  • The St. Regis San Francisco is one of the most luxurious, if not the most luxurious hotel in San Francisco, California. The St. Regis San Francisco is a beautiful renovated property featuring 260 well appointed room & suites. I was very impressed with the rooms, lobby areas, amenities, and location, but saw much room for improvement concerning the check in and arrival experience.

    Rating:
5/5 - Room (was it clean and comfortable)
5/5 - Inspiration: (how wowed was I by the exterior, lobby, room, and view)
4.5/5 - Service (how friendly was the staff across all departments)
5/5 - Value (how much do I personally value the product and how likely I am to return)
    Josh’s Score:19.5/20 =97.5%- Almost Perfect!
    Pros:
-Beautiful lobby, rooms and public areas
-Butler service (full service for suites only) but we did have a wonderful butler who did make sure we had a great stay.
-Service was excellent (except for arrival and check in. Agent did it smile or greet us or welcome us to San Francisco.)
    -Lobby bar and restaurant
    Cons:
    I don’t think property had a pool
-Front desk service can be improved
    Pricing:
The average nightly price for a standard room is usually around $430-$650. Due to a lower price point it is usually better to use cash. When the rate is over $600 per night I recommend using points. It is rare to e a good value of one penny per point at this property.
The average number of Marriott Bonvoy Points needed per night is 71,500-110,000.
MARRIOTT BONVOY ELITE MEMBER BENEFITS For Platinum, Titanium, Ambassador :
-Welcome gift of 1,000 bonus points or breakfast in restaurant for member plus one
-Space available upgrade to better view or corner room, unfortunately, no complementary suite upgrades here.

St Regis often announces their hotels are technology advanced as they made the first US hotel with in-suite telephone available 😆

I totally agree about what a good check in should be. Instead of for guests asking questions, receptionists should ask questions how to accommodate guests. I wish more hotels having better receptionists. Even Ritz NY I have been to had acted like a machine or AI generated person 😂

I totally agree, it’s not that hard to provide great service. And these hotels pay more to employees and can therefore select only the best staff for the hiring process. So it blows my mind when service is not great when rooms are so expensive and at the luxury properties.

@@gogotravelwithjosh it could be they look for certain kinds of ppl paying good tips to provide better service. US is a tipping country. Many places are forced to tip now.

Those types of people then should not be hired at the luxury properties. Service, not tips should be main focus of employees as wages are higher at luxury properties.

@@gogotravelwithjosh are you going to do a Singapore St Regis? What about Marina Sands?

We are sitting on top of Marina Bay Sands now with view of infinity pool at Spago restaurant. We are not staying here rooms are ugly in my opinion. I also want to see the Marina Bay Sands from my room so Ritz view is better and we have a suite there on the highest 31st floor. I have walked around St. Regis but it’s too dated so not staying there. Heading to W Koh Samui tomorrow.

It is a nice property especially for points but too many other good options. Like the Ritz Carlton, JW Marriott, Andez with Hyatt, and W Sentosa.

I feel like st regis is slowly phasing out their butlers

They are actually not. It is still part of the St. Regis brand. For some reason though this location just had a slightly different policy I think for Covid. They said that they will eventually provide normal butler service for all rooms. I’m not sure when.
