    Yes, these are believed to be the original locations. A lot of research has been done on the filming of Charlie Chaplin films in Niles, California (now a district of Fremont, California). The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum gives walking tours of filming locations in the town. Much of the 'downtown' of Niles has not changed in 100 years.
    The Villain in this video is played by the museum's researcher & historian David Kiehn.
