    Very useful review, thanks. I've just acquired a 2022 Ioniq Hybrid, and am still familiarising myself with it -- many thanks.

    Really good video but I am also interested in knowing about the driving feel and performance. Also, what is the typical battery life and what does is cost to replace the battery.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  2 роки тому +4

      We're going to add a test drive component to our channel for 2022. Also, nobody asks what a transmission costs to replace when they buy a gas vehicle. Knowing what the battery costs? Honestly, it doesn't matter. It's under warranty for 7 years, and beyond that, it's likely to cost less than it does now. Finally, the battery is designed to last the life of the car, it's just not something that most people will ever have to worry about.

    You didn't go too long on the paddles. Thanks a lot. So depending on the driver you can set a preference. I think 3 is too much for me I leave it between one and 2.

    The extra $500 or so more is worth it for the Ioniq over Elantra, as the Ioniq has nearly twice the cargo volume.

      In this video we talk about the cargo volume, while the Ioniq has more, the Elantra may have a better cargo layout for some people.

    Noticing your videos have been showing cars that are either, silver, white or grey. Coincidence? Or sales must be really good.

    • @justinl9077
      @justinl9077 3 роки тому

      Yeah, it seems like most cars that are sold are white, black, silver, or grey. Hyundai's colors are more conservative than some of the colors found on other makes. Maybe for 2022, Hyundai will release some more colors. Some sort of orange/tangerine, lime green, etc would be cool.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 роки тому +1

      Haha! I don't know if you've seen what's going on in the automotive world right now, but inventory is VERY limited for virtually every brand. At this point, I take what I can get. The days of me being able to choose the colour, and the trim for my videos are gone for now! White, Grey and Black are what most people buy, so when things get tight, that's just sometimes what happens. When I have a choice, I try to avoid black as it doesn't work well on camera, and if possible I try to grab a unique colour, but it's tough right now.

      Parking sensors, to turn them on or off? I'm not sure. If you tell me the minute and second that you see it in the video, I may be able to help. For instance the three minute, ten second part of the video could be shown like this 3:10 and after you post your comment, that time stamp becomes a link to that section of the video.

    what"s the battery longevity on Ioniq?

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 роки тому +2

      Bear with me because I get this question a lot. What's the longevity of your transmission in your gasoline car? I ask that because the answer is the same for both. The battery in your electric car and the transmission in your gasoline car are both designed to last the life of the car. The battery is actually warrantied for longer. Hyundai doesn't give us a spec for "when it should die" or anything like that. In general, there are tips and tricks to make sure that you experience as little battery degradation as possible, and these latest batteries are expected to do better than previous EV batteries, but we just don't have a spec for me to quote about that. I can tell you that my Kia Soul EV has experienced no real-world degradation in over 2 years of driving. I still max out at the same or greater range than when the car was new. So I hope you know that I'd answer your question if I could, but it's just not something that I'll have a spec to quote.

      You can actually have the battery's serviced. At least with the Prius anyway. Toyota doesn't actually service it. And I imagine Hyundai wouldn't either. But there is hybrid battery shops. That will balance or even replace individual cells.
