- This is a part of my lesson with EasyWithAces (@EasyWithAces). We played through 2 King's Indian games and discussed thought processes and ideas. Hope it helps you all.

This is a great teaching method. I would love to see this type of coaching with a player rated around 2000.
These are super helpful!!! Thank you
Yup, definitely
These types of videos are of great help for us beginners. We know the King's Indian movies from watching your videos. But here, we have the chance to learn the thought process and different ideas when playing a game of chess.
Beginners need more videos like this one, maybe you can post some with The London System as well and all different (common) openings for both white and black.
Big thanks Levi, you're a great inspiring teacher with a talent to deliver info easily yet effectively.
(coming from a university lecturer)
What about the cool idea after the game?? Don't leave us hanging like that..
I think it’s took f3
I bet he was talking about R8f4. I think it is simply crashing. 1) ... R8f4 2) Qe3 and then Nf5! But I like the idea to play 2) ... R4f3, because it can lead to mate quickly, if white doesn't play precisely.
Gotta be rook f3
Rook to f3..then pawn G2 will take the rook
Then you check with queen h3
Then king will have only one move
Again check by queen nd then checkmate by rookon h2
Doesn’t Rf3 just trade White queen for two rooks?
Omg, I cannot thank you enough for these level games. They help so much to help me think past 1 move and analyze.
I like the way Levy teaches. He encourages Fintan Hand to find the moves.
I think the cool idea was rook f4 then queen e3 (only move which saves queen)then knight on f5 then queen c1 and I guess knight g3 check, trying to attack pawn on g2 with idea to bring f8 rook and trying to checkmate him
“So just practise your checkmate in 1 defences” fucking sassed
More vids like this with competent players!
These are super helpful
These are awesome learning videos. Best Chess teacher ever.
About time this channel had way more subscribers
Now he has 1 million!
these Gotham vids without all the hyperbole and screaming are enjoyable and instructive. I'm going to look for these and start watching Gotham more
I love how supportive of your students you are . And also, this guy is a genius for being new to chess. He is seeing some really nice moves and thinking very logically.
Yes, he is a pretty good poker player, so he needs that logic developed otherwise he looses a ton of money. I've switched to chess for about an year now, but I loved this guy's at my poker times.
If Levy taught me like that I will automatically be motivated to play chess for the rest of my life
This is a fantastic format. More of these please !
this was insanely useful
This format is great. More videos like this please!
Levy reminding me of Alvin and the Chipmunks for some reason
These are great! Thank you so much
Amazing lesson. I hope you make more videos like this; these are really helpful for amateurs like myself.
Great series...I hope many more will follow
This type of video is super useful, thanks Levy!
He had queen f6 at 5:20 threatening mate
Bruh he literally played it like a move later and won that way. And it's not even that great if his opponent sees it
Wow, what an amazing channel! Very useful stuff, thank you!
13:09 If pawn takes e4, that would be a good move right?
I think so. the queen will take that pawn and you take the f2 pawn with your rook and bring your horses to attack imo
At the end I would have probably just bullied the queen with rook to c4. Would that have been stupid? I feel like I would have gained tempo and then could bring out the queen to c5 right afterwards.
Is Kings Indian really suitable for a 900 elo? Someone told me that KID doesn't occupy the center, so you should avoid it.
BTW I really like KID.. Should I play it? Also can you suggest an alternative reply to d4. (I am a 1300 rated player)
He was not actually a 900, just a different time format.
Also, there's no "suitable for this elo" rule. You can play however you want, and gatekeeping bcs chess elo is some of the dumbest shit I've seen.
@@woop8706 He ain't gatekeeping. 'Usually' beginner players are accustomed to traditional hold the center/develop principles. That's why he said that
@Woop I've been told that occupying the center is better because players like me aren't used to playing positional chess. But since I don't have a decent reply to d4 I end up playing KID any way 😅
I would suggest to be away from opening in this elo.... You could learn opening later... learn know basic strategy and tactics and endgame before you go to opening.... You could learn opening When you get 1800+ elo...
There's nothing wrong with KID at any rating level except the very highest, and even then it can be played perfectly well. As long as you've learned and understand chess fundamentals, then play whatever you feel comfortable with. KID is a good response to d4 too.
I can read the future: this is the last video before gotham moves to his new (now old, yes i can read the future) appartment
1:29 "Meowww"
Please post more coaching videos, truly enjoyed this
What was the very cool move?
hey wheres the cool thing from after the secound game, the not forcing but cool move, pls
Your channel is perfect for any level of players..your explanations are brilliant.
good way to learn at this level watching real games and talking though it
more of this please
16:55 - Levy, which move?
I really learn a lot from these video. Thanks a lot!!!!
