The voiceover was amazing. From the ability to really portray the emotion, to the sometimes sarcastic nature of Katniss, and the SINGING. It was all perfect.
If you like her voiceover abilities you should watch Orphan Black, she plays 13+ characters throughout 5 seasons and she is just MARVELous. (It’s how I met and fell in love with her acting abilities)
I just have to comment else I’ll forget, but bravo to the narrator. Sinna, Effie, Rue, Cesar, and especially Katniss were wonderfully voiced. Excited to hear what Finnick sounds like.
I've never read the book, and only seen the movies. So its interesting for me to learn about Rue's survival skills in the woods. Aside from JUMPING in between trees (which is not shown in the movies), she knows alot about plants and trees, and she recognizes wildlife thru nests! It's a different forest knowledge from Katniss'. Katniss' forest knowledge is thru hunting, the skills of it like archery ang baiting, as well as deep understanding of landscape, weather patterns, and animal behavior.
yeah we only get a glimpse of her plant knowledge in the movies when she says she changed katniss’ leaves for the few days she was knocked out because of the tracker jacker sting
Because of the ability to jumping from trees and also being small, she is en excellent spy. Katniss was asking what everyone was doing which she replied. Look at the first movie in the training camp, the made two tributes fight each other when she was chilling at the ceiling with one of their knife. I also admire Foxface (that was her name right)? She was also very skilled and even knew the way through the mines. She lasted very long and I'm actually glad the way she died because that was not a very painful death (don't want to spoil too much). I'm sad we never really got to now her, not even in the books.
I love how expressive your voice is! It really sounds like you’re telling a story instead of just reading words on a page. Great work and thank you for uploading this to UA-cam ❤❤❤

Ooof! That end! I feel so bad for the both of them! On one hand I can’t blame Katniss at all. She’s never been able to even have her own identity outside of breadwinner and protector, let alone understand how to know if you’re in love or not. So to be pushed into this fake relationship with a boy that she feels both indebted to and confused at how and why he could possibly hold onto a sense of self or deep endearment for someone who has done( in her head) nothing to earn it from him. She reasons it’s all for survival cause it’s all she’s ever known. Mixed with her questioning for the first time if she has feelings stronger than friend/family/work partner for Gale, someone she has history with and who possibly understands her the most, which is why he’d never openly admit it her. This is really unfair to her, and with a new target on her back she can’t possibly afford time to understand it when all she knows is survival, and right now she feels like the hunted instead of the hunter. On the other though, Peeta is both in the same and totally different predicament than her. He had it better than her for sure when it came to survival before the Games, but a teenager in an abusive household is the farthest thing from an okay doing person(mentally and emotionally wise at least), his crush on Katniss was probably one of the only things that gave him a sense of security in his personhood, she was maybe a source of joy and affection for him as a child. But when her father died, he must’ve seen how much toll it took on her and her family, how she was practically dying slowly and painfully while trying to grow up as fast as possible, with no support or anything. He knew pain, but he knew it couldn’t have been nearly as bad as hers.(in his perspective, suffering of any kind is painful no matter what kind), he can take a beating if it meant that at least for one night, someone who made him happy wouldn’t go hungry. After that, when she finally started to do better, even if it was through technically means, changed from a object of affection, to a person of admiration and perhaps ambivalence for him. He kept admiring from afar and felt that love for her, but also a feeling of inferiority and disappointment for himself. After all, he was more privileged than her and yet she’s the one who has proven her worth and has gained more respect from his mother than he has. Those painful confusing feelings all jumble up, yet at the end of the day feeling something is better than feeling nothing. So when the Reaping came along, and they both become tributes, he knew right then and there who die first. He accepted the fact that he was probably not going to make it long, but I think he also had the realization that he’s tired of having no agency, no courage, being nothing but a boy no one would truly miss or remember. He plans to play their game, but he’ll play it his way, he’ll hold out as long as he can, and maybe even longer. But most importantly he’ll make sure at least one person remembers him, Katniss. To everyone else, he’ll be the sweet baker boy whose an oblivious pawn to the capital and tragically in love with the girl on fire, but behind the scenes, Katniss will know he’s playing a long game, that he’s more clever than people give him credit for, and that he doesn’t plan to go out on anyone’s terms but his own. And though he can’t convince her, he said he loved her because he does, because it was the truth, because she’s worth loving, and that he plans to make sure she has the best chance at winning. So when they’re told they can both win and she comes and saves him, he finally feels more free than ever, I’m sure he knows deep down that at least some of the things she does for and says to him are lying for preservation, but everything he says is the truth. He even indulges a bit in this chance and feels even contempt just for her to be safe and with him. But they must survive and he knows how much it means to her. He’s still happy to play pretend in this cruel hellscape, he even believes that maybe she might reciprocate even a little bit of his feelings. But that false hope is robbed from him when she reveals how she was playing the capital at the end to save them both, that she has to hide her rebellion by pretending to be madly in love with him, when in reality her feelings are nowhere near that simple. He must know deep down that she does care about him in some way, and that she would’ve killed him then and there as a mercy kill like Cato if she didn’t want or believe him capable of surviving. But perhaps for a second, he wanted more than to just go out on his terms, more than just for Katniss to remember him. He wanted a chance at life WITH HER, he wanted her to love him even a fraction of the amount that he loves her. But he knows that’s selfish to ask, it’s not something she can handle right now. I genuinely think he’s not mad at her for not reciprocating his feelings, he’s just dejected at giving his hopes up for something he should’ve known all along would have strings attached. That’s how Kattniss, the capitol, everyone around him works, seldom any relationship isn’t transactional. And now he feels like how Katniss felt when he gave her the bread all those years ago. Indebted to her, indebted to a girl who has no way of handling the greatest thing he can give her. Himself. But no matter how hollow he feels, not matter what her feelings are for him. I don’t think he’ll ever stop feeling how he feels for her. He’s very much like Katniss’ mother. No matter what status they are, what world they live in, no matter how fundamentally different they are as people. He’ll give up everything for the girl who sang so beautifully, the birds stopped to hear her song.

