One thing I notice about the EVOX-R 2.0 over the Hella E55 is that not only is the lens housing shorter, but the lens itself is much thicker. Must be that the lens has a shorter focal lenth on the 2.0, which probably explains it's hotspot performance.
What I'd like to know though, is if one used the lens mounting legs from an E55 to mount the new clear lens on a 2.0 so the unit is an exact retrofit into headlight units, what effect would this have on the beam?

There are people selling 'generic' EvoX-R 2.0 projectors on ebay and aliexpress. They are less than half the cost of the Morimoto branded ones. Does anyone know if buying the Morimoto brand is worth the extra 80 dollars?

It’s not. They all come from the same manufacturers.

I'm 70% certain they would. I'm sure the car uses the Hella E55 OE projector and the EVOX-R is designed to be a retrofit for this unit. I'll be doing a video series on this myself soon using my Saab.
