This episode has even more meaning today than Michael Landon would have ever believed.....
if you only knew
Yes indeed 👍God bless our men and women in blue that are honest and follow Gods commandments and have a heart to help people - and may God deal with the evil hearted men and women who may have evil intentions and hate : ❤️

This popped up in my YT feed this morning. My mum passed away yesterday. It was her favourite show. She was listening to Highway to Heaven when she was very poorly in hospital before she passed away. It was the only thing that gave her peace. She died April first Australian time but March 31 UK time and this very old show has an April first content. Coincidences today well I like to think not. Blessings instead. Thank you mum for getting me to watch your show today - a good mum, the best. Your in heaven now - the real show all around you. I hope Michael Landon greeted you on arrival- you would have liked that very much. 🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing this .Yes your mom for sure got to meet him.May she rest wonderfully in 🕊️ peace.
Please watch highway to heaven episode ,For the love of Larry..
@@fridperon9593 I will look for that one tonight. Where have all the uplifting clean TV shows gone. Thank you for replying too - it’s been almost a year and I had long since forgotten I wrote this. Gives me a reminder of just where my head was back then it’s been a difficult year.
Blessings and best of health to you and yours. 🙏

@@shantishanti1949 I hope by now, you are at peace and living your best life. I lost my mom three years ago, then just lost my dad two months ago. It’s a tough part of life to lose your parents..
My father went to high school with Eugene Orowitz (Michael Landon’s real name) in Collingswood, NJ. He changed his name when he made it in Hollywood. Funny thing is, my dad told us Eugene was a bit of a troublemaker in high school and wasn’t a serious student. I’m glad he grew up to be a decent man and a very good actor, who insisted on doing projects that were meaningful and instilled values.
Just wanted to share this fun fact and hope you are well. 🙏✝️😇
I always loved Landon's sense of humor. If you listen to the background music, it is a take off on Dragnet. Way to go Michael.
It was directed by Victor French.

Dragnet and Highway to Heaven were both originally aired NBC shows.
@@forcelifeforceI like French more.. better actor imo
Wouldn't it be nice if networks started making this kind of quality programming again?
The networks want shows that normalize the abnormal these days. If it's family friendly, they don't want it.
@Joe Duke Because this is America and they have a right to exist, even though you disagree. It's called Free Speech.
@Joe Duke You don't have the right to tell anyone how to live.
@Joe Duke I am not the one advocating 100,000 people attacking a TV station because you don't like what they say.
This should be played on tv 24-7
This episode needs to be aired primetime special on all networks today
💯 Agreed
Michael Landon was interviewed once and said coming off the highly successful Bonanza he was offered a multitude of "cop" characters to play in his next series but he didn't see himself as a cop. Now that I think about it, he NEVER played a cop ever and this episode makes me realize he wasn't right for that role. He just doesn't look "right" in a uniform. He was meant to be the everyman or the pioneer.
This is insignificant, but I like how so many women wore long dresses back then. You just don't see that now. They had their hair done, nice clothes. I remember my mama taking so long to get ready for work in the 80's and leaving the house in a dress with hair done but it took her an hour so I understand why they don't do this today, but still, it's nice to see.
I'd give anything to see the days of old or way back when women respected their bodies, had dignity n class.
It is nice when women are modest but not prideful. Balance is what I'd like.
Yes I agree
I mean I get it, but I'm 14 and my mom takes twice as long to get ready for anything.🤣🤣🤣
Back when people had respect for themselves and others...
Directed by Victor French.
Wow, good work.
Highway to heaven well there's no to Highway to but with Michael Landon's programs such as Little House on the Prairie ..., Highway to heaven even Bonanza screen time with television was a lot safer for families... It was a blessing and encouragement with that teaching children as well families to love each other showing God's love to each other WISH-TV have the same values likewise did in the 80s
Leanne Anweiler
Now the opposite is promoted, no manners, gay agenda, transgenders, that's what every show promotes nowadays. Drag queens in kindergartens, unbelievable!
Today’s TV is designed to destroy the family unit, promoting sick twisted warped agendas of the satanic elite.
Time we put them in their place.
For our children and their children after.
As GOD intended
it seems these films didn't impress much at the time....there's more hatred than love nowadays! What makes you think it will change anything nowadays!
The stuff going on today in the us this episode of HTH is quite poetic.
i wish more people could just show a little more love in this world.
it would make this life a better experience. as i grow and learn, i try
to do my best everyday, it is not easy, but i will try to help, because
if you win i win too.everything we do we have to do for our children;s
children. our ancestors worked for thousands of years for us to have
this time and our life styles.it is our turn to do the same,God bless us
all and who is ever reading this.
As important and powerful today as it was over 35 years ago.
I miss the 1980s. Much better TV
90s too
Theres good shows in this era too - Daredevil, Marco Polo, Travelers, Chicago Fire, Badlands
@@Actionnelll only seen Travelers out of that bunch. Bummed out they canceled season 3. Good show.
Nelley Knight my & = m*/p
@@Actionnelll I'm sure those are all well made shows but nothing today has the same meaning or power as shows back then. These were shows whole families could watch and people could say they grew up with. They don't make shows like that anymore because everything is too dark and gritty and about demographics not about appealing to any and everyone.
I loved the acknowledgement reference to Dragnet, all the codes of Adam-12, & the very similar uniforms of Emergency! Very creative & well thought out! The Good Lord be with all of our police, firefighters & military!
NBC “lets all be there” as the marketing slogan went in the mid 80s. All those shows you listed were NBC
Wow, this is a surprisingly dark and intense story for Highway to Heaven. Good stuff.
Hands down one of the best shows ever.
Ronald Hawkins
No kidding Ronald, now we have to watch shows with a gay, a transgender, and a three legged dog, all attacking the racist white people.
What’s wrong with being gay

