#motorcycle #shorts #tipsandtricks #helmet pt.1 of 2 of a shorts series where I give tips on how to stop your ears getting caught, and folded by a full face helmet.
I believe he meant the covers of the strap, as those are not meant to be pulled as it can tear. I have seen many people do this and end up with teared apart covers.
Stumbled on this as I was researching the same problem. When I pull on the straps the are unsnapping the cheek pads. Not sure if I connected something wrong.
Fair enough, but I would keep in mind that a tight helmet is a safe helmet. There are a lot of considerations that go into helmet fitment, but having to pull the straps a little is normal, and I would be careful going to something larger.
@@hogridahmotos yes I understand but this is way too tight, I watched a video saying you need to be able to fit your pinky just under the visor by your forehead and mine can't even do that. When I pull it off it's so tight my heels get warm from all the friction. And it's a dirt bike helmet that I was using for street cause I didn't have any better but now I afford to get a nice street helmet. I will keep in mind for a nice snug fit
i have the same helmet and it cracked at the bottom plastic line in the middle because of how i pulled it so for everyone having NOT rubber helmet bottom lines - be a bit more careful with that
I hold yhe straps and pull them in opposite direction to create more space in yhe foam panels while wearing the helmet. Also wear a balaclava so the ears are not open to bending while wearing the helmet. These 2 should suffice.
Agreed 👍 and if someone in a vehicle is ragin' and you have no choice but to prove you ain't agin', it comes in handy keeping your identity shh if you remove your helmet 😉
as someone who has piercings in my upper ears, this shit hurts so bad. Also grats on your 10hr achievement, i could only go 8 hours before i really needed to turn off those comments
Here is another method if you wear glasses. When you slide your glasses in, angle the stems downward so they are not behind your ears but on the sides of them below the fold. Then raise the stems and lift the folded earflaps with them until the stems fit into place behind the ears.
yo bro I saw someone use a deflated soccer ball to stretch out their brand new motorcycle helmets so what you do is you buy like a size 3 or size 4 soccer ball take out all the air and then reinflated with a bicycle pump inside the helmet and just add a little bit of air every day until it stretches out by little it only takes 24 to 48 hours of doing that and once you take out the soccer ball the helmet will be nice and broken in already and you won't have to get a headache inside the house by wearing it
So grab ahold of you’re straps then pull outwards stretching the foam insert where you’re ears pass and just pull your helmet down upon you’re head my friend very very easy solution
I hate when that happens!!! I just bought a new helmet going by my head measurements, and I’d swear it was too small because it rolled my ears over. So I’d try twisting the helmet around to get my ears to straighten out. lol
Funniest part of this whole video is he’s explaining how to put on the helmet the wrong way. You’re supposed to put your face in first and slide the helmet onto your head.
I got a XXXL size head. Helmets fit much better if you put them on from the back of your head and pull the chin part down over your nose. If that makes sense.
If anyone has trouble with that, I get my helmet on first then pull each side away from my head by the strap and can get my hand inside to flatten my ear.
I keep a wooden stick in my helmet bag for the times my ears fold up. I don’t always wear a full face helmet and the last helmet I bought, I bought a modular HJC so I can leave my glasses on when putting it on and get my fingers in it to adjust my ears if I need to. Shut the chin bar and instant FF helmet and I can talk on my headset without any wind noise.
That's a pretty tight helmet. But I don't know anything. I have no idea why in my course my helmet fit so well. I might go back there and see what the provided helmet brand was.
Very good question, I don’t struggle myself with this so I don’t have a ton of “hacks” as it were, but wearing a balaclava under your helmet would definitely help, however that is kind of warm in the summer so you might try looking for a helmet that just doesn’t do that to your ears. Certain helmets have really big ear cutouts for communicator speakers, or glasses wearers. Maybe just try on 5 or 10 helmets and try to find one that fits your ears better.
@@hogridahmotos I found that ducking my head down twords the floor when lifting the helmet off helps since it doesnt give my ears a chance to fold. Plus breaking in the helmet helps loosen it over time
@@hogridahmotos I also learned that if you do it quick, it's less painful. my head is a bit too round for the base of my helmet but when it's in, it fits sooooooo good, taking it off is still painful but worth it 🤣
@@jkljkl218 yeah I think that’s good advice for anyone who’s having this problem, put er’ on quick, plus as the helmet wears in it’ll get easier to take on and off. Also yeah I’d say not turning into a human tomato in a crash is pretty worth it lol.
True, buying the correct size is important, but helmets should be very tight, and the inside has ear cutouts making it larger on the inside than at the opening. So this is a problem for many people even with properly fitted helmets.
“Give it a little stretch so you can get your head in”….that’s what she said! Sorry I had to 😂
😂😂
Your mother sounds like a wonderful lady
After 1 year I was you’re 200th like
Not too you🤦🏻♂️
Thank you mate, such a simple concept but super effective.
Thank you for watching, such a simple act, but equally effective to me!
I'm not going to lie I didn't think his head would fit in the helmet 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
That makes 2 of us
Did you not watch the video
@@ronaldkincaid9972a little slow aren’t ya?

