I became a wrestling fan at age 8 in 1968, and when I was ten I started buying the wrestling magazines. At least one of the magazines I would buy every single month would have a picture of Bobby Heenan on the cover, and almost invariably his face would be covered with blood. What a thrill it was to finally be able to watch him manage beginning in 1984 in the WWF after years of reading about all the stuff he did. I've met a few wrestlers over the years, but the two I most wanted to meet are Mick Foley and Bobby Heenan. Bobby, you are truly missed.
When I was 5, my grandma loved pro wrestling. I was introduced to Dick The Bruiser’s WWA. Bobby had left by the time I started watching, but they would show some classic clips and when I saw Bobby Heenan, I was hooked. The bumps he took then were the greatest. The same week, I saw Bruiser Brody for the first time in the WWA. What a week.
Bobby could draw heat from a block of ice.... What a true wrestling fan he was you have to be to do what he did and many others like Hogan and hart all had to be fans first.. but bobby was upper class
