing track. There was an immense feeling of emptiness in that bleak starport level and I felt right at home immersed in that level. It's almost impossible to describe the music of DOOM2 as it is it's own thing entirely. Some of these tracks STILL feel new to me and I've been playing DOOM/DOOM2 since '94. Some of the tracks feel like they mock you and the game Itself expects you to fail and burn in Hell and some tracks feel downright condescending at times. A few of the music tracks invoke in me a sense of hopelessness and overwhelming odds. There is NOTHING like DOOM2 and not a day goes by where I don't think of it or the music from it.

Unfortunately, the band dissolved before we got to record our cover of this or perform it live. I hope you're doing well, Cristin, wherever you are now.

Correct. If you watch speedruns, especially UV-max ones, you'll notice the SSG getting used a HELL of a lot. Despite its rate of fire being slow (only 35 shots/minute, for memory). The rocket launcher is still an awesome weapon though.
@plowboy9991 i think thats because you played the MS-DOS version, thats why it sounded more electronic, in later versions they added this version with the clocks
