Putting the blame on her and saying her pain tolerance is low is so dumb to say. If you truly think her pain tolerance is so low then just done bite her. Problem solved, no one is forcing you to bite her and you don’t need to do that at all. Even if it was a weird kink or something, if you’re partner doesn’t like it you stop there. Everyone likes different things, if it’s truly just a kink or something that still doesn’t mean you should force it on other ppl. There is no reason to blame the other for not liking it. Like I said, If you truly think her pain tolerance is so low and she is exaggerating the just stop biting her and the problem will be solved. It’s like if she were to slap him in the face and every time it gets harder and harder, and then he tells her he doesn’t like it, but then she says, “Oh this is who I am, deal with it” and saying, “My slaps aren’t the problem it’s your pain tolerance.” Its just the dumbest thing ever to say, it’s the same with biting someone. She’s just asking to not be bitten so hard . She’s not asking for much.

13:13 Shelby actually explained somewhere (I think it was either briefly on someone’s else’s livestream or in a tweet?) that she only kept the vod up for a day because she didn’t want it to follow her for the rest of her life. I avoided this video for the past week or so being recommended to me. Truthfully, I'm just so sick of these takedowns and drama around something I used to appreciate but grew out of. I'm not one of these young Dream SMP stans. I'm a 24 year old dude who enjoyed seeing some of the content for a while when I was bored during covid, and enjoyed some of the funny youtube videos. Who followed the Dream drama casually, and realized I was misinformed. So, I was wary of it happening again, and avoided this.
Curiosity finally got to me, and. To say the least, I'm very disappointed. This is not like the other drama I've seen. This irrefutable, and tragic. I have no words, other than thank you for presenting this respectfully and irrefutably, so that I can know, without overdramatized speculation who not to look back fondly at.

I've seen the Kwite and Dream situations being brought up as reasons to be skeptical about Shubbles "allegations" when they are very different situations. Remember, Shelby never initially made any direct accusations against Wilbur, his name never came out of her mouth. Wilbur himself was the one to confirm it. If she did just "want attention," why not just use his name? Why delete the Vod? I might be biased because I've followed Shelby waaayyy longer than Wilbur, but I don't believe she'd lie about this, and I think how she presents the information backs it up.

Knowing how this stings me present day reminds me how torn apart 2021 me would be right now, she wouldve had her heart torn out. Dsmp got me through the pandemic but Wilbur was always my favorite, in fact i was such a huge fan I literally learned all his songs on my guitar and honestly he was what motivated me to start playing, I looked at him as a rolemodel. This situation reminded me how much of an inspiration he was to me and how much he has impacted the skills i have today, and now it all feels like it's gone down the drain and meant for nothing. I'll admit, I'm really shocked and even upset, even though i do not care about minecraft and that stuff anymore, especially since he was the least person i thought could ever do this to someone and the last person to ever do something bad to anyone. -She didn't say his name first, Wilbur was the one who outed himself, if it's for clout why not say his name?

Literally. She still seems really lost about it, when she was telling her story you can almost see her disassociate remembering the memories of it happening. Like… he BIT me, why did he do that?

a good rule of thumb for when you see the world 'allegations': they're probably trying to defend themselves from legal trouble
as long as you say "allegations," the accused party has 0 legal basis to sue you for any sort of defamation. That's why most news sources will always use "allegations" even in very obvious situations. This isn't the uploader trying to downplay the issue, but likely trying to cover all bases in terms of how the accused might retaliate to the information that was released.

That’s something that has always irked me about that whole thing. Grown adults interacting and having private conversations with people who have barely started Highschool. In certain clips, the aforementioned minors have said how excited they were to be friends with their idols, which sounds dangerously close to the Colleen Ballenger situation.

@TheSparkOfCorn Also, the reason age is important in this conversation is because it is suspicious that a 23 year old man would befriend a 15 year old. Maybe once isn’t all that odd, but multiple of Wilbur's MCYT friends were minors when they met him (and he was an adult).
Even if it weren’t suspicious, there is still a power imbalance at play since the dynamic was established when Tommy was a bit younger and easier to manipulate (if that's the right wording).

1: She just wants to vent about, considering she never mentioned Wilbur by name she definitely didn't want to start drama
-1.1: Going to the police can often worsen abusive tendencies from people since they don't want to get caught and if the police investigate someone and find them innocent they are less likely to investigate a second time
2: It can be very hard for women to get the police and/or justice system to take them seriously when they're being abused. Abusers are very good at manipulation it's how they reel in new victims and it's the reason they're able to get away with it for so long
-2.1: Wilbur soot is also in one the most popular bands around at the moment so it be very easy for him to find a good lawyer to get off Scot Free.
-2.2: Even if an abuser is sentenced it could be a complete nothing burger of a sentence compared to what they deserve
-2.3: Shelby also said Wilbur wrote a beautiful love letter to her so manipulation would not be out of character
3: To warn other people about his behaviour so they also fall victim to him. Since this is out if he tries to find new people to go after they could find this out about him and cut ties early. A criminal record could be much harder to find for the average person.
4: Abusers also love control so finding a way to it away from them is a good thing. In this case taking away his platform is a huge step to stop him from reaching new people for him to take control over.