Nothing other then having a mental problem!
Yes it was
@@Saracinderallasushis Michael Landon was no different than the liberals nowadays, he just belonged to a different generation of Hollywood weirdos so he seems a little more tame in comparison. If he were alive today he'd be wearing a BLM tshirt.
It was cool to see Jonathan genuinely afraid. Most people forget that Jonathan is on probation. I think that, on the positive side, without "the stuff," he REALLY enjoyed that sandwich! French and Landon had such chemistry together. RIP to them both.
Why was he on probation?
On probation? I think youre delusional
@@rocknroll7065 No. He's a new angel. He didn't do anything wrong, but he has to earn his wings. As I understand it, new angels are sent to Earth to help people. How they do determines if they get their wings. I watched every episode of this. Jonathan screws up quite a bit. He ALMOST got "fired" permanently by disobeying God. Mark spoke up for him. He also denounced God when his wife died. Jonathan is still very much human. It sucks we never got a true series finale.
WIKIPEDIA
Jonathan Smith, formerly a man who lived on earth named Arthur Thompson, is now a "probationary" angel sent to Earth to help people in need. In the course of an "assignment", he meets Mark Gordon, an embittered retired policeman now bouncing from job to job. At first distrustful of Jonathan, Mark helps him complete his assignment and soon comes to realize his true nature, and is then given a job by "The Boss" (i.e. God): to assist Jonathan in helping troubled people on Earth. Jonathan and Mark are given assignments where they help various troubled souls overcome their problems.
@@jokerinthebronx ok now i understand. I thought probation was referring to probation in the court system
@@ciabrister2464 Start with season 1, episode 1. It all starts there.
Remember when most TV shows made you want to do the right thing? Be the heroe? Help someone? I miss shows like this. Even the goofy shows like The Dukes of Hazzard and The A Team told you you should be honest and help people.
That's exactly what I have been showing my ten year old kid. Great knowing there are more who think alike 👍
Goofy shows? Those were 2 of the best shows on TV at the time.

I remember as a kid my dad loved Highway to Heaven and would make me watch it too... This show always showcased a variety of the pragmatic worldviews and many teachable moments.
Loved it before and loving it again. Thanks 😊
LOL The Ending ! Straight out of "Dragnet " LOL !
A Show that has transcend time with compassion, love, gratitude, graciousness. Reinstating faith on humanity.
They are just so good together
The problem adressed is of foremost importance up to this day. May our Lord bless our families with Wisdom! Thank you Mr. Landon for your compassionate work!
Lol I love dragnet as well. Awesome episode
Fun entertaining TV! RIP Michael and Victor xx
As one who has worked both in law enforcement and security I can testify there are people exactly like those 3 old ladies. Instead of being grateful and thankful that none of them were hurt and also none of their possessions were completely lost but recovered they complain over one friggin' door that can be replaced. Lives and a lot more in that situation could be replaced. It is like police officers and security get treated worse than the robbers and muggers. This still happens in the world today.
DEFINITELY
I loved this show it was Real live real people. Real emotions how people were supposed to be with each other the best actor we ever had. A Real Angel😇💖
One of the greatest shows ever
Haven't seen this show since I was growing up in the 80s...caught a wave nostalgia for a moment
classic TV, meaningful & bittersweet.
I liked the small bit of drag net music
I am amazed that we have anyone who is willing to be a police officer today.

Love these programmes in the old days when TV came to south Africa bonanza little house on the prairie iron horse with Michael Landon may his soul rest in piece died in1991
Very good episode as always. Jonathon slow to get his gun out unlike Michael Landon's Joe Cartwright. Great acting. Thanks.
Great episode!
Michael looks so handsome with those black sunglasses on!
He looks handsome in anything! 😍😜
Jonathan Smith is a greatest.
That was a time when shows had a lot of meaning and a lot of heart that same scenario must have happened thousands of times since then but without the same ending

He carries a Heart...
Poor man, i bet every parents thinks "Where did my boy/sweet little girl go?" when their kids turn bad....my heart went out to him.

At 15:42 Dragnet Theme...LOL At the end they do the Dragnet style ending. I knew I was right!
Michael done said back on Johnny Carson there was no copy rite laws so.. He did what he did joke a round and made great tv.
I loved the ending. It made me laugh. The other part of the story was truly sad tho. Too many kids are still lost to the streets and have lifes of crime and drugs. Even when parents do their best and raise them right. #BACKTHEBLUE

The episode sends the wrong message. Whether a gun is loaded or not, you don't point it toward law enforcement. If it is not a real gun, you don't point it either. If you don't drop a gun after being told to do so, expect to be shot almost immediately.

The reason I made that comment was partly because of the other comments I saw that were replies to comments that were years old and the reason I put it here was because this person had two comments in a row, one right above the other but dated 3 years apart. I thought that was strange.

Wasn't Johnathan a soldier in WW 2 before he was killed ?
Arthur Thompson was kind of an inventor and tinkerer of sorts prior to his death in the 40s due to lung cancer.

Best part from 22:13 to 27:13 that sweet old lady 😘
So why did they arrest the first guy. He didn`t brandish a firearm and he didn`t tell the clerk that it was a holdup.?? I like the Martin Luther King and the JFK pictures hanging on the wall at 39:30
Thought it was just me thinking this way.
Why do they put cuss words onto the subtitles, when the actors do not utter them?
What a pair of cops they made. One with a beard, one with hair long enough to be considered to be a latter- day hippy.
