0:05 - I’m glad I grew up in a time when Pizza Hut was not only decent, but they were not afraid to kill us with their delicious decadence. I doubt my 47 year old heart could handle a Bigfoot Pizza, but my 15 year old one could.
14:42 Man, I'd forgotten how 90's cable commercials can make 70's and 80's music collections feel like the greatest thing since the invention of radio. I want to buy this "Three Dog Night" collection! (I always wonder about the PO Boxes featured at the end of the commercial, if they're still used by the same company).
Loved Comedy Central during this era. And yeah, that's mostly because I was watching lots of MST3K all the time. It was right after high school, living in an apartment with my roommate, getting cable for the first time (my parents had cable in the late 80's but not in the early 90's). We started off watching lots of Comedy Central and MTV, then found the Sci-Fi Channel, and eventually Discovery Channel and Cartoon Network. Good times!
Those commercials were from a recording that was shared online, and the ads had already been posted by someone to youtube. I took them down per request. Vol. 508 will come back in some other form in the next few weeks.
I Accuse My Parents is considered a classic by many MSTies but I wouldn't put it in my top 20 or anything. It made a few modern day versions of the streaming Turkey Day Marathon. But sadly the abbreviated season 7 was underway on CC with the new episode Deathstalker and The Warriors from Hell. Thank goodness the show continued elsewhere! I wasn't expecting an MTV-esque promo for Comedy Central but here we are! They were both under the MTV Networks banner at this time but still.
"I Accuse My Parents" is probably in my top 10 just because of this host segment: ua-cam.com/video/a1NxpEK0a9k/v-deo.html It's also a pretty ridiculous movie LOL. I love it when his mother shows up to his school drunk.
I used to stay up late and hope my parents went to bed early enough for me to sneak out into the living room and watch Dream On with the volume on 1 or 2
I’m fine with the Mike Comedy Central episodes for the most part. But it takes a lot of will power to make it through one of the SciFi Channel era episodes.
@@yusakug There are definitely good movie selections, good riffs etc. My primary problems are: 1. Besides Joel, the departure of Frank Coniff and Trace Beaulieu (Both as Dr. Forrester and Crow) effectively killed the show. I find Bill Corbett neither funny or an acceptable Crow replacement. 2. Tied to the above: Host segments go from something truly enjoyable into something akin to a terrible Sega CD FMV game. With unskippable FMV's 3. In general I find the Joel era to be light-hearted and whimsical and the Mike era to be cynical and mean spirited. That sense is amplified even more once the show moved to Sci Fi. I know that Mike was the head writer during Joel's tenure but I really think the heart and spirit of the show just lost something when he left.

Great, now I want to see a buddy action comedy with Ben Stein and Jackie Chan kicking butt together.
Rumble in the Bronx is actually pretty good!

I love I can go watch the MST3K episode and pause during the commercial signs to watch these clips!
1:27 - This must have been the tail end of Hollywood trying to make Rosie a star, around the time she switched from movies to her talk show.
Dear wonderful channel that i hold so dear, so dear to my '80s baby and '90s kid heart, what happened to '90s Commercials Vol. 508? 💔

@@80sCommercialVault ok! 💖🥰🌷
I don't think i got into Comedy Central until like, the mid to late 90s. A combination of retro SNL and eventually South Park did it for me.
My cable.provider didn't even offer Comedy Central until the late 90's. I had to buy the first season of South Park on VHS just to be able watch it.
Still new episodes of MST3K? This must have been right before the movie’s release and the move to Sci-Fi.
It looks like it's early 1996 judging by the Mcdonalds Olympic sponsorship and Rumble in the Bronx.
Please read the video description. Recording dates are provided on the very first line.

2:53 - Octavia Spencer (with no pie)
That’s sounds like Dee Snider doing the Comedy Central voice overs?
It's Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller:

@@80sCommercialVault Thanks!
You probably couldn't ask for a tng promo that goes more against the show's actual tone and philosophy lol.
Forget exploring the universe, fire more phasers!!
I remember watching MST3K around this time. I only like the Joel episodes. I dodnt like the Mike Nelson episodes.

@@80sCommercialVault I agree about the Sci-fi channel ones. They were hard to sit through.
While the Sci-Fi era wasn’t great, it did have its moments, such as Hobgoblins and the Gumby short, Robot Rumpus.

@@yusakug I didn't really pay attention too much to that era but I do remember the one episode where Joel came back
