  • It's time to uncover the Ferrari and wake it from its winter sleep!
In this video I cover the condition of the car after storing it over winter, and what things need to be addressed now that the car is getting ready for summer.
So, will the steps we took in the winterization video have helped?

So, today is the day I finally uncovered the Ferrari from its winter storage. Will everything be OK?

Great starter vid, I did the door seal treatment myself to my wife's car, absolutely brill, a great tip thanks. Hope all goes well with the service, can't wait for the next vid again :-) and yes... fuel does help, lol :-)

The door seal thing is a really simple thing that helps. I've had loads of cars in the past with annoying wind noise, and this stops it. I worked it out when I bought a convertible that leaked, thought it might work and it did.
Yeah, I saw the quote for the service when they picked it up and I'm hoping that it doesn't need anything else! Money and pit spring to mind :-)
Yeah, I was on the test drive, started with 3 bars of fuel, then it dropped and the last light started flashing! Oops!

    Interesting stuff.
Just out of interest, do you bother to turn the wheels to avoid the tyres taking the weight in one place?

Thanks Lupo Lucy. Yes, to avoid 'flat spotting' I move the car every couple of weeks, other things people do is over inflating the tyres, but I'm not a fan of that as you have to keep changing the pressure. I have never had flat spotting in the Ferrari though, I think because it's light weight it seems OK. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for making this..I drive a 911 turbo and it's been about 6 months here in San Francisco where I finally should be taking it out soon. It's in my garage but I did not have a dehumidifier so a bit worried about that...

You're very welcome. I wish I had a garage I could fit my car in, but here in the UK, most are single car size, and were designed when cars were smaller, so I could get my car in, but not open the door.
One thing you can do if you don't have a dehumidifier is get the silica gel moisture traps like I use. These are great, and will help keep some of the damp air at bay. Enjoy when you finally get to take the Turbo out and have fun!
      Thanks for commenting.

Hey thanks!! I never drive it in the rain for about 6 months each year so I think I might just go for the dehumidifier since it might last longer?I just use a car cover and plug in the battery after detailing at home...will try next winter since it's my baby (: Thanks!!

I don't blame you, I tried to drive the 430 in November and couldn't get any heat in to the tyres, and it was just wheel spinning and the back end was twitching. Sounds like you have a good plan and the dehumidifier would be a good addition. Sometimes you might find they're slightly cheaper to buy in summer, like how air conditioning units are cheaper in winter. Could be a bargain.
