Al Gore’s Nobel Peace Prize win in 2007 was, according to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, awarded because “he is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted” regarding climate change and global warming. The problem was many feel Gore was undeserving of the award since he hardly practiced what he preached. In 2006, shocking electric and gas bills from the Gore household showed that his 20-room home and “pool house” were eating up over 20 times the national average electricity usage.
Its OK, he knows its a hoax anyway
How is his use of electricity going against what he's talking about? He doesn't talk about wall outlets causing the world to rapidly heat up.
His Nobel Prize make as much sense as Obama's.
@@Warlinkable duuhhh....private jets, electricity uses coal and other fossil fuels.
@@MariannaKatz17 Exactly. It's private jets and coal mining/burning practices that have the larger impact, not the consumer plugging in an appliance to make their morning coffee. Mr. Gore exaggerates this.
Sea level rise by 2100 would only be 0.8-2m
@@d0minat0r980 2m is ~6 feet. Exaggerated or not, this is not joking matter.
The average elevation of the entire state of Florida is 6 feet above sea level. 6 feet may sound small, but its still a big deal. There's a lot of land on earth only a few meters above sea level.
If sea levels rose by 6 feet, large parts of the Floridian coasts would sink, Louisiana's already sinking Mississippi River delta would almost entirely sink, the Euphrates and Tigris river delta in Iraq would badly flood and sink large areas around them, the Central Valley in California would become at further risk of flooding from the Bay, large parts of the Kutch District in Gujarat, India, are expected to flood and sink, the Ganges river delta in Bangladesh would flood dramatically, sinking large parts of the already crowded and poor nation around the riverbanks, East Anglia in England would flood, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Atlantic German coasts would be absolutely devastated, parts of the Italian Adriatic coast around Venice would sink, most of the Pacific islands would entirely sink, the Maldives will cease to be a country as the island nation becomes entirely submerged, the Chinese coastline south of the Shandong peninsula would flood, large parts of flat southern Vietnam and Cambodia would sink and be devastated worse than the low countries in Europe, and this isn't even a fraction of all the other, less drastic flooding that will be going on.
And that's just 2 meters. Now imagine all that devastation, and triple it.
Sea levels are predicted to rise by 5-6 meters by 2300. And that's pretty much permanent. 1/10 people on Earth live 5 meters or less above the current sea level. That'll be over 800 million people by 2300. This problem isn't something we can put off, because this will be a problem not only for all of our children, but an even bigger problem for their children, and so on, and so on. This is a serious, serious issue.

Skim through the ever increasing body of literature on solar forcing and our supposed rapidly reducing magnetic field if you legitimately find yourself here for any reason other then to gauge the disillusion of this time.
It takes only a single Google search to find out solar irradiance has been DROPPING since the 80s (after a relatively stable period since the 20s), solar forcing CANNOT explain the rise in temperature we've experienced. It surely affects temperature, but if it were the major component in the current change in temperature, we should expect to have seen a drop in temperature not a rise
@@Valyssi Couple "our supposed rapidly reducing magnetic field" and "regular solar forcing" and what do we get? Wavy jet streams and rapid temp swings. Even the IPCC was forced to add this to their 2021 report, and you can read that in the technical summary pages 106, 107, and 110 as we cant post links here.
@@speedwayjesus2660 The IPCC report mentions neither solar forcing nor the magnetic field (that goes for both the technical summary and the full report). What it does mention is radiative forcing, I can easily see why that might be confused with solar forcing but it refers to the combination of solar irradiance (energy applied), greenhouse gases and albedo (reflection). It is essentially the energy flux of the earth, the sun has always been considered a part of this equation, long before the IPCC.
That still does not explain how we arrive at a higher overall temperature. You are now talking about fluctuations in temperature, it is true that fluctuations are largely due to factors such as solar cycles, but this isn't relevant to the discussion of a trend in temperatures. The seasons also cause fluctuations in temperatures, yet that seems hardly relevant too, you would agree. I repeat, although irradiance does fluctuate, we can get a picture of irradiance trends by plotting 11-year averages, those have been going down while average temperature has been going up (smoothed out to account for the fluctuations).
As for magnetic fields, it is true that the magnetic field has weakened, but the extent to which that has had an effect on our overall climate is questionable. I would certainly not throw away all research about anthropogenic emissions effects just on the guess that our weakened magnetic field can somehow explain the spike in temperatures we've seen. I definitely agree it's something worthy of more research, but it's not worth the risk of delaying climate action measures on the off-chance that we can blame all this on the magnetic field changes. It would be a bit like someone in the 80s telling people to keep using ozone depleting substances, and that isn't a far fetched analogy considering at least one proposed mechanism by which magnetic field may affect temperature is through thinning the ozone layer.
@@Valyssiwe now know that we were lied to!!!!!
