About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.
Best troopy fit out I've seen too date everything is so easy and functional id live in that anyday
We love it!
Thanks mate 😊👍
Great video. All very logical and well thought out!
It all works so well mate.
Thanks for watching 😊
So nice to watch some earlier vids! Gosh you two are so much more comfortable and confident these days ✌️
Thats an excellent setup guys.... Sue and I love all your videos...
Thanks mate!
Appreciate it 😊👍
Hi Guys Am enjoying all your videos and I even did a binge and watched them all from episode one 😀
Keep up the great work. You are both doing a great job 👍
Thanks for that Henry appreciate it😊👍
I Am getting to the pointe end after my troopy ground up rebuild so all this info is super cheers
Glad we could help mate. 👍😊
Great setup. Very functional for the 2 of you. If you have any more room, you only end up filling it with unnecessary stuff! I have been guilty of that!!!😁. Catch you next vid. 👍👍
Exactly right 😂
Thanks great info I am planning a lap and currently setting up my Toyota Hilux
Thanks mate!
Awesome rundown, I reckon the U shape with walkway is the best. Interesting what you say about the fridge weight though.
Love the u shape it works so well!
Thanks for watching mate👍
"Take your time" - Brilliant - I'm in the middle of doing my Alu-Cab Canopy Camper and am certainly taking my time designing and building it right. Most folks don't...
You should consider packing cubes to store your clothes - a game-changer.
Definitely being able to access the fridge from inside and outside is gold
A stealth bed is nice for a quick sleep in more urban areas.
Good layout - Thanks for the tour
Hey Terry thanks for watching.
Take your time and it will all come together perfectly!
@@itsJackandMegan Ya - that's what I said I was doing - for the last 4 months...
Hey guys, would you be able to do one more of the exterior, your awning, other gear you use. Also would like to see the bed setup. Would be awesome to a bit of how to eat on the road, lunches, dinners etc! Loving the vids as we are planing a trip over to WA next year.
Hey Madison thanks for watching! We do have another video on the awning and bed setup that I'll link for you below. We were actually talking about maybe doing a video like that on our meals so we'll definitely get onto filming that one soon, thanks heaps!

G'Day Jack & Meghan.. How is the fuel economy on your Toyota? We really want to get one , but they are so bloody expensive nowadays .We will be back in Australia in about 10 months time .. We need to buy a home the first thing for us to do as we need security as I am on a old age pension. We really have to work out commitments first .Ha ha if I was 40 years younger not a problem
Love you simple way you explain everything . Really enjoy our time watching you and Meghan.. Keep safe and enjoy life as it goes so quick .
Kind Regards
..Kev from northern Thailand
Hi Kevin.
It gets about 600km to a 90lt tank
Thanks for the feedback aswell appreciate it!😊👍
Hey guys, really enjoying the videos, just wondering what model toilet you have? Cheers
Hey mate it’s a porta potti 345
Hey guys,
Enjoying your videos! We are building a troopy in NZ at present. I have a question about the rooftop conversion... How far does the base (that the flip-up bed rests on) stick out from the troopy wall? Do you notice that in the back of your head/neck as you sit on the bench? We have an old kea camper troopy in Africa and it's a bit of a pain in that.
If you have a tape measure on you (ha, ha...), could you tell me what the bed gap is from LH side to RH side?
Enjoy your travels!
Hey thanks for watching.
Yes that part can get annoying sometimes.
We don’t have a measuring tape on us right now but I’ll keep it in mind and get back to you ASAP!
Love your fitout....but where do you keep your tools?
Hey mate thanks!
Tools are kept behind drivers seat and a few up top in the box on the roof 👍
Another great video and what about the electrical system?
Hey mate cheers.
Electrical system will be a whole other video coming soon!
@@itsJackandMegan Thanks
Question : How often, if at all, do you transit from the cab into the back and vice versa whilst inside the vehicle ? Or do you always go via the outside ?
Always via out side mate. When the roof is popped it’s easy to get into the cab if needed!
@@itsJackandMegan Thank you. This is helpful for my planning. Good to know. Cheers.
Great video once again guys. Is it $6K including the Alu roof top tent?
Hey Nora.
$13,350 for the roof conversion
@@itsJackandMegan thank you 🙂
If someone was considering travelling / touring rather than renting a house , rent is upwards of 15k - 20k per annum or more , that is a serious offset to the cost of the rig , also right now with the Covid labour shortage in rural / farming areas there is the opportunity to supplement the trip . In other words , apart from the risk of being caught up in a lockdown area for a while , there has probably never been a better time to up stumps and hit the road , see the wide brown land and the jewelled sea from here to there and a bit past the back of beyond . Enjoy :-)
Exactly right since leaving on our travels we have seen multiple signs saying “workers wanted” it is extremely easy to get a job at the moment!
Your water could of all been in the cupboard where you had some other water bottles.
Custom water tank filled from the outside and with a 12 volt puma drive filter , possibly 80 litres.
Possible cost $800
Will definitely be something I’ll do when we finish our trip!
I don’t think the sway problem is caused by the fridge.
The 2 x 20 litre jerrycans on the back door are more likely to be the problem
Have since stopped filling them all the way up and have noticed a difference 👍
Hey hey. Where are your electrics stored ? Thanks.
Hey mate they are behind the drivers seat.
The battery is stored under the pantry area and accessible from behind drivers seat and switch board is behind drivers head.
If you go check out our rig run down video it’s in that one 👍
Will be doing a full video on the 12v setup soon!
@@itsJackandMegan thank you. Much appreciated. Do you find you have any weight distribution issues seeing that your electrics and the fridge is on that side of the Troopie ?
@@maxinedevoogd8400 honestly no not really
only thing I have noticed is the sway with the weight at the back even that’s not to bad.
If I was to do it all over I would definitely be looking into proper weight distribution regardless.
@@itsJackandMegan Thanks again. Have a great day.
Hey Maxine just an update we have our 12v setup video uploaded if you still wanted to see where we keep the battery. 😊
Hey Jack, how tall are you?
Hey mate about 5”10
How do u set up the bed??
Hey mate we have a full video on how the roof conversion works if you skip to about halfway through this video - ua-cam.com/video/ERSrpgOe9H0/v-deo.html
@@itsJackandMegan thanks for the link i was scratching my head how the bed works!
How much did the whole setup cost?
Around $50,000
Every males problem where to fit there partners clothing haha good job mate fitting that
Tell me about it mate 😂😂😂 made sure to fit it all haha.
@@itsJackandMegan always a challenge but good on ya, I’ve got mine down to 4 days of clothes for the next trip 😂😂😂
