    Just want to comment on how thorough you were with this video. You clearly spent time moving the camera around, getting close-up views and explaining what you were doing as you walked through it. I haven't seen any other video which tackles this type of work with the same detail. Thank you. My Sorento hit 200k the other day and I need to replace the fuel rail sensor, the camshaft position sensor - figured while I am under the manifold, I can swap the coils, plugs, gaskets at the same time. Your video helped tremendously. Thank you.

    HO-LEE-SHEET. This is unbelievably complicated to just swap the danged spark plugs! Engineers just don't design for reasonable serviceability anymore. 😞
    Thank you so much for making this video.

    Thank you. I appreciate the clear step by step tutorial. I recently found car maintenance was my responsibility . Trying to educate myself so I understand what I can do and when I need to have the work done. Also so that if I choose to have the work done what is a fair and reasonable cost. Your video boosted my confidence level on spark plug replacement. I knew nothing and now my 74 year old female brain has a clear idea of what all is involved. I have been taken advantage of in the past and videos like this help to insure that doesn't continue to happen. Thank you

      Thank you that is why I do this videos because there’s quite a few dishonest mechanics out there nowadays and these vehicles just keep getting more complex.

    I like the fact that you use anti seize AND dielectric grease….. not just for the next guy, but with aluminum heads(and other components) it’s very cheap insurance. Same thing for the grease, both might save you from replacing expensive parts because you can’t get them apart 👍👍👍👍

    Would it make sense to clean inside the intake while it's open like that?

      You can wipe out any of the oil with a clean rag while it’s off.

    Will this be the same procedure for a 2019 V6 Kia Sorento all-wheel drive?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  Рік тому

      Yes same procedure but the parts numbers will most likely be different.

    • @bacondreamer
      @bacondreamer Рік тому

      This should be the same procedure for any of the Kia vehicle that uses this 3.3L Lambda V6 engine like the the Sedona. Same part number for the surge tank gasket.

    Do you need to replace the gasket? Or thats just extra your doing?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  9 місяців тому +1

      If they are the original gaskets you will want to replace them. You can reuse them in a pinch but I don’t recommend that because they can start to leak and then you have to tear back into it.

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  9 місяців тому +1

      @@boxingking10457 it will be the middle one in the front closet to the radiator.

    How long does this job usually take?

  • @bacondreamer
    @bacondreamer Рік тому

    FYI, the three holes in the back are for the power steering hose on vehicles that has hydraulic power steering. From the video it looks like the Sorento has mechanical power steering, hence the lack of the power steering reservoir and the line.

    The brakes and rotors seem easy to do, but im debating on just paying someone to do the spark plugs. Maybe a local mechanic would be cheaper than the kia dealership. Still debating if i should try myself, it looks complicated. I have 155k miles and haven't changed them yet.

      The first time around is nerve racking. Everything is basically plug and play, most plugs are lined right up or will not go into another one. The 14 mill bolt in the back is a pain in the ass but once you get it out, then the whole intake comes off. Just take your time, look what goes where and reverse how it came apart!
