Thank you so much for this video. This is one of the best videos for someone starting r it bless with very little PoE experience. The biggest fear of building a character on ruthless through the campaign is not understanding how to build through the campaign in a way that will prevent me from bricking my character. If you can make more class build ideas just like this video it would be amazing! It would provide me so much more confidence and ability to understand why I am taking certain things on the fly and adjust according to my gear drops. Thank you so much!!!
Thanks dude, I really appreciate that. I haven't been playing as much POE since AN was introduced however long ago that was now (I just don't find it as enjoyable), but one thing about POE, it never stays the same for long, so I'm sure I'll get back into it someday, and then for sure, will be happy to make some more vids... :)
Awesome! Thanks for doing the work. I found a HoA gem in HCSSFR and was looking for a build to prepare on the side for when I get bored with Boneshatter. I was also lucky enough to get a Determination, so I think I might take Unbreakable and Untiring instead of the endurance charge ascendancy nodes.
@@coorooegan4508 Will do. Having a blast with Boneshatter for now though. Just hit 89. Think I'll stop when I die or hit 90. I don't care about pushing ladder, and the exp penalties are so insane that any power I can hope to unlock by leveling is just insignificant compared to what improvements gear and gems could make, so might as well just enjoy multiple different chars.
@@coorooegan4508 Update: I went to try this and it ended up being the most smooth experience I've ever had through the campaign and labs in HC, and the first time ever across all modes that I took a char from 1 to maps in one sitting. I muled the gems to my Lv90 to level them up every 20 levels or so to compensate for the huge gem exp penalty in Ruthelss. This let me progress without stopping to overlevel at all. I'm now in maps and delves and haven't even hit 70 yet. I had a Quill Rain and a good quiver so I didn't switch to claw/shield yet (and due to the way sanctum works, there's some benefits to potentially keeping that setup around). I did NOT have life tap to automate CF upkeep. I casted it manually after Enduring Cry to make it safer. I also did NOT have any source of life gain on hit, so all the healing came from regen/flasks/E.Cry. I'm missing things crucial to the build, yet the order in which you allocate the tree here and the sheer mad genius of combining Agony with CF work so well it doesn't even matter. Thanks again! You sure are good at figuring these games out. :3 Hope to see you in game. I'm Sitting_Duck and Lame_Duck in HCSSFR Sanctum.
@@Phil_597 Heh, you're very welcome dude, glad it worked out for you :) And yeah, i've actually stopped for this league now (was feeling a bit same old same old after a certain point/other games were calling). WIll be back again next league though :)
mind over matter seems pretty good for ruthless as well. when you cant rely on +life gear and have no access to auras, that mana pool is awful juicy to turn into life.
It would be another solid build option, though not really for this build as it's a bit out of the way, but more importantly, we have near zero mana (good for reservation gems if we can get them, not so great as a health boost :)
Realised I forgot to take 'soul of steel' in the vid (if that wasn't obvious). It's what takes us to 80 max fire resist, with 78 for the other two (79 for two points if desired)
Very in depth, detailed walk through of your build! Corrupting Fever seems like a great choice. Do you have any advice on how to deal with the Dominus mini bosses? I got pretty rekt on my Necromancer trying to keep my distance, but lacking both armour and resists, the cyclone guy got me good.
So the cyclone guy, we out cyclone him actually (lure him away from the chick with the zap towers and just spin on him 'til he falls over). In fact, that's the plan for most of them (lure them away from the shock tower girl, then sit and spin). Once they're all down, then slowly work on the girl (she's by far the most dangerous as potential shock + high lightning damage can be a killer combo, but if it's just her, spin in, do a bit of damage, spin out again before it's a problem, rinse repeat (it's not exactly elegant, but it is effective :)
Cheers, appreciate that :) And I wasn't planning to, as it's kinda designed to be changed around a bit on the fly, but if it'll make things easier for you, then sure... pastebin.com/ebGjWstt
Have you figured out good place to farm gems. Heard maybe the first lab, and a chest in there could drop them. Log out after opening it, then go back and do it again. Maybe Heist and farm the first contract you get open the chests and and not finish the contract get out talk to the girl get a new contract and do it again.
So I hadn't heard about the lab approach (I found the chests in there pretty underwhelming though, as seen in the first few seconds of the vid :) I did try refarming the first heist contract for a bit, but that was a bust unfortunately (they'd thought of that already :) What I decided to focus on in the end (though it never really paid off) was I spent all my orbs of chance as I levelled up buying and doing any high value heist contracts from Whakano so that I could have the resources (and follower skill sets) to do any grand heists that dropped for me. Figured then I was guaranteed some good stuff, maybe a unique, maybe a gem, something useful whatever the case. Unfortunately though, I never actually had a grand heist drop from a cache for me, but still, that was my plan at least... :)
@coorooegan4508 I farmed some of the early support gems in act 4 after Crystal mines towards Daresso. I just zoned in and ran a few of areas were the gates close you in. Got 6 or 7 until an unlucky streak and I stopped
Hmmm, wonder if that's a particularly good area for it, or if you just got a bit lucky there? (I was finding that the support gems I did get dropped in bunches. I got like 3 out of the area with the basilisk)
I started Marauder and just deleted it instantly. I mean, you can see it right there in your tree. Start by getting your first 30 levels with zero %increased to any damage on a 1L. Now kill things. I actually couldn't kill Oak, I just had no damage at all. I had muled things to make it work like flame totem, flame wall. Still, it was so bad. By far, Marauder is the hardest class to start with. Someone doing the tree suggested would be struggling so hard to get to the act 2 boss. I'd love to see you play the tree you're suggesting, just to figure out what you are doing to make that work. It really isn't trivial for having done it to try and do content on zero damage nodes.
It's true there's very little damage 'til the switch in act 3 (of the 3 starting gems, I go for ground slam of all things). What does a lot of the heavy lifting til then is actually molten shell. Oak is damn annoying, we just sit there yawning while holding down ground slam which is enough to balance out his regen, and he kills himself slowly against our molten shell (or you could rewpawn the zone til you get einhar on side, or overlevel for it if that's more your thing), but he does go down eventually the slow way. That is kinda the trade off though, if you want a glass cannon build that zooms til suddenly it doesn't, there's plenty of choices, this one was designed for survival from the get go (it does speed up after cyclone if that helps? But yeah, the slow tank certainly isn't for everyone :)
Realised it might also help if I gave my order of things in act 2 (might make the difference). So in ruthless, I go great white beast, Kraityn, felshrine ruins, chamber of sins, Alira, pathway to act 1, big spidey, then oak... (oak is last before the temple/pyramid trek as yeah, as you mentioned, his regen is annoying as anything)
@@coorooegan4508 Well I now have 2 chars 82 and 85, so I got some nice tweak gear that come online by act 2. Like those huge flat damage rings at 20 and prismweave at 25. Once you put those on, nothing matter, it's more damage than 5 support gems at this point. Also some lower level tweak gear to get me there, it's really easy once u have a few uniques to carry you. The skill don't matter, the links don't matter.
