I had fun with my sivriss deck and may rebuild it at some point. Early turns people pay 3 unless you politic. Later turns people let you have stuff unless it’s a massive threat.
It’s a fun thing that happens every turn.
    I was using cloakwood hermit.

I think sivriss is a really cool card, and I have a sivriss deck and have tried making a "reassembling skeleton tribal" deck with him, but they haven't worked very well because it makes a ton of fodder but can't use much of it because sivriss isn't an unlimited sack outlet. However, the use of feywild visitor gives the deck a direction that really streamlines resource usage because it allows for the use of combat to gain a ton of extra value, whether your opponent blocks or not. Thanks for making this video. It'll be a great help for my deck, and I'm glad you found a really cool direction to take a really cool commander. Keep up the great work.

Sivriss has been on the backburner because of its tap ability. I like the direction of this deck but, for me, I went in the opposite direction on the color wheel to use Veteran Soldier. White has a *lot* of creatures and spells that untap a single creature during combat so the idea is that once Sivriss is out with evasion, the background is out, and I have an untapper or two, I can go to combat and tap Siviris multiple times to sac the soldiers that come into play to draw a ton of cards.
Still need to tinker with the decklist but the idea was sweet, might steal some tech in here for it. : 3

You inspired me to see what I could come up with for background commanders, I came up with Vhal (U)/Tavern Brawler (R) and Skanos (G)/Tavern Brawler. Vhal taps for X, but it can't be spent on cards from your hand, and tavern brawler does impulse draw, and also gives your commander +X/+0 (shame it doesn't boost toughness) where X is equal to the exiled card's mana value. Skanos gets +x/+x when it attacks, where X is the greatest power among dragons you control (it is a dragon) so it would get the boost from tavern brawler and then it would boost itself making it pretty big pretty quickly.

super cool deck. I think Cloakwood Hermit also works really well with Sivriss. cus it doesn't specify non-token and it's a creature from anywhere.. also then you get all the cool Golgari graveyard interaction.

My Sivriss deck is my favorite deck I've ever built. I call it "choice tribal", where most cards give other players choices (both choices always good for me). It's very interactive and very fun.

What background did you go with? I tried Noble Heritage to again force opponents to make a choice. I ended up with an artifact recursion deck and I ended up taking it apart.

Idk if it was a thought, but Mindcrank is a very nasty card. It is exceptionally savage paired with Syr Konrad.
With an opponent having to pay life with your commander, it can start off a cascade of milling your opponents, with Syr Konrad fueling the engine.
Im speaking with experience from the recieving end, not the business end.

Might give him a run as a commander. Really fun card in my Ashnod deck triggering his ability again: saccing 1 creature/artifact to potentially draw 2 cards or potentially have an opp loose 6 life (per opp).
    Super fun!

Seems like this would be a fun deck to play. Not too oppressive so the commander would stay on the table.

I think the biggest problem with backgrounds is that they are better in partner decks instead of being the background, that way you'll have TWO commanders to benefit instead of just 1.

I recently came into possession of a signed copy of Ragnar from Legends and now I've got him as the commander of my tapper/untapper deck. I think in general derevi would be a little stronger but when people see that as the commander they tend to get a little nervous and target me first, so seeing Ragnar in the command zone takes the heat off me a little.

No Cloakwood Hermit? You get more sacrifice fodder, only one of the three milled cards has to be a creature to get the background to go off(even if they pay the three life to return the creature to our hand, a creature card would still have entered the graveyard), as well as colors that are more suited to graveyard abuse. You would even have a deck for all those Gala Greeters. 2 squirrels a turn also gives way to some helpful tribal synergies.

