Doug is a youtube icon and you did a very good job making a video about him. You will get one million subs in a year or less probably. Keep digging into the realm of success
I’ve been following Doug since before his UA-cam days when he’d write articles only. Crazy seeing how far he’s come. I’d come rushing home from school excited to read his articles (no phones allowed at school) I remember they were hilarious
Thank you for getting back to sharing business principles and strategy. I felt like you moved away from that a little bit in your last couple of videos. But this was brilliant. ❤
Yep, anyone can do what Doug did. You just need an Economics degree from a prestigious university, industry contacts after working at Porsche and working for next to nothing writing for websites, be wealthy enough to buy a Ferrari and have parent a rich enough and willing to co sign for it. Have the money to support yourself for years while you build a fan base too. Yep, anyone could do what Doug did.
It's never too late to start working on your financial freedom. I bought my first house at 37 and cleared all my debts. I have never been happier and the future is looking quite better. I also have a steady income stream now of around #20 grand monthly. You should not wait for the govt. or the politicians. Start doing sth yourself
Great video, i knew basically every "fact" from the video already since I'm a big fan of Doug and I've already watched almost every podcast he's in (although i gotta say i had forgotten about his books lol!) but your analysis and explanation of the business is on point, your knowledge of the startup scene comes through in this, how he got such a great Product Market Fit and how it being a tech business helps with that Zero Marginal Cost thing probably lead to that big valuation, he really made it.
17:00 John telling us that we are not ready to be squeezed yet but will eventually, and you know what @john, I'm in! Your content are the best on the internet, educative, informative and such great story telling, sell me anything I would definitely pay attention :)
John. great content and great way to tell the story that persistence and exploring new ways are a key for success. I love all the different stories you come up and the way you tell them with great passion.
Doug, your journey from spotting your dream car on your first date to building one of the best car channels on UA-cam is incredible. Now, I'm curious: What's the most memorable car you've come across in your career, and what made it stand out to you?
I liked that Doug DeMuro is passionate about cars and his enthusiasm is contagious. He also takes a different approach from other car reviewers by focusing on the quirks and features of the cars he reviews, which makes his videos more informative and entertaining.
I'm curious to know, what's been the most unexpected or surprising aspect of transitioning from a successful UA-camr to a business owner in the automotive industry? How does his background as a content creator influence his approach to building and growing Cars and Bids? 🌟
I knew doug since his Ferrari prank videos, I always knew he is a genius business Man, you could see it in his talks and his work experiences before, it was obvious for me ❤
Amazing to see Doug's story here, amazing video! He showed that UA-cam can be an incredibly powerful launchpad to create a real company. MrBeast is the most cited example I see of how you can build something from UA-cam, but what I love about Doug's story is that he didn't build an empire from the videos themselves or from personal branding. As a creator he's the best example of what I'd like to achieve myself with my channel
I watched him in OG days however when he opened cars and bids I pretty much stopped. Not intentionally but it seemed it has became too commercial and his simpler style was a reason I watched him in a first place. But I'm glad his work paid off tho :)
He could have kept the Porsche job, written on the side and btw; missing a birthday isn't a big deal (you can call them, say 'I'll take you out to dinner when I get back.') Also, he could shoot an episode a week and have a college kid do the editing in their spare time for a share.
anyone remember saabkyle04? Started before Doug and was huge for its day but did not differentiate from the crowd. Focusing on quirks and appealing to the masses, which was something different, is what made Doug in hindsight. Same story with JakeTran and his self-realization after reading and applying the Blue Ocean Strategy. he differentiated and that made THE difference. As an aside, Doug was TikTok, before people realized the effects of TikTok. Any one of his car review videos can be easily cut and split into multiple TikTok short videos (with each on one quirk) and it would not feel out of place. So his long videos can be seen as a series of tiktoks strung together. It constantly renews the attention span and doses of dopamine. I figured that's actually the reason why his videos can appeal to the masses, and get watch times. Even as a car guy, I can't stand watching some of the other long-winded car reviews unless I have a personal vested interest in that particular car. drop a like if you agree
Hello John. I'm currently having problems with my UA-cam account. The videos and content in my account is not refreshing and all my watch history is outdated. How do I get the latest trending videos on UA-cam such as technology, entertainment, fashion, gaming, business etc. Can you confirm if my account has been hacked or if my codes have been swapped?
"All they need to do is translate the website" - I guarantee you that every single software engineer laughed at this 😂. Unless you take that into account from the get go, which many startups don't, that's not at all simple.
Request: please do a video about the start-up called Cradle. They’re working on amazing tech that’s using AI to help design proteïnes. Stef van Grieken is the cofounder and fascinating ex-Google X product manager.
How Human Nature Works Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial. Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful. Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”
noone in this video is pronouncing it correctly. it's a spanish writing (as in 'J' pronounced as 'H') for a polish word Khalupnik which meant a poor peasant in a rich urban area. short version is khalop. in the context of the car magazine it's basically not-rich people (poor peasants) goggling at fancy supercars (rich urban environment). Khalupnik is also a last name found in eastern europe states and its basically derived from the original meaning. There is a family line by that last name found in California, so perhaps somewhere, someone spanish-speaking heard Khalopnik and wrote it down as Jalopnik.

