EASY BREAD RECIPE:
1 1/3 cup warm water (100-110*F)
2 teaspoons active, dry yeast
2 teaspoons brown sugar or honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
In a large mixing bowl, combine the water, yeast, and sugar.
Stir until dissolved, then add in the egg and salt.
Add the flour one cup at a time. Once the mixture is too stiff to mix with a fork, transferred it to a well-floured countertop.
Knead for 4-5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Add more flour if the dough is continues to stick to your hands.
Shape the smooth dough into a ball and place in a bowl. Cover with a dish cloth and let rise in a warm place for one hour (or until the dough has doubled).
Grease a standard-sized loaf pan (9"x5"). After the first rise is complete, punch down the dough and shape it into a "log". Place it into the loaf pan and allow to rise 20-30 more minutes, or until it starts to peek over the edge of the pan. Bake in a 350* oven for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly browned.

So I’m a 38 year old ex construction worker that is unable to work due to injury. I have made 4 loaves of bread off this video. It just keeps getting better every loaf. These are my first 4 loaves ever. Thank you for this. The struggle of working 80+ hour weeks to sitting at home is rough. Now I have something to do that relaxes me. Thank you for this. Gave me some hope for my life. Super relaxing.
Same here!! No injury but degenerative disc disease. I LOVE making bread now!! Every setback in life usually has a silver lining as we have both discovered!!❤
Love this comment hard worker!!!!
Happy for you 💜
Even without the bread there is always hope my friend. Especially for a ass buster like you putting in the work. ✌️
Glad you’re keeping active and eating well at home. I tried making dumplings yesterday, better than the restaurant l! It’s so nice and rewarding to make knead your own dough. Keep it up! Making my first loaf of bread today!
I'm a 17 year old girl who barely cooks anything, and today I decided to make bread using this recipe. By the end of this it brought happiness to the whole house even though it’s just a bread 😭 but it meant more than that to me ! Thank you so much 🦋💗💘💘
Awwwwww, bless your heart, Fatma. Xxxxx
Good on you. That's a good thing, right.❣

My 12-year-old daughter is now officially The bread maker in the house lol Thanks to you’re easy step-by-step video!
That’s so wonderful. ♥️

Very impressive. In my mid teens, I did not know how to operate the toaster. Glad I later learned how to cook and even make homemade bread.
This is the way all these videos should be. Most people talk endlessly and ramble about topics having nothing to do with baking. I'm just learning, and I'm grateful that you posted this video.
Hahahaah I feel you!
Ya I always look at the time stamp. If it's longer then 10min it's rambling time🤦♂️
Wholeheartedly agree!!
@Ken O, that's my pet peave about most cooking/baking channels. They seem to think we want to be entertained by them.

the more you knead the dough, the less sticky it becomes. Resist adding flour to correct the stickiness.
Adding too much flour is a beginners most common mistake
Thanks..will try that later. Sadly i already add flour to prevent stickiness.

Im full time student and single mum of two teenage boys we are short on money most of the time but your recipes save me many times making own bread or pizza is fun and my boys don’t know that we struggle a bit so thank you so much 😊❤️
That's so awesome! I can tell you're a great mother, giving two awesome kids a life they could never live better. This isn't necessarily about bread but the initiative you have for your family and the care you give is greatly appreciated by many, and it's awesome to see someone doing it like you are

May I say, your boys must know your tiny struggles. I did the same. Single raising 3 kids with no support $$$. Of course things got better after an education and a good job. At 74 I don't have the same resources, and it's quite shocking for them to discover that I am now poorish. 😉 Many blessings to you and your children.

