@@naomigray5520 Aaliyah was well, Aaliyah, so it makes sense why people were and are still devastated over her death. Lisa was a great rapper and was one of the main reasons for TLC's success, but not on the same league as Aaliyah in terms of fame or star power.

They called Aaliyah QUEEN! :) Aaliyah and Left Eye were both young and great artists. Sad thing for Left Eye is that although TLC had more successes and popularity than Aaliyah, people in the industry will tend to forget what she did as a Female rapper being a part of a Girl Group. Groups sometimes overshadow the individual on what they did, that shall be remembered. Left Eye laid big contributions to Female Rap/HipHop. She was creative, sassy and always articulate with her rhymes. Still to this day, no Hip Hop female can ever be brave enough to rap and come up with what she did on songs like "WaterFalls" and "No Scrubs." Left Eye was literally the female Tupac on a rise. R.I.P to both.

OK can I say something left eye was no tupac dude she's her own beautiful person and so was Aaliyah biggie tupac Bob Marley Michael Jackson left eye Aaliyah and Whitney Houston paved the way for these new artist they can not be replaced by no one in the industry they may try but they always fail to become legends like these talented souls

daniel dion washington Shouldn't had said nothing lol. Kidding but I meant Left Eye's message in her rap verses and her album conveyed almost the same thing that Pac talked about and she did kinda rap like him but totally had her style to it.

They did get loud for Aaliyah I think thats because he death was so out of the ordinary for someone so young at just 22.. Lefteye actually lived a longer life and pretty much accomplished legendary status in the music industry before her death Aaliyah never had the opportunity to achieve that before death.. I think it's a sympathetic cheer!

Left eye and Aaliyah were my favorite people. Tho Lisa's style and music is pretty crazy&funky her mind, vibe, spirit was the best thing ever. She always tried her best and was very misunderstood, she was very aware of what was happening to her and was very intelligent and her words were inspiring. She trusted her Lord and worked hard for everything.
Her solo music didnt last long, yet it was still beautiful. Her lyrics were always unique and she never tried to be something she wasnt. Always embraced herself and her style is dead inspiring.
Aaliyah was so young .... yet she released a debut album at 14 or 15 and showed the world thr Aaliyah Swag. She was already in the music industry at 12. She survived abuse as a little girl, but she put rkelly to the side and focused on her career. YES !. Then she found new producers and made a 2nd studio album and she showed her vocal ability to the world and made other hits that were non-stop playing on the radio. She let the world know her class, creativity and vocals at 17 years old ! She was performing at important award shows and rising so young. Then she dropped her 3rd, final studio album "Aaliyah". The choreographys were unmatched and she delivered a new style in both fashion and music. She was rising to fame simply. She was growing and became more mature over the time. Most of her outfits are a piece of fashion history from that year.
Her songs birthed so many of today's artists, her personality was smooth and happy. She was always embracing her true self, she was always being herself. She was insane.
Rest in peace to both of these souls, one dead at 30, one dead at 22, both dead due to tragic accidents at such young ages.

Aaliyah graduated HS with a perfect 4.0 GPA and two multiple platinum albums under her belt, Aaliyah was a pioneer and innovator, Aaliyah's "Try Again" is the first and only song to hit Billboards Hot 100 at #1 based solely on radio requests, Aaliyah was an internationally successful and beloved artist BEFORE her death, The movie "Honey" that made Jessica Alba a star was written for Aaliyah, Whitney Houston handpicked Aaliyah to be the star in the "Sparkle" remake that she shelved for years after Aaliyah's death until she met Jordin Sparks, Aaliyah was the first choice for the the role of "Alex" in Charlies Angels a role that went to Lucy Lu (They opted not to case Aaliyah because they felt she may have been too young) Aaliyah not only signed on to star in two sequels to the mega franchise The Matrix she had already began filming, I could go on but I'll stop there, Nothing is funnier than people who try an talk about her legacy and impact as if they are old enough to remember where they were when the news broke.

Her bodyguard was the other who survived if I recall correctly. He apparently helped them identify the ones who perished and told them what happened. I think he mentioned that they were arguing with the pilot while Aaliyah sat with her headphones on and sung to herself to block out the arguing. He said that he felt like he was on fire and unfortunately passed on the way to the hospital. I heard that Eric was the ones who died in the crash.

