I also want to note, in terms of the weight animations, it also probably ended up saving some seconds, maybe even minutes, having a medium weight Pokémon, rather than the heaviest, because the animation of your trainer throwing the Pokéball is ALSO affected by weight. The heavier the Pokémon, the slower the throw!
yo they solved timer0?? that's huge. i used to do a bunch of rng abuse back in the day. in bw1 it was fine since you're really only getting 2 timer0s most of the time but in bw2 the amount of randomness just made me not want to even bother doing anything in it. it's not relevant to me now but it's really cool to hear it was eventually figured out even if nowadays it's used for completely different purposes
@@PulseEffects So true! I've loved her ever since she was revealed initially. It feels so long ago 🥲 Also very fun video! I shouldn't be surprised at this point with how much rng manipulation previous pokemon speedruns use but it's still fascinating how much you can manipulate even in the newer games.
Really? I remember that my team was barely under leveled back then and it was consistent through the entire game. That being said, I can see the problem if you don't take the optional routes.
I disagree. I liked how the handled it. It makes Pokemons level up faster and it doesn't feel like an slog. Especially when compared to Gen. 4; which has the most sluggish ways of getting experience & level ups. Plus you got Audino, Lucky Egg, Exp. Share and other things to double or triple that experience and give other Pokemons an experience too.
It's funny, the sprite work in Black and White 1/2 looks significantly better and more interesting than the modern Pokemon games and their 3d models. Just goes to show good art direction > good graphics. They've had multiple generations in 3d now and the quality of the pokemon is the same as they were in the first 3d game.. if anything they've gotten worse.
What is the company that created raid shadow legend's obsession with sponsors. There is not a single successful UA-camr that has not received a sponsor from them
you can't just put at the end some tass ass strategies and then go thats it. now i want to see how absurd the perfect run would look like when you can just manip to happen to have dust/bubbles happen in between you and a trainer every single time. a good commentator could make wonders of that
Unfortunately, there just aren't many trainers you can skip with dust clouds / bubbles in White 2. I think besides the two shown in the video, the only other one is Ace Trainer Webster in Victory Road. As I understand it, the only reason it's worthwhile to skip the swimmer and ranger is because you can skip them both with a single manip, otherwise the process of saving, resetting, changing your clock, starting your game at the right time and doing specific movement doesn't net you any timesave.
@@GarfieldTheLightning Correct, skipping both is required in order to save time (you lose a lot if you attempt it and fail). Extending this to Webster in VR is also unreasonable due to Hidden Grottos making RNG calls every 256 steps you make. This means you basically have to hold manip through the whole game, because you have to know the state of the grottos. For skipping these two, the state of the grottos is irrelevant because it takes less than 256 steps from continuing the game to skip them. Furthermore, any variance due to biking mistakes and/or having to interact with trainers/strength boulders/water means that any minor mistake nearly destroys any chance of holding manip up to Webster, and as Garf said, a Save+Quit to skip one trainer is too slow, along with other issues that may arise from the lost XP/EVs from skipping a trainer.

I know drilbur got paralyzed by Static but it is still funny to watch the clip at 9:23 when Pluse says it can't be paralyzed by Twave
This is my way of making sure people are paying attention to the details. 👀
i think that white 2 might be one of the most fun speedruns ever
No cap
What makes it the most fun?
@@CascoonFan27 it's not black.
@@Konomidebanshouwashikisesur Never say this in any other context

Solid video, will admit saying Earth/Steel at 19:18 definitely threw me off for a second lmao
I love how the Yugioh Forbidden Memories ost has become a staple of speedrun videos
Great video! loved seeing how Excadrill came out of retirement to reclaim his GOAT status
i love the part when he just started excadrilling everywhere
The iconic Rosa Pokemon Masters pose

Summoning Salt is everywhere and I love it
THE ROSA POSE LETS GOO
Rosa be like 🤨
Best game in the whole series
Dammit, now I want a SummoningSalt video on BW2 😩
I'm a simple man. I see Rosa in thumbnail, I like the video before even watching it.
Rosa is PEAK character design! 👌

I thought Rosa fans were becoming a rare species. im glad to see we still get Rosa fans here.
This vid is actually a little iconic because I used to watch Pulse speedrun W2
Sad to see this video not popping of, i enjoyed it!
that torvus bog theme in the background tho
Pokemon White 2 feels great to play and play fast but the Exp gain is awful in this game
God no kidding. I think that's why they give out free Lucky Eggs.
Same with every game from gen 5 and back

Appeasing the wizard Algorithmius. Love your stuff.
at 4:53 shouldnt it be clay and skyla? not clay and elesa? 😅
Oops 😭
Love that MVC2 music dropping while the video introduces excadrill.
12:57 you can't just say that without a source
It's not emulating it as far as I'm aware, the 3ds has DSi hardware in it
God damn he must’ve gotten a fat bag for that sponsor! Congrats man, well earned!
White 2’s the GOAT Pokemon game overall
He surcame to the raid supremacy
Nice vid cuz blackwhite2 is one of the best pokemon games ever cuz of all the extra content

Let's go Chrono Trigger music
Long story short, Excadrill will always be a good Pokémon
That Summoning Salt theme ❤❤❤❤
I love your video thumbnails, they're so cute! Do you hand-draw all of them?
Artist is in the description! Can't recommend her enough!
Amazing video, as always
I would like you to cover Werster's sub 3:30 HG/SS Any% time which happened two months ago!
Nah werster is truly the goat, he's done it in almost if not every gen, he's just insane.
13:04 actually it's not emulation since a 3ds runs the ds game using actual ds hardware inside the 3ds console
Holy research bro
Longer form in the future? I’d love to wait a couple months and binge an hour or 2 long one 👀
Always love these vids
Great video!
Hey youtube, recommend this to others too
bro rosa is just so fucking cute, cmon im not 12 let me get over it
4:55 I am confused as to what advantage Elesa has on Pignite/Emboar. Should the image be of Skyla instead?
Yup!
Correct me if Im wrong, but iirc, Challenge Mode's level increase... doesnt actually increase their stats due to a coding error, right?
Question I have a bootlegged White 2 cartidge is that legal to run with?
What is the company that created raid shadow legend's obsession with sponsors. There is not a single successful UA-camr that has not received a sponsor from them
Their advertising budget is bloated and they are tryna farm whales
You didnt link the videos on screen so i can look at the dust cloud manip next
Woops. Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/cactqzeCH60/v-deo.html
I think it's pronounced "Cobal-lion", because it's a portmanteau of "Cobalt" and "Lion"
Good video

wrong, it was evougaming5605, but you got 2nd! So close..
Why do we have to talk about Raid shit legends on a pokemon white 2 speedrun video?
Paid sponsorship
they pay ton's of money on this. even more if you casually play WoW or FF XIV as a UA-camr oder streamer
