I always try to avoid hotels that belong to large multi National chains such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG Rome for instance has a number of really beautiful hotels that are more intimate and cater for experienced travellers you are not so easily impressed. 😊. Not saying this isn’t a fine building because it certainly is. Btw “the first St. Regis in Europe in 1894?” I think you missed out “built” This hotel used to be called The Grand and was owned by CIGA before Starwood (now Marriott) took control.

Amazing and really luxurious. How was the butler service? Did you ask for your butler to bring tea or coffee?

Thank you! I actually was very disappointed though because they never introduced us to a butler at all!! I even called and asked for one to be sent but one never came:( It was only one night and we were busy sightseeing so I kinda forgot about the tea service to be honest.

@@gogotravelwithjosh ye that sucks isn’t what St Regis famous for Butler service?

Yes, St. Regis is known for their Butler service. Now that I have stayed at 10 different St. Regis property’s, I’m much more familiar with what to expect. Here I should have ordered tea and they would have brought it to the room. I was just use to the St. Regis Cairo where the Butler took you to your room and checked in on you all the time, but many do not operate that way. It’s inconsistent across properties.

@@gogotravelwithjosh st Regis even announced butler would unpack and pack guests’ luggage 🧳 😆 I have never tried this. Have you?

Yes, that is true! I had my luggage packed up at St. Regis Dubai the Palm and it was an amazing experience. They wrap the inside of your bag with tissue paper and pack in each clothing specially and layer the tissue paper to protect the colors of the different clothes! It was like a perfectly wrapped gift when he was done.

More than a bit naive to imply that those hotels that you mentioned are the 4 best hotels in Italy… Sorry but they aren’t and you should maybe try other hotels as well as other places in Italy and maybe not just base your information on your Marriott Bonvoy membership.

Thank you for the feedback. My focus is highlighting the best Marriott properties (and sometimes Hyatt’s). I’m sure there may be other luxury hotels in Italy that may be amazing and I would hope to possibly check those out someday.
