If my ends are damaged I tell my stylist to cut off what is needed, I know I'll be better off later. I understand though sometimes you just want to hold on to it. With that being said you did a beautiful job!!! Not blaming the stylist by the way.
She have a ton of beautiful hair and put extensions in there. I used to not understand when people told me to wear my own hair and now I do. It's a cute style though ❤️

I would tell her to get rid of it all if need be but not everyone wants to do that and her being mindful of her clients wishes is part of what makes her a great stylist. The stylist is doing her job. The client will pay the consequences of her decision in the long run. Instead of getting those inches cut she will now have to deal with extra damage because her hair will no doubt continue to split. I get what your saying and yes a cut, braid down and sew in would have been better but it doesn’t matter what makes obvious sense when the client is requesting/paying for a certain style. Who knows maybe the studio recommended a better option and she refused. Regardless, the client wanted what she got and got what she asked for. Studio did a great job on the tape install and blend which is the style the client wanted.

If you constantly get your hair done every two to three weeks it will grow and you won’t have dead’s ends if you maintain you’re hair. Ppl that cut them all off don’t have regular salon visits and don’t know what they are talking about.
Some people will hold onto raggedy ends just to say they have length. Why are people so vested in length when it looks like crap. (Not to say her hair looks like crap but those ends sure did) You did amazing job, but she really needs to revisit that trim in the future.

I’m a Licensed Cosmetologist and her hair was really that bad but I always cut where a client wants me to cut. I also use a split end repair so it’s not that bad to wait to cut it later on.
I’d like to think those with an #opinion about how much is cut or not cut, is based on the health of ALL of her hair. The overall health of the Client’s hair is not the question. It is the condition of her #ends that force comments like the ones some people leave. Her #ends were in fact JACKED. Split ends continue to split unless cut above the split! The middle was splitting higher than the sides. Neglecting to address it only allows it time to split further up the shaft. That’s Hair Science; not an opinion! She doesn’t have to cut anymore than she wants to, of course. But also; If you can’t recognize damaged ends, I understand why it maybe confusing as to why some leave the comments they do.
Although I agree about cutting off the see-through ends, I can see if she held on to them because it blends better with the extensions. If she got more cut it would look blunt and poke out of the extensions more in a high ponytail.
It’s required, not a courtesy. Some just don’t extend that courtesy….But any Stylist of their salt recommends a trim….And how much a client is willing to cut if needed. She’s a #pro no doubt, but not because of that.

Growing up,being mixed my mom always told me to wash once a week and my hair would never grow. My hair was barely to my shoulders my whole childhood and early teen days. I used wild growth every weekend and washed it daily. My hair now grows super quick and many times my hair has grown down to my butt after trimming

My scalp hair grows incredibly slowly. My fingernails and toenails grow swiftly, and my underarm hair grows swiftly. My leg hair barely grows at all, thankfully. Every body is different.

Sometimes curly hair just never gets thick at the bottom. Especially when it gets long. And what may look like bad ends really is just the difference in lenghts. It's that nape to the op bone hair that doesn't grow .
The stylist did a good job of hiding that damaged hair in her middle back. Hopefully she'll get the rest of the damage cut off soon. Her hair will be much healthier for it.

Hair grows from the roots😳 So of course it’s going to continue to grow. That’s not what’s being said. Split ends DO NOT correct themselves!!! The only “correction” is to cut them off. Or else they WILL continue to split up the whole hair shaft….Requiring more hair needing to be cut once it is addressed. I didn’t see anyone say that “hair that has split ends won’t grow?”👀
Some people are attached to their hair even if it’s damaged. Clipping her ends would have been a massive cut and that dramatic change probably would have floored her too much. Either way you have blessed hands and I’m glad you gave her the option.

The middle section at the back is breaking because she obviously wears a lot of ponytails. The better way was to trim.it to that point because her hair will grow out healthier specially with the extensions but some people don't know what it is.
People really need to stop trying to hold on to hair especially when they already have length. What people don’t understand about breakage is when you don’t choose to let it ALL go it will continue splitting up the shaft making the damage worse and worse. To the point where your hair will just look thin and her hair already looked thin in the spots where it was breaking. The fact that she’s getting extensions this would’ve been the best time to correct the damage and get a good cut. A good haircut is always best for healthy hair and keeping up with them as well. When booking an appt, do we need to purchase the hair in advance or can we purchase at the appt? Because I'm not sure which hair to purchase to blend the best once my hair reverts when working out or swimming.

Hair grows from the roots😳 So of course it’s going to continue to grow. That’s not what’s being said.
Split ends DO NOT correct themselves!!! The only “correction” is to cut them off. Or else they WILL continue to split up the whole hair shaft….Requiring more hair needing to be cut once it is addressed.

Some people are attached to their hair even if it’s damaged. Clipping her ends would have been a massive cut and that dramatic change probably would have floored her too much. Either way you have blessed hands and I’m glad you gave her the option.

I do. I don't let them doctors do everything they want. I barely go, and when I do... Anyway she shoulda cut them raggly ends the way she does her 4C clients.😏
The middle section at the back is breaking because she obviously wears a lot of ponytails. The better way was to trim.it to that point because her hair will grow out healthier specially with the extensions but some people don't know what it is.
People really need to stop trying to hold on to hair especially when they already have length. What people don’t understand about breakage is when you don’t choose to let it ALL go it will continue splitting up the shaft making the damage worse and worse. To the point where your hair will just look thin and her hair already looked thin in the spots where it was breaking. The fact that she’s getting extensions this would’ve been the best time to correct the damage and get a good cut. A good haircut is always best for healthy hair and keeping up with them as well. You did your thing though. Looked great 💁🏾♀️
