Also, the person Hutchinson claims to have told her about this incident, Anthony Ornato, has denied even telling her this.

Well the two Trump loyalists can either come in and testify with the threat of perjury hanging over their heads or guess what it's going to be taken as factual and credible but they won't guarantee
its not a court of law its a congressional hearing therefore hearsay is admitted. There are different types of congressional hearings legislative, field, ratification. oversight and investigative hearings. This is an investigative hearing. They are as old as America is as a country and have always been conducted this way. The most famous probably was watergate. The rules between a court of law and a congressional investigative hearing are very very different. Firstly an investigative hearing is conducted with a view to make legislation. A court of law criminal trial is about finding someone innocent or guilty and it is about releasing or sentencing. This is less about whether trump is guilty or innocent and more about legislative measures the house will take in response to what has happened. There are no fixed rules of procedure or evidence govern the presentations of witnesses or the questions posed by their interrogators. There is no neutral magistrate either. Trials are not designed to reveal the truth ...they are designed to see if the state can prove a case beyond reasonable doubt or discharge a burden of proof. Whereas congressional hearings are not about trying to proof a case as it's unlikely someone will be charged they are designed to reveal the truth. If you want trump to go to jail ..he has to be tried in a criminal court and the burden of proof is higher because you are talking about a man's freedom. But to be banned from public office the burden of proof is much much less ...because tbh people in public office should be above reproach. They should leave no doubt in your mind they are superb human beings. He is perhaps depending on the outcome only going to be banned from holding public positions of power he will not be sent to prison. Well not as a result of this hearing anyway. Therefore hearsay is allowed.

All the testimony in the hearings were made by Republicans. The star witness was a Republican. She testified Trump was informed the morning of J6 that members of his mob were carrying guns. He sent the mob to the capital anyway, even telling his staff to remove the metal detectors. She was not in the car and she said it was the "Beast" but President Trump was in an SUV with the Secret Service Agents. The Agents are asking to be able to testify UNDER OATH that this did not happen. President Trump never went for the wheel and he never went for any Agent's throat. But when she testifies about the Secret Service she testifies like it is first hand knowledge giving explicit detail blow by blow account of the supposed altercation.

I worked in corrections for 21 years. I once got into an issue with a supervisor/lieutenant who ended up generating paperwork. When I went to the hearing, another LT, who was not signed to the wing, or even present at the time, had submitted a report parroting everything the LT I had the issue with wrote on her report. Long story short, they lost their little case, cause I called their entire debacle out.

Every legitimate court in the U.S. allows a witness to be cross examined by the opposing side. Was this witness cross examined? If not, this is not a legitimate hearing. Deal with it.
