Narrow Gauge Night Train!
Вставка

- Swept over the border of Colorado and New Mexico runs a former lifeline of the wild west. In the 1800s, people moved by narrow gauge rails through Cumbres Pass and the Toltec Gorge, day and night. In August 2021, the first overnight train on the narrow gauge in over a hundred years carried passengers over the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. With ornately restored rolling stock, 64 miles of track, and a clear night sky, the magic of rail travel in a time long left behind was rekindled.

I love the new world symphony
Wow, this is certainly interesting
I could imagine someone living nearby the line not knowing about this trip thinking it’s a ghost train or something… it’s certainly got a vibe
It sure felt surreal at certain moments, like going into a time warp.
@E Van The sounds of the steam pushing the engine forward, The click clack of the wheels against the rails, the light glaring as the engine turns a corner on the line, those haunting whistles blowing into the night........sounds perfect for a horror book if you ask me.
very intriguing! 👍
night trains are always a vibe.
There's nothing else on earth like them.
What a lovely video! One of the nicest, most atmospheric and artistic videos I've seen in ages. I really do envy the open-landscape, steam-hauled rail journeys that still happen across America. They're like relics of a time-gone-by. Having said that, I've been on a train hauled by Flying Scotsman, so it's not all bad!
I was on that train making a sound recording of the whole climb from Chama to Cumbres.
The locomotive looks cool at night
OK can we talk about that intro music? It sounded like we were going to war via the power of narrow gauge steam!!!!! Love it!!!! Seriously gives me some war time train service mixed with ghost train vibes. Perhaps the spirits of old soldier heading off to war on a train that was destroyed?
I seen thim do night Freight photo shoots for photography and narrow gage engines do cool things expeclley in huckleberry railroad they do this Christmas event they did at night and that's a sight to see
Wow cool steam runs at night.
Great atmosphere in your photography! Less is more.
Many thanks!
I love 168, I live in Colorado Springs where it was on display for 60+ years. I also managed to get one of the original window frames from the cab before they rebuilt it. Hopefully, I can get down to the railroad to see it in action one day!!!
Talk about Night Fever!
Incredible video. Its like Winston O Link came back with a video camera!
Magical
Amazing filming! The music goes great with it! Btw I’m that guy that my dad and I talked to you a bit at the diesel photo session at TVRM
Nice!
Looks like the video was from a old black and white color film of a wild western train departing in the night.
This is amazing! I love the background music!
Thank you!
Wow! The video looks so nice , i loved the engines at night time
This is just great!!
That’s epic!
Wow this was a really well put together video! I’ve always liked your content and you always seem to upload at the right time lol. I was researching the Cumbres & Toltec and the Durango and Silverton earlier today since me and my family are gonna try and go to Colorado next summer, and those 2 railroads are on the bucket list! Again great footage!!
Do it! These pikes are in a league of their own. Glad you're enjoying the show!
beautiful
This sure was interesting
I need to see 168 a still remember when it was a display.
BTW could you start listening the music you use
Edit: I stand corrected
The only one that's not listed is Dvorak's New World Symphony, courtesy of MusOpen.
Bit of a correction btw: Sublette is in New Mexico, not Colorado. ^^'
Do a video on the southern and NW merger please?!?!?
Wow, you were awake for the whole trip? Or did you slip into some slumbering on the way? ;)
Nope, didn't achieve sleepiness until reaching Antonito. :)
Do you have another Full Steam Ahead Coming up.
0:52 name of the song pls btw great video ❤️❤️
