I kind of think in words, but not sentences. unless I'm thinking how the hell to desribe it like right now. My ideas/thoughts don't directly translate to language. I know I sound crazy, I've heard some other people with weird brains like me though

Thought are not words. We know this, because a sizable segment of the population do not think in words at all. I do agree, though, that words have power.

It may be conceivable to think outside words, but well-defined thoughts pretty much require words.

@@brutusadmirer8043 Thoughts may require words to communicate them in an anthropological, sociological, cultural context. But the original thought/sensation is diminished in the 'word translation' process. It becomes a different thing. A useful thing, granted....for communication or manipulation. Look up 'Thought Forms' by Besant & Leadbeater, 1901.

I moved to another country when I was quite young, but it took about 10 years for me to primarily think in the new language. It did somewhat change my character. English still is the most powerful language in general because you can reach billions, but the native language is the most effective at reaching National goals. There will always be someone who will translate your words if you get to the top.

I liked this video. Good concepts. I suspect Scott was using some persuasion techniques when he repeated the word "words" many times, and made the claim that thoughts and words are the same thing "because AI has taught us this". I'm not convinced that words and thoughts are the same (I resist what I perceive to be a persuasion technique), but I like the concept and I think it will be useful.

  • @Willy_Tepes

Before manifesting anything in reality, you must manifest it in your mind. Believe it is possible, even inevitable, believe in yourself. Those who belive in their own abilities get 100 times longer than people who don't.
Remember that thing your parents said that you dissmissed as bullshit?
"You can become anything you want".Yes, you can even become the leader of your country, simply by using words. Hitler did it even though he was a dirt poor military veteran selling water colors on the streets of Vienna for his daily meal.
Most of all, say what you really mean and people will follow suit. Together we can solve the issues of this world, but it requires that people speak up while having no fear of the consequences.
Words are powerful, and that is why they are actively changing the definition of words. George Orwell explained how this works in the book "1984".

Words shape our thoughts, actions, habits, character, and ultimately our destiny.
Words and thoughts are essentially the same thing, and by changing the frequency and arrangement of words, we can reprogram ourselves for success.
it is the frequency and arrangement of words that have the power to change someone's entire brain and behavior.

If we lack real ones, then we need some fictional role models. Are there any current Horatio Alger types who could serialize realistic stories of earned success for boys and stories of, whatever would prevent girls from becoming TikTok deplorables? Although, these days, they would probably have to be published in the form of video games.

You can create so called reality with words to manipulate people and you should avoid or take advantage of such fake reality.

Wrong, AI is not intelligence, and words are not thoughts. That's postmodern bs (bs that's been around since before the invention of computers, AI changes absolutely nothing). Words are a signifier that point to an object of signification, they are given meaning by the intentional act of a conscious subject. David Bentley Hart does a great job of showing why this way of thinking is nonsense.
