Hi Brad, glad you enjoyed the vid. Most of the new Pullman models have lights which are great as the table lamps are a real standout feature. All the best Rick
Wow nice to know I will look for them as well here Rick. Cheers mate!!!
Great show, and, except for the rain, there is something cool about it being spread over e buildings. Another great selection and wonderful layouts and bits and bobs to see! All the best to you all!
Thanks for watching Anthony.
Another great show from you both, Rick, the rain jacket is a stone groove my man.
Ha ha cheers Andy
At 33:20 they are Athearn US "blue box" kits. But would have to be the simplest to assemble kits ever. Often called "shake the box" kits since the joke was shaking the box would assemble them. Supplied with pre painted and lettered bodies, screw in bogies with wheels, US X2F older common couplers and a few extra detail parts. The kit form helped them keep the price low for a scale model. Enabled US modellers to build up very long trains in numerous livery variations at low cost.
In the nineties , in Australia, i would buy Athearn bogie hopper cars at around $7, while Hornby and Bachmann four wheel wagons were about $15.
In a similar way their bullet proof all wheel drive, all four or six axles picking up power to the central five pole twin flywheel motor would be available for less than the price of a Hornby Smokey Joe.
Athearn were doing that, now common expected design , back in the sixties. Many makes have copied them since. A real pace setting company.
Interesting comment, not a brand I am familiar with so thanks for the info. Next time I see them I will take a closer look. All the best Rick
Athern are an American HO brand, they make kits and ready to run stuff too. There's a saying that any Athern blue box loco will run no matter what as they're built like tanks
Not a brand I am familiar with so thanks for the info. All the best Rick
How have I managed to miss a model train show in Wirksworth. Years of coming to the Arts Festival! Damn!
Dunno Andy but don't forget next year. Thanks for watching Rick
Another Great Vid, I gain many ideas for my layout watching you these clips. All the best to you both. 😊😊
Thanks Malcolm
40:08 Thanks for another informative video. The British Warship classes were built to the design of the Deutsch Bundesbahn V200 diesel-hydraulic from 1952. So both Märklin and Fleischmann released the Warship as a HO version as well as the German V200. Being HO there was not a ready market in the UK, so numbers were not large.
Thanks Kimball, I do like the Warships and it's a bit of a surprise that I am yet to buy one. All the best Rick
I notice Pauline is looking more at the N gauge stock, cracked it pal👍. That Log Dump Station would go well with a Saniflow 33, great vid😁
N gauge is fab as we can get more in shot as regards the Log dump it's handy if you have elderly relatives. 😂😂
Every iteration of Life-like HO packaging was represented there from 1960's to 2005 (closing)
Interesting, the first harbour layout was a Belgian sene, about the time I started at Belgian national rail. The big diesel in the back ground is a type 62, I use to drive those. The engine was a GM and is the same engine as in a class 66 only difference are the electronics. At start up we had to manually turn the engine over with a lever to see if the gasket didn't leak water above the cylinders. Let me tel you that would warm you up even if it was freezing in winter.
😂
With a class 66 that is electronically monitored, and if there is a leak it won't start, and the gaskets are better then then I suppose.
And the little shunter (type 73 or 84) was my first loco I drove on my first service, freshly graduated after two and half years hard studying.
In those days you had to know everything railway related. Now young drivers learn only the things they have to, for instance if you are to become a shunting driver, you only learn that part.
So when you graduated it was custom you did the diesel tanking run that went on every Saturday, Because our tank installation at depot Leuven was broken, all the shunters where put together and in a train of max 60Kmh (37mph) we had to drive to Depot Hasselt (about 50Km/ 31m) to fill them all up or exchange them for service and drive back.
Those where the days, you smelled of diesel and were full of grease, and those locomotives had no suspension either, so you felt like sitting 6H in a blender…no wonder my back is gone now😞
I love the British variety on plank wagons, the ad's on them are so beautiful, I think that was one of the first reasons why I collect only British OO now, just love them, and always you discover new ones.
The only problem I have, is that to me they had to exist in reality, and that is sometimes difficult and confusing.
And the London Underground 😍🥰very high on my wanted list, but unfortunately also were expensive, time will tell…
But again super nice video, watching them always set me off to do some model building.
So thank you very much Rick & Pauline, for sharing them with us…
Cheers,
Danny
Glad you enjoyed the Belgian scene Danny and thanks for sharing your driving memories. All the best Rick
good vid
Thanks Lee
So the million $ question Rick….. Did you get the Mainline ‘Fraser’ wagon?
I did indeed, I've got a full length bargain filmed from the show which will be out next week. Cheers Rick
Awwww rick another crompton thank you for another ex vid again both of you from Pete .
Thanks Pete
American Pauline? Now you are stretching Rule 1! lol
Well and truly broken 😂
Great vid, it's a nice way to start a Sunday. I'm loving that pullman observation carriage, i was thinking about modelling my Flying Scotsman around its USA tour, with double tenders and an observation car but i wasn't sure if the carriages were available in 00 or if I'd have to rework and scratch build them. Who made the observation carriage, do you have any idea? A video appeared last night showing the Scotsman out the shed again so I'm guessing the Royal Scotsman carriage must have sustained all the damage in the shunting incident.
Thanks very much, the coach is a Hornby model and we do see quite a lot of them. It's expensive but not hard to find. The touring Scotsman sounds like a great idea. All the best Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways Thanks, I'll need to search for one now.

I have edited it to remove most of them. I use youtube default settings for ads. Might take a while for changes to happen. Cheers Rick
