  • Today I’m going to explore what happened to Skuld, if that is her we saw in Dark Road, and why I don’t believe she is Subject X.

Nomura confirmed the woman wasn't Skuld but someone connected to her, and toddler Xehanort mentioned Skuld looks like his mom.
Ephemer and Skuld didn't turn on the pods, they just use it as shelter if you look closely so basically they started Scala together this Adam and Eve

Wow I never really thought of it that way. That would be a great way to reunite the trio. I agree that they parallel Adam and Eve.
I had thought that Xehanort would be a descendant of Ephemer. That would further tie together the dynamic of Ephemer and Brain with Xehanort and Eraqus.

I'm usually open to most theories. Both theories of skuld being subject x as well as her possibly being xehanort's mom both make sense. I still believe that ava could have a small chance of being subject x since A: we don't know what ava looks like underneath her mask
B: in the reports of kh3 it states that she kept mumbling the words "may your heart be your guiding key" and we never really heard skuld say it as much as ava. However skuld does fit the description of a "black haired girl around 15 years old"
Similar to what you said that these elements are just giving us reasons for plot theories. Nomura has done things like this over the years whereas he tries to be subtle and vague as possible without giving away too much, which leads me to think why brain was named brain when it's obvious that luxu stole his physical form and later down the road he calls himself braig, only the last letters of his name is changed. If Nomura just simply called brain braig then it would defeat his intentions of bringing suspense to the union leaders arc.
But getting back on topic, if skuld was xehanort's mom then the idea of the "Adam and eve" trio would come into fruition. Remember, the trio in the union cross era is skuld, ephemer and player. Player reincarnates himself into xehanort, thus skuld and ephemer have baby xehanort together which makes the trio reunite once more.
People mentioned about xehanort's mom having different eye colors as skuld, it goes back to what I said before, Nomura could possibly make that feature so it can keep us audience guessing. There's plenty of footage that has been scrapped over the years with the trailers. Prime example: the trailer for kh3 had sora in his kh2 outfit picking up eraqus' keyblade on destiny islands, when kh3 finally came out we see sora with a different outfit. So maybe once all of this unfolds in missing link and dark road we'll see the final product of these mysterious characters. It's funny, I remember a friend and I were talking about kingdom hearts and I he thinks that Nomura probably has all of these things placed out and we fans figure it out before it happens and he goes back and tries to change things around to "maintain mystery" instead of just giving us a pat on the back.

I actually don't have much (Just one) to add to the theory of skuld but, that man in blue, people are theorizing that he is ephemer, however, many speculate the point that the woman that looks like Skuld and the man in the blue robe are in different age ranges, considering both were in the pods when Daybreak Town got enveloped into darkness. In Dark Road, we begin to understand Xehanort's (As well as Erauqs's) perspective on darkness and light, but one question remains, how'd Odin arrive in a specific version of Scala Ad Caelum? (I say that because the one we see in the UX finale & Missing link are visually different from the one Xehanort arrives in when he grows up.) So surely it would make a interesting point in if Emphemer became Odin at one point, and for it to be specifically a guy in a blue robe being presented a newly born Xehanort from a woman that looks similar to skuld..it apparently leaves things out, but *IF* Skuld is subject x, at that point it wouldn't make sense unless she got rescued by Lea/Isa later on along with Sora, then Skuld in her older state, if there are any pods still around (Which I'm sure there should be, considering Hollow Bas--I mean, Radiant Garden should have since it's how Kairi was sent to the Destiny Islands.) Goes back to that time and uhh, conceived Xehanort, then had to give him up because he had a special connection (I mean, why did he have to be given up at such a early age?)...It sounds ridiculous but, it's a theory, there's a lot of variables left out on purpose.