Thank you for taking the fear out of making bread. I'm not a cook. Like, AT ALL. My friends call me "The Microwave Queen"! I don't even OWN A STOVE! I just have a small toaster oven. Lol!
But, times are getting hard. Money is getting tight. I have exactly $1.23 in my checkbook and I'm out of bread. So--- here we go!! Thank you for having such a gentle presentation!
I was raised on homemade bread. Never ate the "bought" stuff. I'm 66 and this is the first loaf of bread I have ever made. Forgot the egg though and it still turned out great. Did it all from start to finish in about 2 hours. The oven proofing works great.
Me too! Oops. Lol
I made 6 large rolls using this recipe. Since I like hard crusty rolls, I sprayed water on them every 5 minutes while they were baking. They turned out better than any rolls I have ever made. Thank you so very much.
Great recipe...and easy. Thank you!
I did steam too! 15 min in a Dutch over then drop in 2 pieces of ice then bake another 15!! Perfect bread recipe.
Just a pro tip on the pizza. You had a pizza stone to bake it on, but you put it in the oven with the pizza. Pizza shops usually have ovens that get way hotter than a normal house oven (1000F+ vs 500F). To help mimic this, you want to put the stone in the oven before the pizza and let it sit there for a while. Get your oven as hot as it can go and let the stone absorb the heat. Then when you put the pizza in, it’ll sit on that stone and the crust will immediately start to brown and bubble like you get at a restaurant.
I like to heat my pizza stone up first too.
Dude... I'm sure her pizza turned out just fine.
Thanks for the tip!

my sweet mother in law gave me yeast...i feel like i won the covid lottery...i made my first bread today and it was a big hit
Good job, bake, eat, enjoy and repeat. :)
Couldn't find yeast in the markets. Everyone is making. Ordered yeast on Amazon, now I wait.
You won the lottery first by having a great mother in law.
Yeast is in the air and all over you and your house. No need to wait on Amazon or gifts.
It wasnt a hit , your family was starving .lol
I started making bread during the many covid lock downs over the past year, this is the best recipe! I switched out two tablespoons of olive oil instead of egg and it makes a nice dense loaf. I also double the recipe to make lots of bread and cinnamen twists, I find with the recipe doubled 6 cups of flour is just enough. Thank you so much for sharing❤

Lovely recipe! Bread proofing tip: if your oven has a pilot light, there’s no need to heat it at all and if your oven doesn’t have a pilot light, just turn on the actual oven light. It will warm your oven up to about 100 degrees f. which is perfect for yeast dough to rise in, without worrying about it being too hot to kill the yeast.
Perfect!! I’ll do that. Thank you!!
You’re a genius!
Thank you for the awesome tip!!!
I should have done this. I heated my oven and then turned it off, put the dough in and when I went back in an hour, the dough was stuck to my bowl and super sticky. 🫠
I lay an electric heating pad on my counter and turn it to medium high heat setting. I put the bowl with dough ball in it directly on the pad and let the warm heat do its magic
I’ve completely replaced store bought bread with this recipe - it’s much cheaper and so fun to enjoy the fruit of my labor. Thank you so much!
Yes, why spend $5 for a loaf of decent bread, when you can make your own for so much less, and have all the love and satisfaction of kneading, smelling the baking bread, eating hot out of the oven? Mmm. 😋

Just made this last night because I was out of bread for todays breakfast. This is one of the most easy to follow and delicious bread recipes I’ve tried!!! Definitely a recipe keeper. Thank you for sharing ☺️
I just love this recipe for bread. I've been making it every other day and my husband and I are so pleased. I am using a variety of flour, spelt, oat, also bran and pumpernickel. It always turns out well.
I made this dough but added an extra 2 tbsp sugar to the dry flour and worked it in. After the dough had risen, I rolled it out to a half an inch thick, and cut it into 3 inch squares. I put them on a baking sheet and let them rise again. Brushed the top with egg wash. Then I baked them in the oven at 350 until the top was a beautiful golden brown and they looked like little pillows. Up on coming out of the oven I brushed them with melted sweet cream butter and let them cool. I then dusted half of them with powdered sugar. The other half I filled with fresh Bavarian Cream. WOW! There are no words. They were light, had the perfect texture, not too sweet, and they were a hit for sure. Almost like a yummy beignet. No doubt about it. This is a wonderfully versatile dough recipe!
Question for you: Do you think that I can take this as a base and laminate with layers and layers of butter for a croissant?
