And you'd think these stores would figure out a way to block entry to their stores goods, and have their clerks get the goods a customer wants, bring it to a counter, and after payment, pass the item under the counter via a drawer. Customers could walk in to get out of the weather, but would have to stand at the counter. Then ask a clerk to get the item they want. Which would be picked and brought to the counter by the clerk. @@mexreax4493 you know, I always felt the same way specifically for big corporate chain restaurants. Not that it was ok to diamond dash a resturaunt but rather that all these corporate places do is create generic mediocre food. Theres no heart or soul at a fuckin dominoes and it bewilders me when I see them in business.
But now seeing your comment I change my mind. These big corporations could be accused of having cheap labor but atleast it’s something. CURRENTLY, the best we got at the bottom is minimum wage and perhaps for some people thats their current LIVELIHOOD!
So to respond to your comment, whats the alternative to shopping at a big corporate store? Perhaps, shop at a smaller store? Cause currently, shoplifting at corporate stores WILL cause them to shut down thus laying off dozens of workers -THAT I KNOW YOU MUST CARE ABOUT- thus leaving NO merchandise to steal in the first place.

@Cam R. - I live in SoCal and things are bad here too.
I hear a lot of people complain about the high taxation, high gas prices, cost of living, high crime rates, etc.
But, when I ask them for whom they voted...they did it for candidates who blatantly supported policies that created these atrocious conditions.
Those voters deserve what they got.
The ones who did not...do not deserve this.

I love the media - "retail theft has always been a problem in SF" ... Yea for 40 years there have ALWAYS been dozzens of shoplifters running into stores, filling up bags and running out ... sssssssuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrreeeee. Lame attempt by the media to normalize whats going on in SF.

What the stores need to do is raise the price of every single item on the shelf to $951 but offer discount coupons at the register. That way any theft is considered a felony.
