Good Morning everyone!! Today I cover Tommy the Cat by Primus. This one was a blast to cover! Tim Alexander is by far the best drummer this band has ever had. Period. His cleaver use of the double bass pedal really had an impression on me in the early stages of my drumming development. If you haven't listened to this band before, I encourage you to check them out. - Mathis
What's up UA-camrs, I just wanted to say Mathis and I are working on concepts for a new year of Dreamlab Drums. One big thing I want to improve is the lighting. Watching movies and seeing the lighting affects the scene. So this video is a lab rat for a few types of lighting improvements I am working on for the next year, but this won't be the only thing I am striving to improve upon. The next year is gonna be awesome! - Riggs
Enjoy!!

Such an underrated drum part. It's overshadowed by the man, the myth, the legend on bass. But it's such a clean and underrated drum part.
Thanks man!
Groovefunkmetal!!
3:19 the title didnt mention an air bass
Okay, the drum cover was sick. But that room, and the kit really complete it. Seriously, that room is a musicians dream
It's probably rob chapmans house lol
+Why so serious? (: :D actually it's my house/studio
The mix, however, was much less of a dream :p
To be fair, the performance was spot-on.
And what makes the mix off? How would you have done it better? Do you have any recordings for us all to make comparisons?
This.
The drums really make that bass shine in this song. Great job. I'm a bassist and came here to be able to hear the drums more clearly. Flawless.
Ianthebassist Thanks so much man!
Honestly the whole band is nothing but raw talent It’s amazing what three guys can do
Tim Alexander is the Les Claypool of drums!!!
Well said
Indeed, he wrote amazing pieces, my favorite is "Pudding Time".
I find your lack of the chinese cymbal in this cover disturbing.
Edit: Nevermind, you used it.
Damn that snare is CRISSSPYY
My drum kit is set up the exact same way. Awesome
Holy shit, you make that kit sound amazing.
***** Thanks man!
+Dreamlab Drums Just saw this, haha. No problem!
I really love this
That is fucking class mate, loved watching, drums sound brilliant, primus are amazing, roll on manchester on the 24th :)
Neat.
Awesome drum cover! I love the sound of your snare and was wondering how you tighten the resonant and batter heads because I've always had trouble with that.
Anthony Villa Riggs uses a drum dial and all I know number wise is he always tunes the top 5 more than the bottom number.
Absolutely Beautiful!
Please do "Pudding Time".
From your cover alone, i am going to learn this tune... THIS IS FREAKIN AWESOME
It's so clean, that you could do a brain surgery there.
I like your technique, left hand on snare on 16th note. Very impressive! :)
Thank you bro!!
This is how a cover should sound! Superb, 10/10
Thanks!
Tight as fuck and that kit sounds amazing.
Fucking awesome. I couldn't figure it out by ear so thank you for this. Much appreciated
Oh Yeah! Work those hats!
Now that´s a very good drumsound. Sadly you don´t hear such quality that often on modern albums.
fuck yes! your kit even sounds like tim's (especially that boomy kick drum).
Jesus christ dude you RIPPED that dude! that is some difficult single bass kicks.
Thanks man!
The drum intro shows an interesting similaritiy to the drum intro to that of moby dick i wonder if it was inspired by that
I have watched this video countless times.A man who can play the drums always wins my heart.
🤘🏼🔥
Great cover, man! I'd pick a different set of hi hats, but that kit sounds AMAZING! This is why I want a DW!
How much do you wanna bet you can't play the song elephant ghost perfectly that song is a monster
I know you are one of the best drummers I've seen, better than that annoying Casey Cooper but just listen just search up
elephant ghost primus
I’m gonna look it up! Thank you so much for the kind commits man. 🤘🏼
@@DreamlabDrums God I like people like you thank you for listening and be prepared
@@DreamlabDrums so how do you think?
What snare is that? Is sexy dreamy and totally butters
You should do a how-to play video of this song 💕
ERRRRRRR wrong.
Nobody knows that this is a take on “Johnny The Fox” by Thin Lizzy. Even the drum start at the beginning is homage to Brian Downeys drum intro for the song.
@3:27 .....drummers....did you hear the press roll miss? I'm nitpicking brah....great job.
What a lovely sound your drums make, thanks man this is very entertaining in all aspects of music
Great cover. Tim Alexander is such a sick fucking drummer.
Thanks man. Yes he is!
Goooood performance!!! I was expecting you to add some of your own funk groves but it didn’t happen. Either way you stayed true to the music and aced it like a champ.
