That was awesome drone video it looks like they are making some progress hopefully everything will be cleaned up before next hurricane season God bless all those effected by this and a speedy recovery ahead.
Never thought a storm could be so powerful till we got hit here in coastal Georgia. Knowing how bad we got hit, we can only imagine how bad it was for Florida.
I booked a trip to the Keys for July. I live 5 hours away where Irma took my roof but all now has been restored and I'm truly excited about giving back to the Keys by visiting for the first time. I could of picked a different vacation spot but I chose the Keys this year because I want to give back to such a beautiful place I hope others do too! This is one way we can help.
Hi John, thanks for sharing such spectacular imagery of the devastation. You have really brought home the scope and intensity of the damage and some of the shots of the barren landscape are truly emotional. Might I ask what type of camera and lens was used to shoot his? Truly amazing.
John I'd like to say that you took some great photos of the destruction in the Florida Keys. (Wish there could have been a way to label each of the Islands that you covered).... They have a really longtime to go before they are considered what they would call normal! My heart goes out to each and everyone of you that are suffering. (And I'm not talking about Rich ones that can afford to just build immediately but to the hard working families)
Thank you, The Keys are slowly recovering stores and restaurants are opening back up. and I will say people in the Keys are in good spirits and happy to see visitors returning
when you see these photos the one thing to remember is dont build wood frame houses and no trailer homes in the keys elevated concrete block richard in fort Lauderdale
richard none wow somebody else was Common Sense cool I was just going to say don't build your house on Sand with toothpicks and plastic siding in Hurricane Alley you know it happens every year right
nobody forgot about them, but Puerto Rico is destroyed. it will take them years to get back to what they were. Texas was months ago, so they'll fix that. Florida got hit pretty bad, it will take them longer than Houston but they will get it fixed. Puerto Rico is the worst because all those people have no where to go, whereas most of Florida and Texas will be fine. ya it's pretty sad, but those people can either start over somewhere else or they can return when most of the damage has been fixed. so nobody forgot about it. don't be like Donald Trump thinking you can throw toilet paper at the situation.
Great video. We lost our Fifth Wheel on Cudjoe Key and our boat was damaged, but we fared better than many and look forward to replacing the Rv and enjoying the Keys again.
Hurricane Irma. My mother lost her house was destroyed. My dad passed away a couple weeks after that he was sad. And my mother pushing her 70s she is living in a motorhome on the property. She didn't have no insurance, she signed up for rebuild Florida hopefully her little house will come soon. And this was East Rockland key, if I had the money I will build her house already
What hotel is that @ 2:27 - 2:34? It looks like this one resort we rented jet skis from on Islamadora. Such a great vibe at the keys. Hopefully they have recovered.
I was saying that to myself when I was there filming that would take some time to haul all the debris out not a lot of open land down there to store stuff has to be trucked out. There was a lot !!! The landfills I did see were already pretty much at max capacity .
Thanks for posting. Very sad. I was wondering how The Chesapeake did and you have some great footage from 2:16-2:30. We love it there and go there every October and May and had to cancel this year. Can't wait to be back.
Not a chance pal shit everywhere and still piling up everyday gonna take 2 -3 yrs at least and the canals are full of crap too i live the 22 mm I drive us1 everyday
I only made it down as far as Big Pine Key so I can't say how Key West faired. I will be going down to Key West next weekend and I hear it's back up and running now so more footage on the way soon !
And this wasn't even NEAR a very powerful storm. If one ever does hit in my lifetime; it'll be 10 years to get back to normal and rebuild it all. Awful to think of, but we have them so often around the world no one even cares one tiny bit anymore except for the 30 seconds they're forced to look at it on the news.
I suppose everyone is waiting for insurance claims.. it’s going to take a while to clean all that stuff up. It’s very sad the mess that hurricane made..
I lived on Big Pine once, real close to the "No Name Pub", on a canal offa' Sunset, on Watson Blvd....I would have been 10 feet underwater..........The Key Deer ? Just sayin'
Randall Johnson I went to Key West, saw the Hemingway Home 🐈, visited some of the other 🔑, but I wouldn’t want to live there full time. I hope they recover.
I live in Key West. We are 100% recovered down here, except for a few isolated unlucky properties that a tree fell on. The trees here took the brunt of the storm and have already bloomed new leaves. It’s hard to even tell we had a storm in Key West. While your video looks well done, it would be more responsible of you to make it clear that your video was NOT from all the keys, just the middle Keys. But here in Key West, we’re still experiencing a financial storm as bad news coverage sent the wrong message that KW looked like your video. So please come visit Key West and stay a while. We need your business now more than ever, and our paradise is still beautiful. See keywestchristmas.org.
Glad you put people in the know. Seeing all the videos of destruction from South America to Florida gives wrong idea. I imagine a little tourism would be a good thing.

