Oh yeah those old sleds bring back some of my best memories from the greatest snowmobiling days of the early 70's. So many brands i have read almost 100 back then. Looks like old sleds outnumber new ones these days what does that tell you. That is one winter past time that has for the most part faded away now probably for good things being what they are in the world. I remember those days you could look out the window at any time any day and see sleds out there . Now I never see them where I live in NY anymore. Perhaps will hear one or 2 ripping down the road at night during a storm but that is all. Never the lines of 10, 20 sleds like it was. It was amazing to see the rows of snowmobile lights off in the distance at night. Glad I was there to witness the fun back in the day. I have no interest at all in modern sleds. Like modern cars they all look the same.
Same here in MN. I grew up on sleds and enjoyed the muscle sled era in all its glory. My boy just got his license and his first Cat. The trails are SO empty compared to the 80's and 90's. Granted, it aint cheap anymore. Gas and oil alone for a weekend ride cost him and I almost $200. Im on a healthy blue collar income but that kinda hurts the wallet to do it more than twice a month. We have to haul, too.
Loved seeing the John Deere's and the Indy storm ! I'm out in cambridge MN if anyone wants to go riding! I'd be to put together a ride for 90s sleds in our area.
This was me and my hillbilly buddies in the early 80's. You could get a good running sled for a few hundred bucks back then. They'd call off school the night before during a storm and we'd ride all night. Back then 45 miles an hour on my 340 felt like I was flying. I could hit 60 on the liquifier if it was a hard packed road. I've owned different versions of about a third of these. I can just imagine the wonderful smell of these guys going by.
God all mighty man --out of all these dudes that get together and ride---and talk---and--ride---and talk ---and ride and have a few beers somebody would have a line on a 1984 Ski-Doo 9700 Blizzard. I have been advertising my ass off for 5 years for one wanted!!!!!!!!!!! Please give me a leg up ---SOMEBODY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim Kiesau

Why do so many people choose to ride newer/modern sleds on vintage rides?
Good question.
Love seeing all those old free air motors sticking out through the hoods... Can't see the motor in my new sled even with the plastics off lol
They are a hoot!

Didn't make it again this year. Saw a lot of sleds I hadn't before and yet there was a lot missing compared to previous years.
Should be leavers only.
