Realy
i agree
Agree
agree both nice :D
I played both on top of each other ;-;
Playing this in a concert was one of the best experiences in my life.
Thank you for giving so much of yourself so as others can enjoy beautiful music like this.
Which one was you?
Must've been like ascending to heaven.
@@hatred9427 now just imagine if heaven is even better than this, and for forever! How marvelous would it be...
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, and this orchestra does it well. Thank you.
Randall Stewart It's actually the Orchestra of the hr, which means hessischer Rundfunk... Just a minor state-owned german TV programme.
@@Menugius wir können stolz sein
for me the most beautiful piece.
@@gui_777_ Agree on both counts!
claude debussy, was a genius, his music was beyond being beautiful. the music he created in his mind, touched our very heart strings, almost wanna make you cry, of the beauty of his music.his music gives me so much comfort. god bless you mr debussy, may you rest in peace..
Listening to “Clair de Lune” always evokes memories of my dear friend Marie Louise from Paris, France. Despite her broken English, her French accent was like music to my ears, captivating me from the moment we met. She embodies the same softness, gentleness, and kindness as this piece, and I can’t help but feel enveloped by her warmth whenever I think of her. I don’t know when I’ll see her again, but I pray for her safety and well-being every day. She’s truly a treasure in my life, much like the beauty of this timeless melody.
Someone just HAD to cough
I bet they were crying so hard when hearing this masterpiece they can't hold it back ;).
Meatball Snacker choked on their saliva
it was me
Always. Either that or someone playing with a Pez dispenser. Lol
We all know them, every single time!
My parents - married 68 years - had this played at their wedding. My husband and I - married 40 years & counting - also had it played as part of our pre-ceremony music. The tension, pain, understanding and freedom is palpable. Beautiful.

There is not one day I dont think of that piece....
Very nice + delicate ..... much enjoyed ;-)))
+Deniz Inan Is that. It is really amazing! It is a prayer in music shape! There are no words to describe the great sensation we feel when we listen to it
The peaceful sensation we feel about it, makes us go to a magic world where there are just happiness, joy, understanding, love, harmony!
+Deniz Inan
Just a splendid piece of peaceful...
Debussy était un génie... Greetings from France :)
Wouldn’t it be great to run a flying boat around the world with this piped into your headset as you glide through the air effortlessly?
It would be perfect.
Yes indeed.

High?
Lol hehe I get it
To me, this may be the most beautiful piece of music ever written. There are parts in it that to this day make me cry, it touches my very soul. What a beautiful rendition, I also love the solo piano version.
Yes it reduces me to tears. I recently lost my Mum, she was beautiful like this music.
I long to have my mom and dad back when I hear this
all of us long someone when we hear this piece.. its just that amazing. take care
If you believe in JESUS , HE can give you comfort for your loosing , and HE gives Eternal live for each believe in HIM..HE is the Only one can do this..HE is Almighty

I was lucky enough to be born into a house with music.
My dad loves to play piano, and he wasn’t the most talkative person, but when he started to play piano, you could feel him speaking to you.
When I was 2 years old, he would sit me on his lap and play this song. When I was 14 years old, he was diagnosed with cancer, and they told him he wouldn’t live to the end of the year (it was August)
He lived for two more years, defying everything the doctors had told him.
He died surrounded by his family, and his last words to me were, “never stop playing, can you please, play for me? And not forget me? Can you do that for me?”
At his funeral, I was asked if I would play a song, and I chose to play this song, the song he played while I would sit on his lap. The song that could bring back a thousand memories.
And now, 8 years later, I sat down at the piano with my beautiful 2 year old girl, who we decided to name Claire, and played this song for her.
The most emotional story I’ve ever read
Wow your dad really left you with a beautiful memory there. There’s so much love in this little story it’s truly heart warming
How does music like this infuse longing, heartache, sadness, loneliness, hope, joy, peace, serenity, and acceptance into its tapestry of notes and take you on an emotional journey that just leaves you shook and in awe that humankind can create such beauty???…
Negative 5ths and other sorts
@@Dylan_1344 yes. Minor chords and certain intervals are the mechanics of it. But if it were just that, we’d have a kajillion pieces of music like this. And while there is a wealth of great classical music, there aren’t many that do this particular emotional thing quite like Clair de lune.
Never a truer statement💕🎼🌙🌕💕
@@Dylan_1344outstanding comment by the way 🤣
Why smoke weed, when you have Debussy?
Weed & Debussy... sublime.
This with weed is even better
Then imagine hearing this while being stoned. Nothing better I could imagine.
why not both?
I absolutely agree.
This is so beautiful. The orchestra version feels more like gliding with the stars while the piano version feels like throwing your best jewelry into the sweeping sea
If i listen to this while i die, then all of my fear and thoughts of regret will be gone, and i shall die at peace.
The french horn part is so majestic
they add such beautiful warmth
I absolutely love Claire de Lune on the key board but played by orchestra is absolute dynamite.
+Martin Roberts Yes, i agree !
Keyboard? Obviously never heard it on a piano then?
Clair
This was played at my mothers funeral as she wished, always brings tears to my eyes when I hear it, but it is so beautiful.
More cowbell, 😂
This makes me cry every time, no matter what instrument(s) it’s played on.
I’m a professional musician, and I’ve played everything from heavy metal, pop, rock, jazz, classical, country, but for me, this has to be the most perfectly written piece of music ever!!
Indeed, it's the epitome of serenity in this orchestral form. But I have to admit the piano version sounds like a bead of pearls being scattered in front of my eyes/ears, and this impression is lost in the multi-instrument rendering. Still, a beatiful and fantastically played piece. Thank you!
nicely said.. :D totally agree with you..
I'm glad you like it, William. Thanks:)
This is due to the clarity of the sound that we have when a single or few instruments are being played (the orchestra "blur" the sound), several times a single instrument or a chamber orchestra are better for a composition because the clarity of sounds adds intimacy and make its feel more personal.
Just listened to a version by Kathia Buniatishvili. "..bead of pearls.." I see what you mean. So beautiful.
Marlena Ryl-Zaleska
I agree, it's beautifully soothing but it's the silence in between the piano notes that gives feeling that was originally intended.
that piece is the 8 wonder of the world! one of the best masterpiece of all time for sure
Amazing flutist; such control at the end!
+isaiah baggett oboeist too at the start.
Yes, a very Pretty
young Lady who put a lot of effort into Her Playing. Hope She is doing well with Her Music.
This piece is VERY special for me, i get very emotional, cry like a baby, i heard 30 years ago. The chapter of my parents and grandparents, and what i wanted to be to them, but wasnt, and what they did for me and i only see that TODAY. Thank you very much and sorry.
For me there's just something about strings that speak to my soul like nothing else can.
With or without weed - this is one the most beautiful aural expressions of life on Earth - as it once was.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard !!!
I love this version of Claire De Lune- So much passion and so much sadness... I too believe that I would love to have this played at my funeral.
Wow…that final note on the flute that just fades away into nothing is absolutely gorgeous!
Indeed! I was thinking of the years of practice to be able to play these 2 notes perfectly :) What a star she is!
5:16- 5:26 my god what an absolute beautiful sound from the harp!! So dreamy and magical 🥰
this piece brings me such serenity and yet bitter-sweetness at the same time. It's brought me to tears before. Fills me entirely with emotion, both the orchestral and piano instrumentations.
This is a stunning arrangement and a stunning performance. Debussy would have loved it
Play this at my funerals
How many do you plan to have?
@@troypage5994 lol ikr
@@troypage5994 at least 3, to play all music from my "play this at my funeral" playlist