Very helpful
When playing the King’s Indian, how to punish someone who pushes their g pawn all the way to g5?
it depends
@@EldronGah Thank you
@@TheArcher143 no problem
You could do videos of different openings you already covered with examples of that openings in games of famous chess players
Why did the video end there? :'(
I really wanted to see the post game analysis, including your cool idea.
Oh yea anyone know what the cool idea was?
@@dinkleberg794 I think it's the f8 rook to f3.
Why does he do that at 8:58? What’s the point of trading bishop for knight?
Really liked this one
11:02 why not bringing the knight to h5? if white pushes the g pawn he will weaken his king, isnt he?
more on kings indian please
Hey it's "The Thing" from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. :D
What 'thing'?
was the "other good move" rook c2? :o @GothamChess
what is the difference between queens indian and kings indian
good advice mate
Please also put there the analysis after the game.
13:06, actually the Knight he'd take with wasn't guarding f5, its the other Knight. So why rook takes is better?
With Nxf6 you block the rook and after exf5 you only have 2 pieces attacking the white pawn which is also threatening to take on g6 fucking up the pawn structure thus not allowing you to pawn storm and weakening the king side. If you play Rxf6 you are not only defending f5 with three pieces, but you are also allowing to stack the rooks as you see can in the video.
Waitaminute levy just swore. I don't know kinda makes him cool now. Hmm. curious.
Another gem.
Is that the Pirc Defense?
Yes it is but when ever the white player play Nf3 and not pawn to f4 it will pretty much transpose to king’s Indian defense
@@hitsong2837 According to Stockfish, it doesn't
You’re a great teacher.
11:37 / 17:26
Why the video ended abruptly?
Super helpful
11:20 is mar del plata variation?
Great video, very nice lesson, but...Levy, both games are Pirc Defense games, not King's Indian Defense.
i used to watch this guy paly poker haha
I think I gained 100 rating just by watching these 15 minutes
Dudes gotta learn to relaaaaax lol and then he'll be great
15|10 too slow for me...
But it's helpful the game is slower so you can understand ideas batter
You’re helping him cheat
My favourite is the first guy who lost and asked Levy why am I playing a grandmaster
awesome
Agamator 😪
He lost his yt job xD
Agad is cringe
I’m a simple man, I see Fintan, I click
Ahahaha
isnt this a bit cheatty ? helping him in a rated game . or is it okay ??
😅
So poor oponent
is it even legit to play with someones piece of advice during the game?
that's what I thought, maybe it was an unrated game?
The rating gets refunded To the opponent I think
Yes I am first!
Playing with a teacher is considered cheating.
Your student. Is bad he not even listening what u saying to him
Or maybe the teacher is bad for underestimating his student -> making the student frustrated.
austino99
Ahhh hes listening fineeee loI also he seems really new to the game and chess alone is lot of pressure, let alone having someone looking over your shoulder while you play knowing they are judging your every move lol. I'd give him a break lol
It's interesting that he's so paranoid but then plays so fast. I think if he settles into 15+10 and uses all his time, he's going to skyrocket in rating.
I realy hate it, when my oponents play the exchange variation of the KID. It’s so boring an dry,you haven‘t any ideas(E5 KID). Have somebody an other opinion about that?
Please do a video on when to look for and finding the right pawn break.
Levy you're killing it with this content, let us see more! Link to the vod so we can see what the cool idea was
Omg I learnt so much
And the time went so smooth even after a long hectic day
I just forgot the real world workloads completely while watching this
Thanks man
Thanks for the video! Very helpful indeed! It's always been a puzzle to me on how to play the King's Indian defense.
More videos like this, please! Left a like. 👍😁
Am I missing something? Is it not possible to play a casual game instead of playing rated games and manually getting staff to give the points back after the game?
Hi Levy, great video. Could you continue this series and teach 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700 and 1900 elo?
These are amazing. Please make similar videos for the london system as well.
bro wtf was that first game I've had harder times against 250
Why does Levy encourage Nc6 before e5 contrary to the classical variation? And why does he encourage Bg4 for the knight pin and trading? Isn’t the light square bishop important for sacrificing later to crash kingside? (I’m trying to learn KID as a total noob. Tips appreciated)
I don't understand how he got so many points for winning
New player to the game
Hi Gotham chess, you streams are superb , Very informative and easy to learn and improve. I would love to see more similar streams to learn other setup openings.
hey i downloaded chess.com i tried this i won after move 13 great tips mate
You are very brilliant, this videos its gold for us beginner
I wish I have a master coaching me 0_o
This type of video is the best way to learn
why is dr strange into chess all of a sudden?
Fintan wtf
I love that they are okay with refunding points in the interest of having lessons.
That guy played 11.000 rapid games and he ' s only 1100? Maybe he should go back to checkers
Well, maybe he is happy just trying. Did that ever cross your mind?
That went quick :)