I would prefere to see him giving her bread when they were kids as geniue act of kindness to a stranger rather than a gestue of love. Idk, it would feel more altruistc if she was just a struggling stranger toward who he felt empathy when he saw her. I'm not saying that he did it as a calculated strategy to pick her up or something but somehow being kind to a stranger feels diffrent that being kind to your loved one. And it would be perfectly natural for him to fall in love with her during their preparation, when they were the only ones that understands each other's horrible situations and were the only fammilar things in the New word they entered
His crush on her likely gave him the courage to risk a beating from his abusive mother. I mean, the boy burned valuable bread just to help her. I don't think it undervalues his inherent kindness, but rather highlights the lengths to which he's willing to go for Katniss.
@@destinypratt7761 agree! i always thought that his bread-giving was a true selfless act. to me, him having a kid crush on her does nothing to diminish that act of kindness. i dont think he fell in love with her til much later. I think he liked her and maybe pined after her at school the way kids and younf teens d9. But he couldnt have been truly in love her til they met and got to know each other (but thats just my own opinion about how love develops). its also important to remember a lot of the scenes in the first book where he discusses katniss are for the camera, and thus for the capitol, so he was telling the story they needed to stay alive!
Did all of you miss the fact that he's been mooning on her since the first time he met her in school. You all seem to forget the story that his dad told about the singing and the birds. He's been paying attention to katniss ever since that day. The bread was like his first catalyst his first attempt to get to know her.
Not far in the book yet, but I adore this already. I've been wanting to read this book for forever but now I get to just listen to it while working. The narrator has a lovely voice, especially when voicing the other characters. Sina? (Idk how to spell him) but Sina?!! He's so prettyyy,, the way the narrator voiced himm.. aaahh! I love this book already! I'll prolly comment again when I'm deeper in this- ty for making this honestly fjdjdjdjd this is gen so interesting aa 🍿
I really think its because they are more focused on wanting to get their hands on katniss to then put on a show?? like they are more focused on bloodlust i think, so they aren't thinking of the best more effect way to kill her :ta: but thats just my guess
@@annabethorellana2381 Maybe, but aten't careers especialy trained to not give into emotions and be calculated? But I understand that they are just a humans. But if it was the case, why they tried to shoot her in the first place? And why climbing to her using some tool would not satisfy their bloodlust?
Not Cato he gets triggered for any little thing. I would say the reason that they do what they do is Cato's fault. He has a hard-on to want to kill katniss because she showed him up in his mind
Fire may be a good idea, but green wood doesn’t burn very well so setting a proper bonfire would probably be too much work. And as for climbing up after her, remember that Katniss is like half their size. She can go way higher than they can.

Did all of you miss the fact that he's been mooning on her since the first time he met her in school. You all seem to forget the story that his dad told about the singing and the birds. He's been paying attention to katniss ever since that day. The bread was like his first catalyst his first attempt to get to know her.
Thank you for this i think since its a banned book its no longer available on spotify or audible

Did anyone else watch this in a day?😊
When careers was trying to kill katniss, who were sitting on a tree, Why didn't they use a knife to climp? Or why didn't they set the tree on fire?
I really think its because they are more focused on wanting to get their hands on katniss to then put on a show?? like they are more focused on bloodlust i think, so they aren't thinking of the best more effect way to kill her :ta: but thats just my guess

Maybe, but aten't careers especialy trained to not give into emotions and be calculated? But I understand that they are just a humans.
But if it was the case, why they tried to shoot her in the first place? And why climbing to her using some tool would not satisfy their bloodlust?
Not Cato he gets triggered for any little thing. I would say the reason that they do what they do is Cato's fault. He has a hard-on to want to kill katniss because she showed him up in his mind
Plot armor?
Fire may be a good idea, but green wood doesn’t burn very well so setting a proper bonfire would probably be too much work.
And as for climbing up after her, remember that Katniss is like half their size. She can go way higher than they can.
Is it the unshortened version?
Can you please upload mockingjay and ballad of songbirds and snakes