He's basically a cat i've been into his funerals several times around 3 or 4 maybe.
My every morning starts with this masterpiece. i can't bear myself everytime. Thanks Debussy..
You still doing it?
me too!
This is still one of the most brilliant beautiful compositions ever. The perfect frequencies involved create beautiful vibrations to our minds.
This symphony version is absolutely beautiful. Bravo.
Over the years, I keep coming back to THIS particular performance. Perhaps I haven't heard them all, but I don't feel the need to.
I am in actual awe of arrangers who are able to fully make the orchestra sound like _one_
Coming back from a rock bottom point in my life, I find myself closing my eyes and soaking in how beautiful this piece is. It fills me with something I can't describe. I love it!
Listening to this beautiful masterpiece, I always feel as if I were standing outside with full of blue moonlight all around myself.
Hence it's name
beautiful, it touches my heart everytime I listen to it..
The orchestra really adds a lot of colour to this piece that was previously unfound. I really saw this piece differently from before.
is there any pair of ears that doesnt enjoy debussy?
My brothers
I have a cousin who said clair de lune is too slow for his taste.
crap bag lmao he must have not heard past the first 2 minutes
Everyone I know hates classical music 🤷♂️

The beauty and comfort of this performance Ìs immeasurable and off the charts
Beautiful! That’s the first time I can recall hearing that piece done by a full orchestra. Absolutely beautiful. 🎼🎹🎻
When you think about the beauty of music this piece often comes to mind. Nice work Claude.
So flawless is this composition. Just pure emotion in every note. One of the best pieces in the history of humanity.

Maravilhoso, lindo.

This wonderful performance embodies the aesthetics of Debussy

This is not only music, is a Master Piece of Art
The orchestra brings out what a fine piece of music this really is.

Merci.
This is just magical! I am so thankful I live at a time when I have all this classical music at my fingertips, just waiting for me to listen to it.
Outro ponto... é que é curta porém densa no conteúdo.
Apareceu no UA-cam... vejo e me delicio.
É simplesmente perfeita...
Me pergunto mesma coisa.
Superb audio. Intelligent unfolding. Just..perfect. And no premature applause.
Incredibly massive range of sounds here. Very elegantly played, and with passion. The low, mid and high ranges become impossible to tell apart as the sound melts around you. Breathtaking piece of music and performance.
I love this version.. so light and free feeling. Well done!!
Without a doubt the single greatest piece of music ever composed
Magical! This orchestra superbly brings out the lush tranquility of this masterpiece. My absolute favorite piece of music.
I have synthesia, this song is one of my favorites because everything turns purple, and it tastes like honey
That is awesome! You can see and taste music
It's His divine love flowing through the soul of Debussy, calling us upward. It contains both His passion and His exaltation in His humanity now glorified forever. You can have Him if you are willing to go all in.
Amaizing just amaizing.. from México 🇲🇽😊 my dad put piece when I was Child and I loved.
My grandmother who I never meet. My favorite song.
This piece is such a pearl.
IMO this is the finest and most sensitive of the numerous orchestral arrangements of this piece (Andre Caplet) because it utilizes all of the various instruments for color and texture.
Listening to Debussy is nice, but being able to play this piece is a beautiful, pleasant and rewarding experience for any musician.
As a piano 🎹 player... Long time ago.. love his music...Dr.Eva
