I totally agree! She is a lousy, lousy mother to say the least. She also did not teach him to have any kind of conscious at all, to look at somebody's heart, to teach him it is not okay to kill people, she didn't even teach him to take responsibility for his actions. She appears to be just emotionally unavailable to him, very poor mother child bonding throughout his life, usually one of the very biggest reasons why some people turn out to be sociopaths.

I think the dad lived separately - and here he had no clue. At this point he thinks the issue was his son putting a video of himself on social media sitting in the back of a police car being flippant and insensitive about the search for his missing friend. And he thinks his son will be ostracised in the neighbourhood because of that. He is low energy, resigned to what he thinks is social shame.
(He seems to be aware she is deceased, but he thinks his son did not know that at the time.)
The mother knows better: she picked up and washed the bloody clothes. My impression here is that she declined the dad's offer of a seat because does not want to sit down with her killer son. And she is hopping with tension because she knows he was involved.

Come on, that's just stupid...even for a 14 yr old. Mom had already seen the bloody jeans. You can tell they know something, by the things they are asking him & telling him. It's as if they are coaching him. "This looks bad , ths is serious, your DNA is going to be on her, why were your shoes in your hands, why were they wet", "pick your story & stick with it", "think twice before you answer any questions", etc. These are not thing a parent says if they know their kid is innocent. They were going over the holes in his story.
The lack of emotions on the kid is chilling. He knows he's in trouble, but there is nothing resembling a human being witn feelings.

Dad starts to shake head whilst looking at Aiden; who then shifted his gaze and widened his eyes. Dad nods. Aiden then becomes uncomfortable and begins to fidget with his fingers. The conversation that preceded this weird body language was for mom to get the story straight to continue to lie through her teeth. Aiden seems totally unbothered and more annoyed than anything, definitely uncomfortable and way way way too calm. Dad seems furious but is also way too calm. It’s both nature and nurture but mostly nurture. People always act like “some kids are just born evil” which is not true. The child has to lack empathy for a reason.

It's pretty messed up that the mother 100% knows he did this, that there's evidence and that he more then likely is going to be arrested. And although I can understand not wanting to talk specifics when they know they're being recorded and listened too, she could of given the BIO dad a heads up that this was MUCH MUCH MORE serious then he seems to think and that Aiden isn't "going to be coming to stay" with ANYONE anytime soon "to stay out of trouble", other then corrections officers. He seems to honestly believe that Aiden hasn't done anything other then get mixed up with the wrong people and putting up a Snapchat to show off as he talks about Aiden is going to come stay with him for awhile until he can behave. All the while, she has found his bloody clothing, tried to cover it up and tries to feed him a cover story right there in the room about what pants he had on!
It seems like the mother has enabled and lied and enabled and lied over and over again for this kid and that his bio dad has mostly been in the dark and naive about A LOT of disturbing behavioral problems that should've been big & bright ted flags regarding this kid. That the mom has obviously ignored and deflected. His friends described over and over about his "out of control" behavior, his anger problems, the fighting with his mom and step dad etc.
She should be ashamed for trying to help him cover this crime up. She has toddler daughters for godsakes, she would obviously do anything to protect her son and loves them but did not give a shit about the fact that poor little girl was murdered. And then his beyond stupid lie about her "grabbing him" ugh.
