I used to do all sorts of mad things to get a warm car.....In Germany I parked my car Passatt Diesel outside the back door of the barracks and ran a cable out and left a fan heater on hot for half an hour...even worked in -35C and colder. On exercise (manouevres) I used to put a storm lantern in the footwell, two if i had them....I remember sticking a kerosene stove in the back (LWB Hardtop) one particularly cold morning when I had to go out. The Russian Landrover equivalent came with a petrol blowlamp which you sat in a certain place under the bonnet and left it firing on the intake manifold until it was cherry red.....but that just helped the engine start....still freezing inside. Now all my tractors have electric (mains power) heaters in case I need them to clear snow.....plug in and leave a couple of hours.....it also warms the heater so nice cozy cab.
Think you need a well deserved break Mike. It's quite a physical job you've got but it will keep you fit if nothing else. Just moving that spare transfer box off my workbench to the floor of the garage was knackering enough for me. All the best - just enjoying a Newky Broon atm.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year Mike and thanks for another year of great content and tips... where would the Land Rover community be without you?
Every time I watch your winter videos Mike, I feel I want to lay down and kiss the ground here in North Queensland Australia. I love this constantly warm weather, particularly Christmas. Speaking of which, you have a great Christmas up there in "Santaland".
Why pressure wash the snow off? If i'm away from the house when i have to remove snow i use the ice scraper. If i'm at home i use a soft broom. Not much call for any of those here in Worcestershire at the moment as it's a sultry 11 degrees centigrade! Merry Christmas 🥳

I can still get 200/300Tdi block heaters, but they are all 110v

It's not just snow but the 1/2 inch or ice underneath - don't want to damage the paint