For me, familial bonds are still too new in KH I suppose. They never really mattered all that much until the blueblood line in the KH3 secret reports, so I have a hard time doing the whole "these people are blood related in this way and matters because X" discussion. And now we have a Main Family and Branch Family coming up in Missing Link, so the theme is certainly becoming prevalent. It would be hilarious if they left SRK's families in the dark though lol

I’m also not saying they are absolutely related by blood. I believe skuld could be the mother, but for me it’s more about repopulating then dandelions and keyblade wielders, not so much about their bloodlines. I have no idea what to think of the blue blood stuff at this point 😅

I don’t believe the mother shown at the end of KHUX is Skuld. However, they could still be someone related to her? The biggest problem with it being Skuld is that the eye colors are different as she has silver eyes and Skuld has gold eyes. Yet, if Ephemera is indeed the man in the robe and the mother is related to Skuld. Perhaps that the women is actually Ephemera and Skuld great granddaughter? It would explain that she looks so much like Skuld but inherited Ephemera eye color and why she would trust him with her child.

There are two ways that Xehanort's mom could be Skuld. One is if she melted her heart and was reborn. And the other is if time travel happens at some point. Honestly I think the easiest answer for Xehanort's mother looking like Skuld is that she is her granddaughter or otherwise blood related. So while I do agree that Xehanort's mom looking like Skuld is likely a hint that she stayed I am not at all thinking she is actually Skuld herself. Though it is true that Xehanort's mom could be both her descendent and her melted heart reborn, we don't know enough about melted hearts reborn to actually know.
Our first question has to be when does Xehanort's mother give him up to the man in the blue robe?
The easiest answer that doesn't need time travel is that it takes place right before the people abandon the cities of Scala. So maybe around Eraqus' birth. Given the Blue Robe Man's age it could very well be Brain or Eraqus' Grandfather.
The next easy answer is that this is early Scala like before Missing Link Scala. This would likely make the mom Skuld's actual granddaughter and Blue Robe Man Ephemer. Then Ephemer takes Xehanort out of Scala and because time doesn't work right into some point in the middle of DR, Destiny Islands must just age a lot slower then Scala does. Which gives off the feeling of Time Travel even though it doesn't actually happen.
A third answer would be, Skuld time traveled into a future version of Scala, and give her baby to a stranger, Brain, or Ephemer. Depending on where she ended up.
Or next question is do we know where Ephemer ended up? And how does wherever he ended up let him show himself to Sora in KH3?
It is completely possible that he is dead, and then he melts his heart and is reborn as Eraqus. Eraqus might also be having dreams of UX, as the flashback in chapter 2 doesn't have Player in it at all. It flashes to the flashback which Ephemer/Eraqus could maybe remember but Player/Xehanort could not have, to Xehanort being able to see that Darkness was behind/inside the Queen of Hearts. Since the line "Darkness can hide anywhere, even inside someone" is said by both them. Eraqus might say it because of the flashback and Xehanort might say it because he just saw it. Eraqus being a reborn Ephemer might also explain why he shows up in the Graveyard, because Eraqus was kind of there. That said the line could just be a teaching that was past down to Eraqus because of his Blue Blood.
Another Ephemer might be dead idea is that. Sometime after Scala was formed another Keyblade War happened for some reason and Ephemer and his students died in the Keyblade Graveyard. And for some reason they didn't melt their hearts and be reborn. Maybe something about the Graveyard stops that?
The third option is that Ephemer isn't dead. That at some point after he and Skuld build Scala he goes back into an Unchained state. Where he can send versions to people which could be useful. A kind of Ephemer is stuck in a timeless watch over Reality idea, and likely took Skuld with him.
There is honestly no end to how many ways this could be working out so I am going to end here about Ephemer, Skuld, and Xehanort.
I would like to talk about myth for a moment. I don't think Skuld and Ephemer are meant to be a Adam and Eve parallel. Mostly because they much more closely look like a Norse myth.
Rangorok ends with the World flooded and the two last human's hiding in the trunk of a tree(maybe the World tree?). The Ark Pods being Brown is a very good stand in for a tree trunk. It's part of the Reason that Ephemer still had his physical Ark, so that it could be a stand in for a tree trunk.
Flood myths happen in almost every mythos which might mean that something like a great flood actually happened at some point but that is really neither here nor there. However in the Christen myth the flood and the Garden are completely different and unrelated stories. What happens to Ephemer and likely Skuld is much closer to the Norse myth. Any parallel to Christianity is likely because all mythos have stories that parallel each other. Like how almost every mythos has a great flood myth.

