I wanted to share the things i've learned while playing HC ruthless. If you have any questions that you'd like answered, leave a comment and I will answer what I can!
I am loving Ruthless. i didn't know Brutus breaks door frames when chasing you. YES, i had to run away from Brutus and recharge my potions to be able to kill him. Finally a boss fight on POE.
I love hardcore, I only play SSF. But I have no desire to play a game where the already lackluster passive tree is even worse. No thanks. I'm not spending 10 skill points on dexterity to get a half powered version of a notable. It'd be better off just turning leveling off in the first place.
Excelent video, I've had similar experience as well, managed to get 3 yellow mapping chars in ssfhc r before switching to work on challenges and blasting regular game. I hope ggg looks at certain aspects of the ruthless experience, bringing more qol back and some power gated behind hard content (flask charges and 2 more acendancy points). Then the mode would be perfect.
I will play Ruthless this league. Not HC, but also no trade, so SSF it is. I will play a RF Jugg. I am used to this build in normal SSF, so I am looking forward to the more slow approach in ruthless this time.
Amazing accomplishment, really. Ruthless nerfs incoming! XD But I wonder how can you use srs if they're put on second skill bar and we can't see you activate it. Can you share your secret?
You can change the keybinds for the second toolbar to not require a control modifier so they don't show when they are used. My SRS is bound to right mouse button, and that button is bound on the second skill bar
Great video, have you killed any Ubers in HC R or tried them? I was looking for videos of them since it was announced as a kill event for the upcoming league but I couldn't find any. Thanks
They are part of the Lutbot logout macro, they are supposed to track the duration of things based on what button you press. They don't do anything for me I just haven't bothered to disable them.
Amazing video, I'm planning to try ruthless HC ssf after at least two years out of Poe. This reminds me of old Poe back in 2012-14. Do you recommend a totem or srs build in HC ssf? Which one would be easier? Thx
If you detonate the orbs and they are partially over terrain they disappear instead of being dropped, you have to lure them close to the edge of terrain then detonate them. its easier to do with flame dash since you can tp over terrain and they will path through it to you, but you can still do it on ruthless. this works for the shaper encounter too

I started on Ruthless as elemental witch, knowing nothing of the game and have spat countless curses at GGG for bad game design and not guiding the player properly. Wondering if it should have been blocked until you beat the campaign so players get the right experience of the game.
It should not be blocked. It is the best way for new users to start for two reasons. Ruthless is faaaar less convoluted. A beginner having a hard time understanding the game is an issue with the game as a whole not having enough tutorial info. Especially when it comes to expansion content that has been implemented into the game over the years. It's already bad enough in ruthless. It's much much worse in bench (nonruthless) mode. The second is user retention. Internet design is great. But bench mode is soooo poorly balanced that you have a much higher potential of losing interest and playing something that's actually a game. Ruthless isn't even a hard mode. It's more like normal. Bench mode is so easy and watered down. It's not worth playing for most. Just uninstall.
@@seeess925 The game provides a near infinite number of ways to upgrade but only a finite number of points and times to upgrade, not all upgrades are useful so more than likely, you're going to upgrade yourself wrong. Unless you spoil the game and follow an upgrade guide. But nearly all guides are for bench and will tell you get gems that aren't available in ruthless. Just so much micromanagement and punishment.
6 Ascendancy points, Fossil Nerf, Essence Nerf, No loot, No movement skills. Just look at the build you are forced to play. SRS and Akalis fang. Whole character is in uniques because you can't make a single decent item. What a horrible idea it was to make this mode and then host a boss event on it. Sad.

why looking for punishment in a game? Isn't your real life job already hard enough?

Just started my first char. In act 1 sitting in caverns wondering how to get more cold res for mervail 😅
Yep… I guess a bad roll cold res ring should be an option on a first act quest

No one has killed any uber pinnacle bosses on either HC game mode.