Took me 7 days to watch this video, right before all those allegations started and was admitted by Wilbur, like 2 days before those video started popping out on my for you page, I watched some of his wine livestream with Quackity because It had been a long time since I watched both Wilbur or Quackity videos. While watching the I think was the recent one, I had that bad feeling about Wilbur, not to the point of thinking “oh he’s an abuser” but thinking he’s definitely “not mentally stable and well”, he just looked sick to me and I was worried for him but man If I knew. I was more of a fan of his music than Wilbur himself but I always felt some sort of comfort from Wilbur videos.

I see it so much now. All of our favorite people doing horrible things and then getting exposed and then that’s the end of them. It’s really just sad.why would they have to do that? It’s so stupid like why? Like your favorite celebrity that you idolize like they are your life. They could seem so innocent and not like they could do anything one day, and then do something absolutely disgusting the next and you’re questioning why and how could they do something like that. Celebrities are not your friends at all you don’t know them!! Stop idolizing them and that’s what this taught me. Because guess what? We’re all gonna keep seeing stuff like this. Exactly like this. I once had a friend who was mentally unstable and very toxic (kept threatening to off themself if I didn’t date them, and we were in third or fourth grade at the time), but yet after several years have gone by, we are now best friends and really close once more. They’ve gotten help and gotten better, even if they do struggle sometimes
I’m all for believing in people changing, but they have to prove that they have changed
But there is no way he can prove he’s changed. His persona he had online acted like he was a great person, so I’m not sure how any on-screen change for him would work
Especially with that shitty of an apology
I used to watch his streams and vidoes for hours as background noise
A close friend loved his content so much she would sleep with his podcast on
But yet now neither of us can even see him without getting upset.

This is the first time i've ever heard about someone elses experience with this and can fully relate to the confusion & self- gaslighting. In my very first relationship ( i was 13 , she was 16 - may seem strange, but wasn't uncommon for people around me at the time) my girlfriend at the time (lesbo relationship) used to bite me every time i came over, to the point that i was covered in bruises and would sometimes bleed. She used to call them markings and told me it's a sign of her love and sign of me belonging to her. I did find it quite weird and brutal at the time, because i didn't understand the sentiment and it was really painful and embarrassing walking around with bite marks and bruises on my face and all over my body (even my nose and cheeks), but i was extremely anxious and naive at the time and carried all this shame with me anyways for being into girls and yadda yadda, also she had a very dominant, controlling and slightly manipulative personality, which i just didn't have the skill to go up against, so i kind of just let it happen cause i didn't know how to deal with it. My Mom eventually really freaked out and asked me what the fuck was going on until i eventually spillt the beans while balling my eyes out in shame. She was livid and was threatening to sue the girl if she didn't stop. I don't remember how it resolved itself (my mom didn't sue), but i remember we were still together for about 8 months after that until she cheated on me 4 times with a friend (once at a party that i was attending myself) ...😂 Looking back, not the greatest experience for my young fragile self. But then again there's further reason as to how i was able to end up in such a relationship at that age in the first place and i'm sure the girl was carrying her own luggage aswell.
    Anyways, crazy story thinking back..

as a young woman, i cannot tell you how many friends of mine (and not even all other women) echo shelby’s sentiment in an abusive relationship of constantly second guessing and asking yourself “ok but is this bad enough to be *abuse?”* if you suspect you could possibly be being abused, that’s your first red flag. all my love and support to shelby, even as a past fan of wilbur’s. like, i was a frequent viewer of his back in the soothouse era and i never ever would’ve said anything but positive things about him before this. there’s simply no defending him especially after such a crazy deflective apology.

@@blchfnby"you women" I'm pretty sure 99.99% of the women in these comments would definitely NOT tell a male victim to "man up" because we know what it's like to feel like your trauma doesn't matter. You're making baseless accusations about these women and their stance on male domestic abuse. I dunno who made you feel like all women treat men this way, but I for one support male abuse victims. Any women that are shallow enough to tell someone to "man up" have definitely never had to go through the horrors those men have. And I'll tell ya right now, those women you're talking about are not in these comments. You're arguing with a brick wall right now.
Also are you really out here complaining about women telling men to man up and not talk about their trauma, then complaining about abuse victims talking about their trauma?
Was that supposed to be satirical?
People that are brave enough to share their experiences are crucial in changing the way we view domestic violence. To show the world that this is really happening, people are living through nightmarish situations one would never even think about, it's having debilitating long-lasting affects on our lives, and something needs to be done about it. Hearing stories similar to your own is like opening your eyes for the first time and realising you are not alone. Knowing of people that have been in the same scenarios as you, have had those same self-blaming thoughts, denying that what's happening to them is even considered abuse, it helps. Shelby's story has made me feel less alone in what I've been through, allowed me to recognise the pattern of abuse I experienced, and has made me more confident in sharing my story so women like me in my local area can feel less alone. Sorry if this makes you throw a tantrum because god dammit I'm talking about my trauma and NOTHING boils the blood more than a victim speaking up about their trauma. But hello, we exist, sorry if that makes you uncomfortable, but don't be pissed off at us for talking about it, be pissed of at the psychopaths who made this happen in the first place.
Also, pro tip: If you don't wanna hear about abuse stories then I'd recommend not scrolling through the comments of a video about a domestic abuse situation and reading through the replies of said abuse story comments.

