  • Robert Culp (I-Spy) hosts this bizarre documentary from 1969, which ostensibly is designed to deprogram white people from their cultural bias against blacks, but by the end, completely flips to demonstrate the need for black pride and a Nationalistic culture. Imagine walking into a social studies class back in the day and being show this. It has to be seen to believed. Featuring a young Michael Richards (Seinfeld) as a racist bully. Being 63 and white, I have seen the situation improve dramatically *until the last decade* . I don't know how we got here. Things were advancing steadily, not for everyone of course, but I truly believe we were on the right track. Ever since the 2008 crash, things have steadily gone downhill. It's like I woke up one day and was back in the 60's. I'm here trying to understand why.

    • @Moon_Rise100
      @Moon_Rise100 4 роки тому +18

      @@AGirlHasNoName1.168 I think you know why and how. By you being a white person, it's up to you to get other white people to see the racism and prejudice, black people go through every single day. It's not up to black people. We are tired of trying to convince white people at this point in time. It's up to people like you to show other white folks the era of their ways. Stop being in denial of the cruelty blacks have endured by your people. I think another possible solution is to believe that white children that are now adults were not educated about black people and slavery, especially whites from the South. There has to be a conversation starting with the truth.

      The term "African-American" shouldn't be used at all, unless an African actually becomes an American citizen. Blacks that were born in America should be called,"Black Americans", or,"Americans", imo. I doubt that even .01% of black Americans even stepped foot inside Africa.

    It's normal to be uncomfortable around the unknown, but the cruelty and disrespect is unacceptable. Children when they are young are innocent yet curious. When I went to my cousins wedding, that was a mixed couple, the little kids that was of different races was playing with each other and asking different questions about appearances. We as adults try to ignore our differences to try and be neutral. This doesn't fix the problem. Be real. You will be amazed at how far it goes when meeting people from different cultures and background. This documentary was interesting and it involves race relations but can be applied to anyone who is different.

    Now, in 2020 post Covid19 (we hope), whites are about to understand some of the fundamentals of this video. Incentive of huge unemployment benefits has already shown people will choose not to work when given the option. With the rise of technology, this will become more widespread. A system MUST be developed to compensate for the loss of jobs, thus hope for the upcoming generation as well as those who were once part of "productive" society. The golden age will be preceded by much pain and misery. We must come together...there is no choice. The wealth gap *must* be bridged. How is up to us all. Our civilization for future generations depends on it. The answer is communication and love. Make it happen...please!

    The larger more realistic consideration where racial division is concerned is that the Source that perpetuates it is neither Black nor White. The Source is the economic elite who find it in their best interest to keep the common American classes divided against each other. Remembering injustices suffered or committed leaves inner thoughts of doubts and distrust on both sides, breeding fear-based emotions acted out as anger, hatred, bitterness, disgust, and setting up situations for lies, betrayal, misunderstandings, undermining and striking out before getting struck out. As long as the common American is caught up in this fear-based division against each other, insufficient focus and action will be taken to check the elite as in their own addiction of greed, continue robbing, raping and killing people as well as the Earth herself. Today in 2019 the news media, in general, puts a great deal of repetitive attention on Trump's racist slurs and policies. While the majority of common folks are emotionally stimulated and reactive in speech and/or action accordingly, nothing is done about a runaway money system, climate controls, global warming, imbalanced depletion of the land's resources, sloppy carelessness in concern of the synergistic synchronicities required to keep this planet healthy and productive and the living sentient beings upon her. What is really being done in concern of threats of wars, rumors of war, and continuous wars inclusion of homegrown masked terrorism? What about slave trafficking? What about chemical attacks through the food and water supplies as well as medical care? What about unaffordable/affordable housing? What about the prison slave camps? What about the total loss of privacy? What about skewed elections? What about care for the aging? What about the restoration of the family unit and community? What about the total brainwashing job we allow the media masters to feed us? What about minimum wages? I doubt I've even begun to scratch the surface. We have every reason to be concerned about whether or not we can truly trust each other, but for what's on the playing board right now, unless the world is largely suicidal we have no other choice than to resist sabotaging each other and work together to bring order and balance into the land where the corporate elite has hidden their true intentions behind the expected acts of the common people. Have we evolved enough in our humanity to overcome the mindset of the darkest of the dark ages? While we are busy trying to prove who is the better human, the more abused group, who should get paid reparations and who should pay them, who is the predator and who is the victimized prey. These things, as important as they all are, and they are all important, cannot be solved until we stand up and make the sacrifice to demand accountability from this small population of very powerful entities. The issues are important, but they cannot be solved if those who stand in the positions of power are not held accountable. If the government is not accountable then shut it down. If the world corporate alliances are not accountable to the people they are supposed to serve with opportunities to afford a living, to grow and evolve down through the generations, to pursue dreams, visions, and happiness, then stop working for them and stop shopping through them. Take a close look and determine what is of immediate true relevance to the common masses of American people or people worldwide for that matter. If we are not happy with the education policies then create our own. Homeschool or work together building intentional communities were these problems are addressed for all! Take an active part in what our children are learning, what we as adults, are learning. Explore perspective. Form and participate in community group action programs. We are under global attack by corporate bullies who openly break the law and laugh in our faces about it. Why? Because they are certain we will not sacrifice individually in order to build collective power and correct collective issues affecting the world population at large. They pretty sure we won't face them! They feel pretty sure of themselves, that they have buried us deep enough that actively participating to strike down the beast is just too complex and overwhelming regardless of our numbers. These are just thoughts. I do not profess to know all the answers or anything close. I don't profess to have the plan that will bring about a world action to make a real difference before it is all too late. Perhaps, this can stimulate further thought, in a spirit of cooperation. Before looking to just rip apart what's been said thus far, perhaps you can add your input to help smooth out the many rough edges. Just a place to build from.

      This was said on purpose to give an example of how some racist white people talk nonsense about the African American community.
      It's meant to be laughable and pathetic, we should all know that some people of all races and ethnic groups and nationalities smell badly, for whatever reason, but any one with any sense knows how stupid it is to say that a particular race smells more than others.
      So for you to say virtually the same thing, but from your point of view as an African American is no different than a white racist saying the same thing about black people.
      Predjudice comes from all sides, we can all be the target of bigots and racists of any colour.

    • @simonyip5978
      @simonyip5978 4 роки тому +2

      @Joy Joy do you realise that you sound like a prejudiced bigot who believes that 'all' white people smell more or smell worse than black people.
      Why would anyone smell badly after showering? And all races would smell badly if we didn't wash our bodies and hair and our clothes and our homes.
      I hate blind racism, but I think that we all have to be treated equally, so answering bigotry with bigotry is not the way to make everyone equally capable and equally responsible for their own actions and their own statements.
