Great video. I can't wait to get my hands on the mystic surf green myself, where I live, it's out of stock pretty much everywhere. Geez, they are such good guitars.
I bought a Fender Pro 1 Stratocaster in Sienna burst secondhand a couple of weeks ago, had to sell three guitars in order to get it. I love this guitar, took it to a tech for a set up and will get it in a few days time.
@@justflycookie1364 I think he said he got it straight from the Fender website. I recommend Sweetwater. Free shipping and no tax if you live in certain states (e.g., Florida), although that may change soon. Still, they do inspections on all their guitars and gladly exchange them if you’re not happy.
😂 @2:56 😂 It's definitely shaped like a sports car! 😁 Outstanding guitar 🎸 I have the AP2 in olympic white - rosewood & tortoise shell pickguard! That seafoam is also attractive! Congratulations; this is a keeper foSHO! 😁
Bought the same one. Fantastic guitar overall. I own much more expensive guitars and I’m extremely impressed. I do think the push-push tone knob sticks out too much and it looks sloppy, might fix it later, add an extra washer under the guard. The pick ups aren’t my favorite, I prefer flat poles, I might swap them later for some lollars but the stock ones are fine. The neck is FANTASTIC. The paint job is delicious. Stays in tune pretty good if you don’t abuse the trem bar.
Which Lollars have u used .? Some claim that due to flat pole pieces there is lack of quackiness and the traditional strat sound. In my experience I have used fat 50 and the new flat pole pieces yosemites pickups and the latter weren't that stratty and didn't have that quackiness in comparison to the custom shop fat 50's
Nice! I just bought a silver one! Fender calls it Mercury. I call it silver. The carrier is supposed to deliver it on Tuesday, I’m excited. I’ve only owned Made in Mexico strat. This will be my first American made proper Stratocaster. Although my made Mexico Strat is an extremely nice guitar. I bought the silver one in HSS configuration.
Hi Miguel, thanks for the video. One question, I want to buy that same model but with HSS configuration, but I can find it in Mexico. There's a shop that has the SSS but I primarly play Pop Punk. Do you think it will work for that genre? I heard your bridge and the bridge + Neck with OD and I think it's close to the sound I'm searching for. What do you think? Thanks!
Hi Andres sorry for the late reply, yes SSS is great for pop punk and IMO it actually works better than humbuckers. Single coils with distortion are really articulate so power chords really cut through and they stay tight. Humbuckers can sometimes sag a little.
just ordered this.. very excited, great review and i share many of the subtle preferences you mentioned 👍 just hope it arrives flawless, tired of new guitar dramas that i occasionally experience
I know the feeling! I was very excited too. Just unboxed mine today, pretty sure I’m returning it. I played the Miami Blue in the store but the Wife talked me into this color.
@@drewrenfrow5657 so what are the issues apart from the colour? i actually havent seen mystic surf green in the flesh.. is it surf green with metallic and some pearl? still the same shade of green as surf green?
@@LLSicilia great guitar, just don’t like the color. I know that’s some 1st world problems… but to drop all that coin and literally have a disappointing look when opening the case. I was skeptical with the pictures, but a few videos had great reviews so figured I would give it a shot.
@@LLSicilia oh to answer your question, to me it looks more silver with a ton of glitter on it. Looks a little green depending on angle you look at it.
Since you have them both, what would you say about the difference between the player strat and this one? I have the player and have been thinking about getting one of these.
I still really like it, the frets and the pickups are the things I like the most compared to the Player strat. I'll be doing a comparison video sometime soon.
Honestly it really depends, if you're just looking for a good strat then no, the Player is every bit as good including the fretwork and feel of the guitar. However the AmProII does have nicer Rosewood vs the pau Ferro, arguably better pickups, a hardshell case and most importantly imo cooler metallic finishes. Adorama has been having them on sale for $1250 lately if that helps. Lastly if you've always wanted an MIA strat you'll always wonder so if that's the case just get one!
About to pull the trigger but one question. I really want the Rosewood board but it doesn't come on the HSS model (with the Humbucker 3rd pickup), only the maple neck. Would it be ok to install one after I get the guitar without ruining the value in the long term? Would it be possible to go back to the factory setup without any issues?
I hear ya, the rosewood boards on these guitars look and feel great. I think they are routed HSH so you can definitely get a new pickguard that has humbucker rout so you can convert it to HSS. As long as you keep the original guard and the single coil you're taking out you should have no worries about restoring it to original or resale value.
All the money you pay for is for the name and a case. I got a $300 Strat Eart roasted maple rosewood fret board stainless steel frets compound radius carved heel no buzz anywhere best guitar ever in fact I have three of them different models for nine hundred dollars and they are keepers.
@@miguelmatias610 me gustan un poco mas las pastillas de la american pro y hay detallitos que son diferentes como la forma de los trastes pero aparte de eso es mas preferencia que nada. sigo muy conforme con la player stratocaster.
I have Adam and I just ordered the Pro II and should get it tomorrow. I love it. I tried the PRS but did not really like the neck feel, and also the smaller radius. Nicely built though and sounded good. I preferred the II to the Ultra as well. Closest contender was actually a discontinued Reverend Six Gun TL.

I recently got the same colour but with the maple fretboard and humbucker in the bridge position. They are wonderful playing guitars.
That's awesome how do you like the humbucker? I wish they had hss with the RW board but they don't offer that sadly
Great review , I got the Miami blue . It’s a superb guitar in every way .

the trem bar is terrible....weather elite ultra or pro it realy fit.....music man makes this much better
I have one and hate the new neck profile " Deep C"...too thick ...i like the old American Standard "Modern C ".
that's fair, the neck is a big part of the guitar.

No guitar lead or strap, how very mean from Fender.
I completely agree, for the price they could definitely include a strap at least.
Wow that amp sounds really bad. You shound buy a proper one to see how your guitar really sound like. You dondt even know that yet.