A very sad scene in such a beautiful place. Well put together John.
So sorry for the loss!! Things wont be the same any more!! Perhaps every day just a little better. Bless them all!
I can not believe it. A devastated paradise. God bless everyone !!!
That was awesome drone video it looks like they are making some progress hopefully everything will be cleaned up before next hurricane season God bless all those effected by this and a speedy recovery ahead.
There is still MANY BEAUTIFUL areas in the KEYS. We need everyone to VISIT! Keep the tourist dollars coming to REVIVE and RENEW our piece of Paradise!

Jenn Radic I couldn’t agree with you more😊 I’ll be back in the Keys soon myself . Have a great vacation Jenn !
John Haigis Thank you!

Just As Soon As Puerto Rico Started Acting Up, We Forgot About Texas and Florida!
I haven't forgot
They sure did

Karen Lueck do you have insurance, because those who don’t lost everything
Mick Funny Yes. We had insurance.
Thank you , Things can be replaced ,thankfully you were insured. Love the Keys !
Hurricane Irma. My mother lost her house was destroyed. My dad passed away a couple weeks after that he was sad. And my mother pushing her 70s she is living in a motorhome on the property. I'm glad the Florida Keys are slowly putting back together after the hurricane Irma hit it, also people are working hard to get tourism back on too.
Curious to see a video about the keys a year after? Is it still a mess? How did they remove ALL those boats with out destroying them?
Thanks great view, including debris truck loading up, takes time to clean up but keys still beautiful.
Your welcome , Going to get back down the Keys hopefully this coming weekend .It's still the Keys !
What hotel is that @ 2:27 - 2:34? It looks like this one resort we rented jet skis from on Islamadora. Such a great vibe at the keys. Hopefully they have recovered.
vista7 you would be correct, that place is still rebuilding
Nice to see the trees recovering
Wow, quite an eye-opener to see this.
what type of drone are you using with the Sony cam?
Jim Edds that was an SkyHero X8
many thanks, it shoots beautiful images and flies very well. I sent you a DM.
good video..what's the music?
My company has had me here in the Keys since the 3 of Nov. Been hauling mulch out of the Keys by the trailer load. Unbelievable.
I was saying that to myself when I was there filming that would take some time to haul all the debris out not a lot of open land down there to store stuff has to be trucked out. There was a lot !!! The landfills I did see were already pretty much at max capacity .
When will we ever learn! Only brick buildings category 5 home trailers cemented and all buildings on tall metal beams flood proof.
My heart goes out to all the people who had their very existence turned upside down ( no pun intended) by Irma.
Great video footage
Thanks !
I'm sad because I live in Florida keys
Hîldëñŷ ÅRTS Sorry , The Keys will back and better ! Love spending time in the Keys also.
hope everything works out for you
Hîldëñŷ ÅRTS i hope all is well sorry for what has happened in Florida greetings from Iowa

Thanks for posting. Very sad. I was wondering how The Chesapeake did and you have some great footage from 2:16-2:30. We love it there and go there every October and May and had to cancel this year. Can't wait to be back.
Great place I've stayed there also !
We need to build up some natural Barriers out there if its possible. Would be a huge task that's for sure.
"Irma Hit the Keys" sounds like a Funky Song title....on the bright side Fantasy Fest in Key West needed a good cleaning anyway.
Fuck that! The keys are almost completely cleaned up, better than ever, and open for business.
Joe Saba that's great news ! This was about a certain time not present day ...
Not a chance pal shit everywhere and still piling up everyday gonna take 2 -3 yrs at least and the canals are full of crap too i live the 22 mm I drive us1 everyday
Much better in Islamorada at 75
Joe Saba I’m was back in the Keys today there is still a lot of debris everywhere this is going to take a lot of time to cleanup.
#GodBlessKeyWest
Think that's bad check out mine of 2 months after harvey. My place is amongst the huge pile
I just knew the mayor of Key West was lying the day after the hurricane hit when he said there wasn't much damage at all.
I only made it down as far as Big Pine Key so I can't say how Key West faired. I will be going down to Key West next weekend and I hear it's back up and running now so more footage on the way soon !
Well done.