I'm not sure about Ephemer being the guy in the cloak - according to Nomura there are 4 generations between KHUX and Missing-Link, and given the statue of him, it seemed to me to be a tribute because Ephemer is dead. To survive beyond 4 generations and then another 18 years to watch over Xehanort before dying is hard to believe.

I’ve been going over it for my video but I’m certainly curious about Ephemer’s memory. If Ephemer survived, shouldn’t all the time travelers be drawn to the earliest point he would think about them? It almost defeats the purpose of Maleficent being a waypoint if that’s the case. It’s very plausible for this to be Skuld in exactly the way you stated here. But something doesn’t add up to how everyone landed in their respective locations.

    • @pajamaletsplay9859
      @pajamaletsplay9859  2 роки тому +1

We don’t know how it works. It’s not necessarily the earliest point of someone with memories because Maleficent would have gone back to her birth (thus the earliest point when someone would have memories of her), and that’s not what happened. I think it’s up to the traveler and where they intend to go, but none of it is confirmed

@@pajamaletsplay9859 They gave us the rules and basically told us to do the math ourselves. It course requires a medium as well, but the further in the future someone goes the less likely a personal object exists there. I do of course think there is some choice involved. I think the traveler has to have their objective in mind and the objective has to be thinking of them the same way. I have said many times though that Maleficent didn’t go immediately to KH2 because of her distinct meeting with Lauriam. If Marluxia exists before KH2, then Maleficent didn’t go back to KH2 immediately.

If that woman who was holding Xehanort was Skuld, then how do you explain the change in eye color? I mean, we certainly have seen eyes change color in this series, most notably when someone is under the influence of darkness. Do you think that Skuld somehow fell under the influence of darkness?

Maybe 🤔 the woman “Skuld” with the yellowish/orange brown like eyes 👀 who have the power of darkness which, it’s still have that dark power inside her which she wasn’t fully unleashed the sorts of darkness she didn’t known. And as for baby Xehanort well… think of it like a mother and a father who are having a baby for a new world to be open but once all the happiness comes, something ain’t right, an demon has taken over the baby body, mind,& souls inside the mother who doesn’t known what is happening to her and at the end of some hours for everything ends all of this were back to normal for the child comes out and open into the new world, where the mother lost all of her powers and given to the baby having that kind of power, which is the woman if she is appear to be “Sklud” loses all of her dark yellow like eyes 👀 power changing to her silver/grey color of eyes for given to the Baby Xehanort who now is born given a unbelievable power he didn’t had. Kinda feels like some source of a horror movie or some anime show which a demon gotten into a baby to be born and become the reincarnation. It’ll takes this story that are mysterious for how Xehanort got the yellow/orange eyes and even his hair got bold when he became evil, is kind of a like one of those memes when the blue and yellow eyes of ( everyone is Sora & everyone is Xehanort ).

A counter point. The reason I think Skuld is Subject X is because of the effect she has Apprentice Xehanort. When they met, Apprentice Xehanort becomes obsessed with her. He "remembers " her the way Maleficent "remembers" Darkness. This is because under all the layers, Xehanort is the inverted reincarnation of the Player. The Player sacrificed and made a Heart connection to Skuld.
Now, Skuld is "the shaper of Fate.". When Subject X meets Apprentice Xehanort, it pushes him to do extreme Heart experimentation to get "Skuld" to remember herself so "Xehanort" can have his "friend" back.
The same thing happens with Ventus and Xemnas. He is look for his "Friend" for a vessel the same way he took Marluxia and Larxene.
I also think Braig specifically took Subject X to get Apprentice Xehanort to subconsciously try to find the "Player" in himself so he will create Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas. They are Black Pieces in the Master of Master's game, and the Master needs them on the Board to make Sora, Riku, and Kairi become who they are.
