I have been a longtime fan of Naval and was looking to learn more about his background and found this. Great video, thank you, Love it!
I'm a big fan of Naval and learned a ton I didn't know here! Thanks again for another great video John.
That’s awesome to hear. The Epinions story is so interesting, but Naval can’t talk about it! So we don’t hear this story often. It’s a really important one though!
I wish you remade a video on Naval. Love this video... But love how your videos are formatted now❤❤❤
Great video! Super well researched. Naval fan reporting in!
Love these "the saga" videos!
Awesome, there is basically an unlimited amount of material here. So many interesting personal stories about tech people. Definitely have a bunch more planned.
I'm binging three videos at the same time John! Love your content!
Hahah, love to hear that. Please let me know what video is your favorite! I’m trying to decide what content to make more of.
Fantastic editing john and really good use of sources
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude- this was an awesome video; thanks for making this
Really liked the detailed explanation,thanks
If someone hasnt read The Almanac of Naval Ravikant already, you MUST do so. a lot of these tweets are included in that book and its an eye opener
Nice vid ! Not much else like this out there about Naval
John thanks for informing us keep uploading
For sure. I have a bunch more of these planned.
God these videos are soooooo good! Thanks John you're the best. Subscribed on UA-cam and followed on Twitter :)
Great video, love naval and got this recommended
Great video 🙌🏻
His Twitter thread really got viral. I remember when I was creating my Twitter account, he was in my list of suggestions of accounts to follow, along with people like Elon Musk.
I didn't even know who he was at the time
Yeah, it’s kind of crazy how the full backstory on these people gets buried. I suspect it’s because they are humble and are tired of telling their full life story. So in most interviews they just dive right into the meat of whatever issue is the topic of the day, but I think the history is really important.
Good summary. 👍
Thanks!
Awesome. I've been following Naval on twitter for quite some time now. He's incredibly sharp and smart. So who's next in this series? Balaji Srinivasan?
Been thinking about doing Balaji, I have a few good stories about him that could work well for a video like this.
@@JohnCooganPlus Do yourself too. 1st hand insights on Soylent.
@@RJYoungling yeah, I have some personal stuff planned for this year for sure.
Stuyvesant is pronounced "Steye-vuh-sent" John!! Just a heads up :) All new yorkers are familiar with the name
Good video thanks
Glad you liked it!
Another banger John. Gotta say that I am disappointed in those VCs. You hear this SO often. It's ridiculous. Naval acts in good faith and then gets screwed over... for what exactly? A few extra percentage points...
Yeah, it’s a big reason why reputation is so important and you should always check references on the investors you work with!
@@JohnCooganPlus Yeah great point... It's sad though. We're supposed to be in the same boat and have each other's backs but I guess some people care more about a few shekels than the craft.
@@RJYoungling yes, 100% better in the long term.
naval has been obsessed with decentralization recently. This crypto boom might be a bubble and pop later but the underlying concepts are not going away. the market is signaling a need for technology platforms to decentralize and opensource, developers rewarded through the tokenomics of the dapp instead of shares of a company.
Yes, 100%. I personally can’t understand how the prices move (I don’t think anyone really can), but the mission makes perfect sense to me. Especially after the events of 2020, crypto seems poised to really gain steam in terms of real impact. I care much more about products actually improving their user’s lives than financial gain, so I’m very excited to see fully functional crypto apps gain wide adoption.
Hey man, great video! I'm subscribing, considering it a seed investment.
Awesome! Glad to have you on board! 📈
Stuyvesant is pronounced "STI-va-sent"
A friend told me this the day after I hit publish and it kills me to this day. I wish I could edit the upload.
what is the genre of this subject?
Psychology
🙏
I was on the fortune cookie train. I immediately got blocked by Naval and life is fine. Interesting character nonetheless.
Dude naval was born in mumbai or Delhi?
China
You might want to add a bit more exposure on your face. Will raise the production quality a bit more.
Yeah, that’s a good point. My key light was too low this time around. Lesson learned!
@@JohnCooganPlus I hope the algorithm will love it. Good luck with growth!
@@dobromirkostadinov2270 thanks!
That’s not how you pronounce Stuyvesant
