It's been hard. Like a divorce. And I did keep going back haha. So cutting ties has been hard. And I don't think you ever really let go entirely (ok- maybe that's just me). But it just frustrated me so much... and I couldn't let go of those frustrations. And that stopped me getting the most out of life. I still feel quite sad about it- but the scales are now tipping to the point where I'm more excited about what the future could be like
Congrats Emma. So happy for you. Thank you for sharing. Please continue to share more as this is also great for branding. Plus it really help your customers go through the journey with you.
This was really interesting, thank you! And congratulations on the success you have enjoyed with your new venture. Fellow GP here. I have recently resigned as I could not face returning to the chaos and dysfunction after maternity leave. I have dreams of being my own boss but, as you describe, I am not sure what my own business will look like! Can I ask what you have done with your NHS pension? Have you been able to transfer it to a private pension? I am really worried about all that hard-earned money being lost!
I've been out of the NHS pension scheme for a while- the idea of the constant forms and listening to my friends having to constantly chase them all sounded too much. Best of luck to you! Having children really re-sets your priorities. I would never wish for Henry to work in medicine so I wondered why I was putting myself through it. So sad- hope it changes in the future- I think it will- but likely not in the way we're hoping for x
This was so interesting and helpful, thank you for making this video, truly. A question on clientele, are most of your clients still return clients from your UA-cam followers? If not how do you grow your clientele to expand beyond your followers?
Initially yes- but through being on Etsy and then other social media like the Vantage TikTok channel its grown further- plus some people who buy the items have shown them on their channels and this has grown a new audience. I find it so interesting!
hi Emma, I am a addicted follower of you. Well done with the business. How much research did you do before you decided to go ahead with your agenda idea. ? Also, why are they different to others, and how do you design them for reaching out to all sorts of ladies with different needs in their business
Thank you 🥰. The inserts have gilt edges and are hand foiled on every page. They're not for everyone- but for those who enjoy the small details and the little exquisite extras - which is my personal passion. Research wise- I could have done more. I looked into competitors, market data etc. One aspect of all the designs is they are very flexible. In recent years I've become increasingly interested in neurodiversity and realised so many paper planners have headings and pre-prescribed sections that don't fit a lot of people. Vantage's inserts are designed to be flexible to different clients and also for a client to change and evolve how they use them too- it's about making a planner fit you- rather than trying to fit your needs into a planner
I have a quick question, what do people use agenda for? I understand it’s a planner but everyone use computer, digital calendar etc. is your business support other businesses where they give your planners to schools, companies etc.. it’s nice to see you back ❤
Thanks. There are a lot of people who still enjoy paper planning. Neurologically the act of writing is better for memory and some people just enjoy it. I have never really got into digital planning- I use it occasionally but love paper planning. I do have interest from businesses in using our planners but our sales are mainly straight to client
So glad you are back and are doing so well ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience! Hearing of your setbacks but also of your enduring resilience is very inspiring indeed.
Congratulations on all you have achieved so far . As a fellow GP I can’t imagine ditching medicine and setting up my own business . Scary stuff 😂
