I couldnt care less about the cars,its the machinery used to build the cars that do it for me...the minds behind the creation of those precise machines is boggling my mind...just amazing.
I have a 23 1/2 year old new Beetle TDI I bought new. Now has 341,000 miles in it. Just replaced the original clutch a couple weeks ago. Only issues have been a new ECU at 40k under warranty, AC compressor, alternator, and starter. Not bad for over two decades of reliable service.
Look at these gigantic machines in the car manufacturing. mankind has done so much progress in last 100 year. I am so much amazed to see this video. imagine how much progress mankind will do in next 100 years
What's conceptually more advanced in these machines compared to the same factory in 1970? 5% maybe. AI (hi-tech) is advancing 10% a day. RIP Europe, you've got what you deserve.
I have been driving VW for forty years, and I only ever had a problem with a golf mk 3 which was electrical. It took a while to find as it was an intermittent fault which turned out to be one little wire . Once it was sorted I had no more problems.
This is Not the Production of the latest 8.5 Model but the 8.0, you can see this based on the position of the small R and GTI logos which are located on the Front Body while the 8.5 gen. Has different batches which are located on the doors of the car. Just btw
There is a big difference in India's workforce, for example, we find some laxity and lack of sincerity in work. Sometimes we find some fraud in the raw material used to make spare parts, and this affects the quality of the product. As for the German factory, it is completely the opposite.

Apparently you are unaware of how cars are manufactured. The engines are assembled and finished in Salzgitter and then transported to Wolfsburg where they are put into the car.

There is footage of the drivetrain being put onto the shell near the end, this is all that is done in Wolfsburg, the car gets assembled there. If you want to see engine assembly, watch the footage of the Salzgitter factory.

You know, the juicy stuff... Final inspection, doors and hood adjustment... One second the chassis is bare, the other they are driving it out of the factory ...

Great work. Problems are here, but Germany can make great quality cars. Yes maybe the battery will be made in China, but that is just 1 component, you can make great cars! I can buy a cheap tesla because taxes are eliminated, but when that stops....
the battery is the single most important component in an ev. it‘s extremely expensive and has very complex technology. it‘s determines the key factors like range, power, charging time, longevity, safety. the fact that vw does not build it‘s own batteries is devastating for their strategy.

VW has lost its image, especially after this stupid decision on focusing to electric power. Now they will spend billions to reshape the company. Many years ago people were laughing on KIA, when they produced cheap but highly unreliable cars. Now situation is tragic - VW is producing very expensive and unreliable cars. I have been driving Passat for many years in row, and can say that since 2010 those cars with each new becoming less reliable and very expensive for repair. If to look from design perspective, it also disaster - just look at the latest Passat, it is ugly, and expensive. Who really need Passat for 50K, if you can buy even better SuperB for 42K? Sadly, but I think this is the last Passat generation. Model which really raised up the VW is now killed.
EV's are the future. Live with it. It's a strongly needed transformation. And yes, VW was bad because of Herbert Diess. He wanted to transfor VW to something like Tesla. But the VW models are still the most reliable on the market today (check the statistics)

VW forgot how to make reliable cars, no wonder they are in trouble. The construction quality is brilliant, what hurts the brand is stupid choices in planned obsolescence such as plastic water pumps that leak and fail young, feeble under hood plastics that fail young, DSG transmissions that have reliability and longevity issues, cabin plastics that go brittle after 4 or 5 years. Basically, there is an excellent car at the core there, I am astounded why these small changes can't be made.
The interior plastics of the MK8 are starting the make all sorts of cracking noises after only 3 years for me. Incredibly awful material, much worse than the MK7. It's clear where lots of cost cutting has been done to keep these cars somewhat affordable at an entry level.

Got a new golf. Buggy as hell, errors always on the dash for a new car it’s bad. It will be my first VW and last VW I ever have on a lease. Thanks goodness, I will probably get a BYD next time.

"This is state of the art." / VW customer support/mechanics/dealerships whenever something goes wrong and the customer is reporting an issue to them.