Because of your channel I look up and try to build a deck with one of the "worst" commanders in an edition. I've a sivriss deck but I still don't see why you want blue so much. You showed 6 blue cards, Sygg and Pedantic Learning would be great, one untapper, the rest is more medicore for the deck and only fits because you choose blue and then try to find good cards for it.
I've choosen green (Cloakwood Hermit) for sivriss. Lesser because of the ability but because of green. Green has great graveyard recursion (Eternal Witness, Road of Return,...). I've never saw an opponent who paid the life for a Land card and therfore I have MANY on my hand, so I play with extra play for Lands (Azusa, Exploration,...).
On the black side I working with graveyard recursion too, like (Raise Dead, Unearth,...) but more with undying effects, because of the sacrifice a creature thing from my commander (Supernatural Stamina,...). It comes out a litle bit like a Aristocrats deck, with creatures who want die or where I doesn't care if they die, after the ETB (Springbloom Druid, Virdian Emissary).
The biggest problem is the slowness of the deck. The commander costs 4, without hast effects you can use him sometimes on turn 5 for the first time. At that time most player have their life high and are able to pay. One removal of your commander sets you back 2 turns (you have to cast her again and then wait for the tap abilitie). Here play the undying cards a bigger roll, too.
I decided to not include many high power cards, because they are more likely to paid into graveyard.
That slow down my game even more. I play much more with small, unintersting looking cards and then winning with value. And slow creatures who becomes bigger over time (Power/Tougthness as big as graveyards, exile cards from graveyard for value and other similar effects) and a very few high mana cards, because of the many Lands I can play with this deck.
But the most working card for me (except Syr Konrad) is Dire Fleet Ravager. He makes the whole table from "I pay every life, so you can't get cards" to "I'll not pay for it" in one turn.
On my maybe list is God-Pharaoh's Gift (is most likely to opponents pay for it, so it nearly never works for me) and Desecrated Tomb (every card is first put into graveyard and then comes out if opponents doesn't pay. On the other hand my biggest enemy is graveyard hate and this card works in both cases).

Honestly surprised you didn't build around Clan Crafter instead if you wanted blue in the deck, fits the theme a lot better imo. But then again maybe you didn't want to just do the obvious thing.

Hey man I had a question brother. What do you think of merrow bonegnawerer?Eventide 1 drop Merfolk rogue. Check out both those abilities on it too brother. I wonder if merrow bonegnawer is a good card. It’s been worthless foil since 2008. Seems like a pretty broken ability on a one drop body. And Merfolk and rogue typing is 🔥. And the tapped ability is actually really not bad. I got 52 foils for $33 shipped. Seems like a decent deal since 1999-2005 foils are drying up in good supply. Anyway my question is how is merrow bonegnawerer foils worth only .55c each shipped? That’s one of the best one drop bodies I’ve ever read. The potential is insane. I mean honestly the prime play is to turn it into a mana dork somehow and abuse its untap ability. Absolutely nutty 1 drop I’ve never seen anyone play despite it being absolutely statistically disgusting.

I've been playing Sivriss with Cloakwood hermit for awhile now (golgari). I think you are significantly overestimating peoples likely-hood to pay the 3 life.
-Pedantic learning seems cool in theory but from the Games I've played every land I hit goes into my hand.
-Wound Reflection is interesting and I might consider putting it in but it's a lot of mana to turn pay 3 life into pay 6 life. Warlock Class seems a bit better since it at least get's on the board for 1 but still not super into it.
-I don't think Sivriss's ability is anywhere near strong enough to be a wincon. You need 14 activations for 42 life. You can argue 10 activations is good enough, 30 life is significant, but Sivriss is a 4 drop. Even if you get him out on turn 2 that's 10 turns to maybe do 30 life. Using an un-tapper you are still looking at 5 turns for a not guaranteed 30 life. Sivriss's ability is solely card advantage.
-Dread return is phenomenal but don't forget about From the catacombs, which is another reanimate but with an escape cost. I'm in green so I also run Genesis, Dryad's revival, and Timeless witness, since they can all be cast/activated from the graveyard.

Pedantic Learning works even if the land goes to hand. The cards *always* hit the GY before they're put to hand, it's not a replacement effect.

Not necessarily. I've played this commander with the Agent of the Iron Throne background and it was mono- black artifact deck where all I was doing was sacking artifacts. My goal was basically to activate Svriss multiple time in a turn and get as much value as possible where I would either get the card I want or have players pay life to keep it in the graveyard. Then if they payed life to do that, just capitalize on that with cards like Mindcrank or Wound Reflection and that would hinder my opponents.
