Wow, gone are the days, when the kia Carnival looked blend and boring, this new one, wow, you would be forgiven if you thought that an SUV had gone past. Overall impressive Kia, Well done
You mentioned 1100ltrs+ on boot space with all seats up. Is this more vertical space than horizontal space? Eg how many suitcases would fit on the floor with out stacking.
Definitely more vertical than horizontal, and I'm afraid I didn't have the CarsGuide luggage on hand for this launch video. We'll do just that in an upcoming road test review ASAP, so please keep an eye out. Thanks for watching, Mal Flynn
Ha! I didn't have my Richard Berry tape handy, but based on his Palisade findings, it's about 2.67RBs. Which is a lot of RBs. No sign of the remote parking just yet, but I'd be surprised if we dont see it with the first facelift in a couple of years. Cheers for watching, Mal Flynn
Well done for another interesting family focused review Mal! Watched it just after Kodiaq. And the new Carnival is a ripper of a car! Live it looks even better than on videos and I saw it last weekend in Brighton-Le-Sands (maybe you've been testing there?). KIA has finally outdone V-Class as the classiest people mover IMHO. I wish they would not have cancelled the Rondo and applied the same philosophy to it. Would have been my choice without any second thought. Carnival is too big and too expensive for me to justify it in any way for a couple with a small dog 😂
Cheers Dakoolk! Not me in BLS, but could easily have been one of the launch cars. Mighty good point re Rondo, it was generally a fine option as it was, but nobody noticed. Perhaps you coult take up Airtasker furniture removal on weekends to justify a Carnival? Thanks for watching both vids, Mal Flynn
@@carsguide Thanks for a top tip how to justify the Carnival, Mal, but I have a slightly bad back for removal services... But I just realised that if the 11-seater as offered in Korea was available here, I could charge some good rates as a ride-sharing driver :D
Sorry, I covered that in the written review on site. Space saver I'm afraid. One advantage the Sorento offers with its full-size. Cheers for watching, Mal Flynn
Agree. Would love this one to be offered with a hybrid 4WD and the rear wheels driven by electric motors only. At the end of the day you aren't going to take this thing on a dirt track but if you want to tow or go up a steep hill in the wet while fully loaded a FWD driven vehicle only doesn't cut the mustard.

Still some of the issues I have with my Sedona, front cubby space is meh on road trips I found the dash mounted shifter frees up more center console room for snacks. Also increasing the rear overhang is a bad idea, my van with a tow hitch scrapes everywhere with any slight incline and forget about going up a slight hill with a bike rack on it. The removable center console is nice but you lose the center armrest, on the sienna you can remove the center seat and you still keep your armrests. Last but not least mpg, the new sienna averages 35mpg, that’s a huge missed opportunity for Kia.
A great vehicle, big improvement over the previous generation. But this has nothing in terms of space, seating configuration over say a VW Multivan or V class Merc. The VW can be had in AWD too, pretty important when you have a bunch of torque going through the front wheels of a vehicle that’s 5ish metres long.
But can either of those commercial-based options match the car-like drive experience of the Carnival? Not in my opinion, nor value. Cheers for watching, Mal Flynn
@@carsguide I agree, typically the answer would be no. Try a T6 generation VW multivan TDI450 highline 4motion (AWD in VW speak) and tell me what you think. I love the SUV ride, but lets face it minivans are so much better for carrying the kids and family, they are roomy and practical, they are comfortable and ride very smooth. And now Kia makes it less minivan like but still minivan practical. Genius! They just need to give an AWD version and a powerful Hybrid version as well, hopefully they are reliable. Does it come with arm rests on both sides if you get captain chairs in 2nd row?

Yes

Nice review. Does it have rear seat quiet mode and driver talk as in the Palisade?
I believe it does

1. Does the Carnival has remote moving car like the Sorento?
2. How many Richard Barry is the length of the Carnival?

Do you mean self parking? Where it parks itself like the Pacifica?