Those straps are meant to withstand a crash. You can pull as hard as you would like. That's the correct method.
I believe he meant the covers of the strap, as those are not meant to be pulled as it can tear. I have seen many people do this and end up with teared apart covers.
I got cauliflower ear and that shit hurts like no other when I fold my ears in half
Me rn🥲
Lmfao me every day
I got that shit FROM my helmet 😢😂 shits painful
@Cartyla go to a proper helmet store that will get you a helmet your size..
@Cartyla that's not good
Just wear a helmet liner or balaclava which also helps contain the odor coz the sweat sips on your liner
Now I'm just thinking about pastries, fuck you man they don't make 3xl helmets
now for us who use eyeglasses
Take glasses off. Put helmet on. Put glasses on. Ez
I wish I had known this before I cut my ears off. Now everyone calls me Chopper Reed.
if you lack finger dexterity, just use two pieces of card to shim your ears into the helmet
Just wear a headsock, easily fixes all issues
try a smaller head, that one you have is far too big she said,
ill give you a little head if you keep speaking like that
@@bloxyway8548_Ooo I want some head too_

I'll give a thumbs up just for the 10hr Penny show comment at the end. "And I will be turning the comments off", laughed my ass off!
I used the first method it was the most obvious and logical thing to do. But I'm buying a bigger helmet soon

Just push the straps out to sides of the helmet with your thumbs! Then you will never have this problem again.
Mine is doubly worse because of the plug gauges in my ears, sometimes the twisting can cause pain.
Use a skull cap. I like Rockbros.
Exactly!
Can you make a video with tips on wearing glasses with a helmet? Please
yo bro I saw someone use a deflated soccer ball to stretch out their brand new motorcycle helmets so what you do is you buy like a size 3 or size 4 soccer ball take out all the air and then reinflated with a bicycle pump inside the helmet and just add a little bit of air every day until it stretches out by little it only takes 24 to 48 hours of doing that and once you take out the soccer ball the helmet will be nice and broken in already and you won't have to get a headache inside the house by wearing it
Mate I am not sure if you wearing the right size helmet.
Don’t pull on straps. I have been doing that for this exact reason and eventually the helmet becomes loose’r and more sound comes up.
So grab ahold of you’re straps then pull outwards stretching the foam insert where you’re ears pass and just pull your helmet down upon you’re head my friend very very easy solution

Most humble guy
I just take my ears off before I ride. It’s helpful when I’m at home too.

I’ve found using a balaclava helps a lot by keeping your ears flat.

I never folded my ears its more towards on what angle you're wearing it from.
I found if I drag the helmet down my nose it somehow keeps my ears upright
This is a weight issue
I get claustrophobic just watching your face inside that helmet
That's a pretty tight helmet. But I don't know anything.

You can fix your ear by the handle of your glasses… using them like a toothpick, which i did countless times tbh :)
I take my ears off befor i put my helmet on.
What about when taking off the helmet? My ears fold up or sideways and I feel like they are getting ripped off

I always wear a balaclava, better for putting on a helmet and a bit for hygiene.
A dri fit bonnet will do the trick for me, it will keep ears in place and the helmet will just slide easily
what would help is loosing a little bit of weight
Umm ..thats how you're Always supposed to put your helmet on. Always.
I really like this ear folding video
A skull cap or balaclava pulled down tight stops folded ears.
You can use balaclava too.
Just wanna say, even if you put all your weight into it. If you can snap that helmet then that’s not a good helmet lol
I put butter on my ears so it slides butter, I mean better
Use a helmet so you dont die
Stop over eating so you dont die.
Useful tips fr
Thanks
i feel bad for that helmet
Put it on towards your face not from the top. Problem solved
You sure know a lot about stretching, huh big boy?
Try putting it on face first and rotating it over your head
Thank you so much just saved my life fr 🔥💯
Your helmet is too loose son
Is it for a motorcycle or bulldozer?😊
Bro I have this while taking of my icon airflite helmet. It sucks ass and I’m gonna stop wearing it
how about using some tape to tape your ears in place before donning your helmet?
Ah so my piercings gonna be angry lol
Thanks for making this video. We need to spread awareness. It is a big problem!
Honestly looks like it's too small for you.
What is it like with glasses and a helmet? I’m new so I don’t know yet
It’s like riding without glasses except pinlock will never save you and you will always have your visor cracked
I thought! I thought, I thought
I have a similar problem trying to fit my nads into my underwear
Crap, should have watched this first. I just cut my ears off to fit
Nice snug fit
Do you ride a hayabusa?
Nope I ride a GS. Although I really like big body sport bikes like the busa. I have heavily considered getting one.
neck sock over the ears