      @Kaebuki 2 місяці тому +4

@@blchfnbyMoving on doesn’t necessarily make the trauma go away. It can still affect you as a person, just in ways you won’t consciously realize, like getting scared by certain noises or having issues trusting your partner to keep you safe. Therapy, love and support are what can heal those wounds, but even that takes time and might still not fully heal people.
While I understand what you mean about keeping private affairs away from the public eye, I think abuse is an entirely different issue that needs public awareness. Abuse works off manipulating the victim, taking control away from them and putting the abuser in a position of power. It can get to the point where the victim doesn’t even realize they’re being abused, as was shown in this situation, or is too scared to get help. Speaking out with evidence backing up your allegations is a powerful way to help people who don’t realize they’re being abused have a revelation about their life, and encourages them to speak up and get help. It also acts as a way to stop the abuser from harming more people, as people get the warning to be careful interacting with them, watch for the telltale signs of manipulation.
Wilbur is a famous UA-camr. That fame gives him the power to influence people who are fans of him, influence the people who collab with him because they make good content together. That position of influence is exactly what an abuser wants, because it gives them the ability to attract and then manipulate those who may not be experienced enough to see the red flags, for their vision is clouded by their idolization of the abuser. Even if one victim is able to escape, there’s a chance with that large audience that the abuser can find another: it happened in this situation already, with multiple women stepping forward with their abuse experiences once they realize they weren’t alone in their suffering. Making this public helped a lot of people realize they need to be careful around Wilbur, and probably stopped many future possible victims.
Maybe male victims of abuse should speak out more too. Male victims of abuse are often used as a joke, but it really shouldn’t be, as these victims undergo the same traumas as women victims do. Abuse victims should speak out in solidarity together, to warn people of the signs of abuse and who these abusers are, regardless of their gender.
Of course, I emphasize the need to have evidence before we pass judgement: we don’t want to ruin someone’s life over a false allegation, because that would hurt the credibility of all abuse victims and the innocent person caught up in the issue. Though few in number, there are unfortunately some people who would use the alleging of abuse for their own gain, rather than to help others not suffer the same fate.
However, that does not mean treating all abuse victims as liars until proven innocent. Sometimes evidence is hard to get, or can’t be distributed because of legal reasons. The important thing is just to be empathetic and respectful, put your trust in people but not blindly, and be willing to hear the other side out.

A safeword should only be necessary when people are roleplaying or doing CNC, so that they can say "No!" or "Stop!" and not really mean it, and the safeword is the word that really means "No" and "Stop." If a person is feeling that they have to use a safeword in situations that aren't like that, because their partner is ignoring them when they say "No" or "Stop," things are already seriously wrong and a safeword isn't going to do anything to fix it. Edit: *_Calm down, y'all._*
    1. It seems there was a great misinterpretation of my message when I used the word "trust". At no point did I ever imply that I had some sort of parasocial relationship with anyone. If anything, I absolutely hate parasocial relationships and am disgusted by such.
    2. Whatever it is you're going to respond with, I am already aware of such. This isn't something new to me. Every celebrity, idol or whatever fancy name you can think of could always be a completely different person behind the curtains, or screen in this case. I've seen and witnessed it all.
    3. I understand that there are still good people on this world, but over the past two decades, I've seen many supposedly-good people turn out to be horrible in the end, and I'm just getting tired of it at this point. So I can't trust anyone on their words anymore, and neither should you. (I can't think of a better term than "trust", just bear with me here)
    4. I haven't religiously watched Wilbur Soot like most other people here, so of course I didn't see all of these red flags. So this was more of a surprise to me. Still though, easy on the keyboard please, this isn't Reddit.

I have no hate to Wilbur, just dissapointment at the fact he thought what he was doing was ok, especially when Shelby clearly told him it hurt and showed she didn't like being bitten. Having a safe word for something like that is ridiculous, if someone shows discomfort with your actions then you stop doing those actions. Biting during sex only? Or just for no reason? I have a kink for biting an my ex and I would bite during sex or roll playing. But we both knew what we wanted. Saying he gave her a safe word doesn’t really cover it. As you should establish what you both want prior. Giving her a safe word didn’t ask her if she wanted to participate in biting in the first place?? That’s just going ahead with what you want and pretending you give a shit by giving a safe word. A safe word don’t mean shit if you don’t want to do it in the first place or you get made fun of for using said safe word!!