John is simply the best at digesting content and inspiring, thank and keep on making these videos.

Doug = simplicity x consistency x discpling = SUCCESS 🔥

May it lead you to not lose your soul and make the world a better place.

Mary Elizabeth Huxley literally changed my life!
tbh I don't know where I'd be without her guidance
Thanks for breaking down great content with great content, happy to be subbed!
He'll be reviewing this video soon and pointing out its quirks & features. Then he'll give it a Doug score.

I watch your videos all the time and I'm curious about how you do the research on thes people you make documentaries about.
It's so informative 👏.

John. great content and great way to tell the story that persistence and exploring new ways are a key for success. I love all the different stories you come up and the way you tell them with great passion.
Awesome story. Thank you.
Doug seems like a really nice and genuine person.
Such an awesome story I love the guy - love watching his approach to car reviewing it’s so quirky 😅
Doug has developed a persona of a college buddy who is always cool to have a beer and have a good time laughing and chatting for hours.
That opening by John ✨️🤩
Doug, your journey from spotting your dream car on your first date to building one of the best car channels on UA-cam is incredible. Now, I'm curious: What's the most memorable car you've come across in your career, and what made it stand out to you?
UA-cam career is truly a promising one, especially if you know how to engage with your viewers and what content will catch their attention.
I liked that Doug DeMuro is passionate about cars and his enthusiasm is contagious. He also takes a different approach from other car reviewers by focusing on the quirks and features of the cars he reviews, which makes his videos more informative and entertaining.
Very Inspiring and keeps me motivated about my dream car too. Kudos!
That's incredible! Can't wait for you next content about cars. Keep up the good work. 🔥

A clear and concise assessment of a great transition from creator to entrepreneur. That's precisely what my company helps creators do. 😎
The best part about Doug.... he has never begged for likes and subs 😊 he puts out a GREAT PRODUCT and people respond 🤔

CAAAAARS AND BIDS !!!!!!
He even looks a little like a young version of Leno.
I was addicted to his videos for some time. For those who like cars, his videos are REALLY interesting.
Doug definitely inspired me to start my supercar channel
well done Dough!, follower for atleast 4 year
Incredible video. Loved it!!
I watched him in OG days however when he opened cars and bids I pretty much stopped. Not intentionally but it seemed it has became too commercial and his simpler style was a reason I watched him in a first place. But I'm glad his work paid off tho :)
John you would also talk about Supercar Blondie. She also has a great story
Doug doesn’t follow a protocol he keeps it real

It would be amazing to see videos about historical entrepreneurs. Like how did Carl Bosch build the biggest automotive supplier in Germany?
Carwow guy must be making bank too..
It's crazy that some guy who dosn't know anything about cars is making millions off not understanding cars. See his take on the Mitsubishi Mirage.
That this guy still exists is a miracle
i love your videos
I really enjoy this video it was just good and positive vibes, quite motivational too in a sea of constant negativity

Some day, John might be interviewing me :)
