Panthers not hiring Steve Wilks is going to haunt them for a while. He had this same team playing competitive and barely missing the playoffs. Now they just look like a trainwreck and extremely dysfunctional.
Tepper is already exposing himself as Mark Davis east. Trying to hide his utter incompetency as a team owner by chasing names and firing people. The only thing he'll be successful at is setting the franchise back 15 years at this rate.
Well said, sir! Tepper has been playing a billionaire armchair quarterback with the staff since he bought the team. Wilks has the team moving in a positive direction and Tepper decided that Reich was a better option. The bad decisions were all self inflicted wounds from Tepper himself. He should stay in the skybox and stop pretending that he knows anything about football.
Not hiring Wilks looks bad for sure, and putting Chris Tabor interim vs, oh, anybody else on that coaching staff...that looks bad too. That locker room knows it too. They're not dumb. They see what is going on.
Because Wilks isn't a good HC. He was horrible at Arizona and even in Carolina he was aggressively mediocre. It's like hiring Ron Rivera. You're basically signing up for being eternally mid. Reich being awful doesn't make Wilks a good hire in retrospect.
@@DCIphanatic And it was very clear the game passed him by. Also there is a strong argument to be made that he wasted Cam's prime and prematurely ended his career.

Then found out as the HC he wouldn't be able to hand pick his own staff nor the QB! This is why Wilks didn't get the job after 2 interviews. With that said...I'm glad Wilks didn't get the job. 1) don't think he'd work out. Wouldn't be any better than Reich was supposed to be 3) too great of a man to put up with Tepper and his wife
This is all on Tepper. He is like a corporate America CEO. Thinking he can pressure everyone with negative reenforcement, scream at them, threaten or just fire them. As if that will motivate them to be good, loyal, hard working employees.
Scott fitterer needs a straight flight ✈️ out of Carolina. He the main reason why our roster sucks he sold us that this team was QB ready and that we had a Allstar coaching staff. As we can see we are 1-10 😕😳😑
Just firing everyone does not fix anything it just introduces more and more variables and torches all the valuable learning up to that point. Can someone fire Tepper the Temper Tantrum please?
David Tepper is now the worst owner in the NFL. Stop firing coaches so much and stop making horrible trades. The DJ Moore trade so they could get Bryce Young was predictable bad.
I don’t see how you can blame young in any real way. He somehow has a positive td to int ratio and has a terrible supporting cast and a was given a known failure as a head coach. He also has had a better statistical rookie season than Allen and Lawrence so there’s that too.
This team should have stayed put in the draft, took an ol again, then naturally get in position to draft a qb this year. Now you may have the wrong qb and a bad cast around him while you traded away a wr1 and mccaffrey.
@@AugieJunior possibly! The Texans we’re picking in the top 5 for a few years and have been worse for years. I don’t think the situation is much different other than the Texans used their resources better and drafted better.
Yes agree. Tepper has not held on to a laundry list of star players. In order to have a team be successful the moving parts of a team needs to have high quality players at every position.
I want Tepper OUT…. He is no Jerry Richardson…. Not been a Tepper fan since day one when he stated he will show Carolina what a winning organization is…. How well has that worked Tepper? You’re a joke and a terrible owner that needs to leave Carolina.
3-4 years is a LONG time *IF* it doesnt produce favorable results.. imagine 2x not having favorable results.. thats 8 years of a franchise gone and wasted, nearly a decade. Atleast 2 years and if theres not a big change after that its usually a better option to cut them loose and try to hire the best available coaching candidate that year.
Frank Reich was hired to be better than Steve Wilks who took pretty much the same roster to 7 wins. Instead, he had 1 win and his offense has been one of the worst in the league and was showing no signs of improvement. What is the argument for keeping Frank Reich?
This isn't the new NFL period. It's the bad team period. There's a reason the teams that are good to great year over year aren't firing coaches every other year. Of course it helps when you don't have an out of touch owner meddling and firing people every season after forcing them to take the first round QB they didn't want. Just think about how many teams that last sentence describes over the last 10 years and you'll see the real difference between the good and bad teams in the league.
