I’m sorry, but I am a teacher. If one of my students did not have lunch, they would automatically get a hot lunch for the day. I don’t even call the parents. Because they deserve food, and a hungry student has a lot of negative effects on their attitude and well being for the day. I always make sure my students have food.

What sucks is like. I had to get a lunch one day bc some kid knocked over mine (I was in elementary school at the time), but my parents had to pay for it. Obviously my parents didn’t get mad, but I feel if this little girl bought a hot lunch her mother would beat her or something.
my son is 6, i pack his breakfast & lunch everyday. he is just barely reliable enough to do it on his own. if i made him do it himself, which will prob end up happening eventually, it is STILL my responsibility to oversee that it was adequately packed & make sure that he remembers to grab it before he heads off. when he's older, i should no longer have to be so diligent, but on the occasions that he fails to remember, i will gladly step in & make sure he gets fed one way or another. for *life*

I’m seriously concerned about the son’s back. Sleeping on a BEANBAG, something with no support, for 7 MONTHS would cause so much damage. A human spine is an absolute hell-show when given all the support it could possibly need, let alone this. Also, I think it’s important to remember that abuse victims are gaslighted. It is very hard to come to terms with the fact that this isn’t normal and that they don’t deserve it. The fact they don’t have access to online resources that would help them makes it even harder - and likely a deliberate action on the mother’s part to prevent losing control.

I've heard of parents taking of bedroom doors (my mother took my sister's off when she was a teenager), but NEVER bathroom doors. That's horrible. That is a private space where you should be able to close and lock the door. Especially having 7 siblings.

They’ve been exposed for allowing parents send their lgbtq kids there as if being gay needs to be fixed. Apparently they treat the lgbt kids horribly and basically allow conversion therapy. They’re for sure not real psychologists, or if they are they need their licenses taken away.

I’m a teacher and I HOPE their teachers have reported them to CPS. We are mandated reporters and if we have ANY suspicion that any kind of neglect or abuse is going on, we are LEGALLY required to notify. Also requiring a six year old to make their own lunch on a daily basis isn’t developmentally appropriate and making them go hungry is NEVER an appropriate response either.

I dated a guy who did "wilderness therapy" in his teens for like a year. He was really messed up from it.

I don’t doubt that some wilderness therapy programs are bad, especially if the parents use it when it doesn’t need to be (like I suspect this lady did), but some of those programs are actually very helpful. My sister went to one when she was 17 and was better for it since they’re run by psychologists... the focus was on therapy and not on any kind of abusive type of situation

As a mom of 2 teens and two young children, I am absolutely appalled by this women's behavior. If your child plays a prank on their sibling you say "Hey, that wasn't nice. Please don't do that again." You don't take their bed. It also makes me angry that she putting her wanting to make videos ahead of her child's need for privacy. You do not broadcast your children's wrongdoings anymore than you would want them sharing yours. Her children are going to leave and never look back. @Lauren Rogers One of the things that got me was her making her 6 year old responsible for her own meals. I am all for teaching responsibility, and my older children do their own laundry, but a 6 year old. I have a 6 year old and they are still in the "just being a kid" stage. Then to let her child be hungry? It is infuriating!

I know what it looks like to have parents that don't give a shit, I have 0 friends and have NEVER been able to keep any friends for longer than a month. Yet my parents aren't concerned nor do they seem to care. And her responding to them with "i'm sorry you're in that situation" tells a lot. My mum says that same line and guess what? My dad is very adamant about self independence and started ya know slowly lowering us into more independent things as we got older like walking to school or making my own lunches, but that was when I started middle school. A 6 year old child doesn't need to be independent because every other aspect of their life is somehow monitored by their parents. I get that you want your kids to have these sort of skills and not learn to rely on you but me and my dad agreed that a SIX YEAR OLD CHILD should not have to do that.

I started packing my own lunch for school when I was 7-8 years old and I absolutely forgot some days (people offered/gave me food).
