Watched this particular vid of yours 4 times now, I adore Bienne a’Mheadhoin (pron Benavene) I do the opposite route usually, park at the dam. I’m spending a night or two testing out some new gear last week of this month actually. I’ve always wanted to do the entire way down river Affric, Loch Affric ( sneaking past the Affric estate & back onto the river that has a cute twist (apparently) but I’m always solo & the portage past the rapids would be a step too far for me now I think) or until I find a victim to drag along one day maybe. Nice one Paul. How are you finding the SilverBirch canoe? Is it the 15ft version you have? Loch Beinn a 'Mheadhoin is a fine loch, perfect for hammock camping 👍
I love it! And yes the 15ft. I remembered you saying in your video it was a bit tough finding a spot for a tent (I can see what you mean) and I prefer the hammock anyway for comfort. Thanks for watching. Take care, Paul.
Great video 👍 Inspired me to get a canoe. Soon to be proud owner of a Hou Prospector when they're back in stock. Have you named your canoe? Is that a thing people do?
Thanks Craig! I had a hou 14 before this one, it was a lovely flat water canoe. I do name mine, but haven't settled on a name yet. I usually name them after the beatles songs which feature girls names, I was considering Lucy or Rita as the colour of my boat matches the Sgt peppers album😂 or I may go for a different band all together this time, maybe Ruby (rolling stones) 🤔 it's very difficult stuff! 😂 Anyway, take care and thanks for watching, Paul
Cheers 👍 first time indy went out in a canoe he jumped out after some ducks in the middle of Coniston water; he didn't do it again 😂 They'll love it! Take care, Paul.
Hello, yes she said. Did it this weekend, well attempted it 😂 We had a head wind that hindered our pace. Then a combination of unfortunate low tide times and choppy waters meant we couldn't safely get round the coast to loch Ailort (often the case). So we headed back and egressed at castle Tiogram. Still had a great paddle though! You going for it?
I just don't have the grip strength in my feet 😁 Ok serious answer, the fire box stove works best with very small lengths of wood, too big and you can't rest a pan on top as they stick out, it is very difficult to break a 50mm diameter branch at 100mm lengths. Hope that makes sense, all the best, Paul
I wish people would stop making videos and putting music over the top...... most go to the outdoors to get away from noise, so why make a nice video and throw music over it!!
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy my video. I completely agree with being outside and enjoying solely the sounds of nature. I've often been half way up a hill and someone is carrying a speaker, blasting out some music; I don't get it myself! I guess I'm still figuring out this whole vloging thing myself and not all my videos feature so much music. The general consensus I receive is that most people prefer a bit of music to set the mood, I guess I just need to find the balance. I do appreciate your feedback, All the best, Paul.

@@00dastardly😂 no worries mate, easily done.
New viewer just came across your video really enjoyed it
Thanks Martin, glad you enjoyed it!
All the best, Paul
Anyway, take care and thanks for watching, Paul
Just subscribed.👍awesome video
All I need to do now is introduce my lab and spaniel to the canoe😳😳🛶🤞
Cheers 👍 first time indy went out in a canoe he jumped out after some ducks in the middle of Coniston water; he didn't do it again 😂
They'll love it!
Take care, Paul.
I've just been chatting this your wife on a woman's adventure forum about the Shiel/Moidart circuit. She said you'd attempted it recently?
Hello, yes she said.
Did it this weekend, well attempted it 😂
We had a head wind that hindered our pace. Then a combination of unfortunate low tide times and choppy waters meant we couldn't safely get round the coast to loch Ailort (often the case). So we headed back and egressed at castle Tiogram.
Still had a great paddle though!
You going for it?
Awesome video---new friend here
Cheers Dave 👍
happy to make your acquaintance 😁

@@WhenNaturePauls My pleasure
Would love to see a Gear list if you could.
Someone else ask the same. I will get round to it at some point.
All the best, Paul
Beautiful vlog 👍
Thank you ☺️ I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was a superb camp!
Take care, Paul
At 11.25 , why not just break off the branches with your feet ?
I just don't have the grip strength in my feet 😁
Ok serious answer, the fire box stove works best with very small lengths of wood, too big and you can't rest a pan on top as they stick out, it is very difficult to break a 50mm diameter branch at 100mm lengths.
Hope that makes sense, all the best, Paul
Chappy music spoils this video
It's had a mixed response, but you are probably right. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
All the best, Paul
I do appreciate your feedback,
All the best, Paul.