I've read that she wasn't that badly disfigured from the crash. She was easily identifiable. The burns were supposedly only on her arms and she had a blow to the back of her head so it wasn't visible from the front and I believe that her casket was closed because her family didn't want to see her like that and would've rather remembered her for when she was alive. Can't say I blame them.

    • @aarondixon460
      @aarondixon460 Рік тому +3

Her family saw her remains. It was closed to the public. Her coroner's inquest stated that #Aaliyah passed away from severe burns and a blow to the head. And she had a weak heart. The shock alone sent her into cardiac arrest. Aaliyah died instantly, it was quick. Other known factors surrounding her tragic demise is that her mother dressed her in all white and got her a beautiful wig. Her remains were worked on and preserved for her home going. So tragic. Aaliyah was so beautiful and sweet. She absolutely did not deserve to leave that way. Rest in peace to these beautiful women.

@@aarondixon460that’s what I read too. Even if Aaliyah would’ve survived the crash, her recovery would’ve been impossible. I've never heard about her sweat pants being burned or anything like that. Just her arms. Where did you read this at. I kinda feel bad for the pilot if he was still somewhat alive after that and in that condition but I'm sure that they said that only 2-3 of them managed to survive the crash and all the others died on impact.

  • @KeesusChrist

@lilsexysk8ter LeftEye probably didn't get much praise as Aaliyah because Aaliyah was 22, everywhere, people loved her for her personality and cool nature. Plus, almost all of the guys had a crush on her and young girls wanted to be like her. Before Lefteye died, she didn't have the best public image. I remember she was beefing with Chili and Tboz about going solo and selling records. And usually a solo artist get more praise than a group. With TLC, they were a team, unlike Beyonce and DC.

for those that read this about Aaliyah leaving early. She was on her way to do a mtaw remiz with damon producer just blaze and freeway.
    www.google.com/amp/hiphopdx.com
Damon should have scheduled that for another day. She was tired and shouldve rested and left sunday. She had another project to complete and was just trying to get it all done. Freeway says damon setup the remix. ua-cam.com/video/5wjXbO900ZY/v-deo.html
She didnt know the plane waa overloaded and it was a smaller plane that requested. Her parents won this death lawsuit it wasnt her fault. Somone called from her label annoymously and told the airport to skip tje weight check of the plane.

@xosimplykerryxo you sound really bitter... that's never good. Aaliyah had a reputation for being a sweet easy going girl next door. People liked her in the industry and she had just put out her biggest most accomplished album. Left eye was a star in her own right but she did not have the fame around her when she died. Aaliyah was about to hit her peak.

I love both of these women to death-though Though I personally resonated with Left eye more personality wise. I believe the reason Aaliyahs showcase here got more attention is because 1# that audience from it seemed was having it's intermission; hence the fewer claps for Lisa. Also Aaliyah dying so young at the time of her death, and her death being very brutal at that, resonated a lot more with people. I agree that her death was WAYYY more shocking, and tragic. Lisa's death while still very sad and tragic, happened when TLC were kind of past their prime, and on their way out. Had Lisa's death occurred at the height of their prime- after the crazysexycool album or during the fanmail era, her death would have been much bigger, and left a bot of a bigger impact.

th3azscorpio i agree!!! Also, I think people didn’t understand Left Eye at that time. I’m glad that her family released the doc The Last Days of Left Eye. It really showed her true personality and all of the issues she went through. I was hurt by Aaliyah’s death. Left eyes death wasn’t as shocking because of the reasons you stated. Also, in Left eye’s documentary, she felt that a spirit was chasing her. I think that she knew it was her time to go. Her mom said in a magazine that left Eye said that she would pass away soon.

Tbh TLC was at the height of their fame in 2002 after the success of fan mail but the next album after fan mail flopped because of left eye passing overshadowing the album.

It happens to everyone who dies really young. But, saying that she's overrated is much. Yes, Left Eye was probably an overall better musician than Aaliyah but there is no need to tear Aaliyah down because people have given her more tributes/attention after he death than they have for Left Eye. That's not her fault; she's dead for heaven's sake. What about Selena? She gets little to no mentions when people talk about musicians who passed away prematurely.
