  • Procrastination... what is that all about?!? How can you think differently in a way that will get you to push forward when you feel like hesitating? I'm Valorie Burton, and I sometimes jokingly refer to myself as a 'recovering procrastinator.'
That's because there are times when I push past my procrastination and get things done - and then there are times when I fall back into my old habits. Today I'm sharing on the subconscious habits that cause us to procrastinate, as well as the tools we can use to identify when we are procrastinating and what to do to stop it.
You can push through. You can achieve your goals. Sometimes it will be due to an adrenaline-fueled deadline, sometimes it will be so that you can make it to a Prince concert on time!
Getting things done with joy and ease is better, though. Tapping into our sense of purpose and meeting that deadline in a calm and deliberate manner (without anxiety, stress, and self-sabotaging thoughts) is way better.
Let's unpack what it is that you are stalling on. Let's discover what your procrastination is telling you about yourself. And then, once we've reflected on why we are holding ourselves back, we can get to work with actual tools to combat procrastination and achieve so much more in our lives. Let's dive in!
"When you find yourself falling back into a procrastination habit, do you have the tools? Do you know what it is you need to do to get yourself unstuck?" ~ Valorie Burton

I have followed Valerie for over 17 years. I still have her coaching classes that were on CD's. I joined Successful Women's Academy (SWA) 2 years ago when it was launched, and it has dramatically changed my life. Finally, after 16 years of marital challenges, I took the plunge to take The Capp Institute Coaching Intensive and now CPEC (Certified Personal & Executive Coach). I have lived a bit (71 years) and am in my 3rd and hopefully final career. I used to think I wanted to be Valerie Burton when I grew up. But now, I realize I want to be a Successful Woman who Thinks Differently and help women 45+ do the same. Ladies - don't stop here. Follow your dreams, and don't let anyone get in your way!

I am a recovering procrastinator too and I relapse at times LOL. .. Love this episode too and I have found that I procrastinate on tasks that I don't always bring me joy but I need to do as it's my role. For example, I love coaching and serving my patients and clients but I procrastinate on the charting and documentation but its part of my role as a health care clinician. TY for this episode💖💖

I just found you over the weekend, Valorie. So far, everything I've seen across platforms has been so beneficial, including this video. As a special needs homeschooling mom and an entrepreneur, my To Do list is long and filled with things that appear time consuming. Today I'm going to chip away at a couple of those things for just 5 minutes each. Thank you, Valorie.
